Pretty sure the Grunts' Plasma Pistols will melt through and disable the droids. The Needlers might not be as effective but they do have some limited homing capabilities.

Pretty sure a needler would be next to useless against a non-biological target like a droid but the EMPs and plasma weapons would disable them and turn them to slag real quick. I would argue that the Grunts would freak out at a wall of 1000 battle droids opening fire on them all at once but seeing as they kinda have nearly suicidal confidence in large enough numbers (Seeing as the Grunt Rebellion was a thing) they should take round 2 pretty handily.

Round 1 is sorta a toss up and has a lot of genuine comedic potential.
