I mean genjustu worked on edo itachi granted meno is a different type of edo. Tho in bleach we are shown mind hax like Kikanshinki doesn't work on reishi bodies and it erases memories and knocks plp unconscious.
 
I mean Soul King should be able to take that no? I dont think there is anything Mujin can use that is a Threat to the Soul King.

The stupidest part about it is: GIN WAS LYING THE WHOLE TIME TO MESS WITH ICHIGO! 🤦‍♂️

And the icing on the cake: We don't even know what speed he told Aizen either, so him saying "it's not as fast as I said" means absolutely nothing.

Also, the old anime interpreted Gin's explanation with the clap as it referring to the sound of his clap, and so did Viz's manga translation. Thing is, everybody knows how "unreliable" Viz translations are (I'm trying to be nice here), and their fumbles should be fresh in everybody's memory, specially after the recent drama with JJK's Gojo's lines being horrendously translated as well - a common recurrence with Viz unfortunately...
And on top of that, the old Noryuki Abe anime took several "questionable" liberties throughout its run (trying to be polite about it again), so another scene/character being done dirty and misinterpreted in the og anime would not surprise me at all.

In the original manga Gin says "届いた", which would actually translate to "Did you get that?" and then afterwards he says "That just now, It's 500 times that.". If Kubo really meant the sound of the clap and not how fast Gin's clap was, wouldn't he just say "Did you hear that?" instead? 🤷‍♂️



Idk, I think the general interpretation has always been dodgy and people who like to downplay Bleach just seem to wanna hold on to this for dear life. And AGAIN, Gin was lying the whole time, so none of this even matters anyway. 🤦‍♂️Even IF he actually meant the sound, he coulda just been saying that to confuse Ichigo, which is what he was doing and iirc it's even aknowledged by Ichigo that's what Gin was doing.

Sorry for the long rant... 😔

Yea gins statement is outdated. The databook actually says he's referring to the speed of his hands clapping together

And I just double-checked and realized I was being unfair to the OG anime too in regards to that scene. They actually adapted it pretty much 1:1 and seem to have kept the same Gin lines.
So once again, this comes back to the usual suspects, VIZ MEDIA, mistranslating not just the manga, but also the episode, 'cause they were also in charge of distribution of the old anime back in the day, so if someone is to blame, it's them. :mad:
 
When Ichigo returns to the SS after getting stuck in his throat, is what he uses to move around a Sonido?

I'm aware, but the end result is what matters. Bad translation in the manga and bad translation in the anime.
Viz's historical treatment of Bleach hasn't exactly been the best either...
I mean... how long have we been waiting for SAFWY to get translated again? Or WDKALY?
Not to mention that if it weren't for Jaymes Hanson leaking the Disney+ deal and getting fans up in arms about no-simulcasting ahead of time, TYBW woulda been stuck in Disney+ jail like Summer Time Rendering. Viz only scrambled to get simulcasting done once they got backlash for it. (thankfully fans took notice of it early enough that it could be fixed, but without that leak things could have turned out differently...)
