I'm using this thread more as a hub for the lil' announcement, just to not contact every single user individually. Most, if not all, the scans hosted on imgur and featured on Warhammer 40K profiles have gone down. There are references, so it's academically fine, but it would be nice nonetheless to restore them overtime.
I don't know who's taking care of the verse these days, so I'll just ping the staff listed as supporters: @Mr. Bambu @Wokistan @Crabwhale @Qawsedf234 @Tllmbrg @AbaddonTheDisappointment

Maybe the copyright owners are overzealous, or maybe the images were uploaded without any logged in accounts?

Yeah I noticed it happened a while back and since most of the scans were from me I’ve been trying to get the images back. Most of them are still saved on my actual imgur account so I’m just trying to organize them

Iirc they are there, imgur just breaks private links at some point. So if you make them public they're visible again.

Pretty sure if you just directly link to the images as well it bypasses the 404 thing

I think it might be better to upload the images directly to the wiki. Being completely honest, I'm not liking Imgur's track record lately.

Well, the problem is that, if I understood correctly, I have been told by a Fandom staff member that images with more extreme cases of copyright infringement might cause Fandom to delete them due to demands from the owners, but I am not certain.

I'm planning on replacing all of them, bar the P&A ones, and rehashing the profiles (without any more imgur links) in the next 6 months.

It affects lots, especially Marvel and the MCU.

Just announcing that I'm gonna make a tiny change to this discussion rule:

It is understood that there may be instances where a staff member has expertise or knowledge of a particular series verse that allows them to confidently approve a revision on their own. It is possible for a staff member to initiate a content revision thread and have their vote counted.

These two words seem redundant, so I'm going to delete the second word. Posting here on the off-chance that I'm missing some nuance of the wording by doing this.
