From what I understand it does look like they are Immortal as long as they follow the laws in question, with the Grand Priest simply erasing Merus before the law had the chance to. At the same time, this would seem to imply that the GP has the ability to just ignore the laws assumed protection. One could argue that since Merus broke the law, he was no longer being protected by it, but Whis specifically says breaking the law is the only method by which they could be removed from existence.

So you agree with it?

Btw wouldn't this also make the Angels from the manga have a new weakness "due to the law of the angel lifeform, he/her cannot engage in fights outside of training, else they are erased from existence"

Or something like that?

I think that could work, but the least we could do currently is to wait for more staff input.

No. Merus has fought Moro before without being erased. It just means they can't use their true power. Of which we don't know the limits of.
Angels must stay neutral overall, him engaging in a fight with Moro wouldn't change anything, because he hasn't 't shown any glimpse of his angelic powers, so I do agree with omega's point unless they stay neutral and won't use any of their powers for either justice or injustice they wouldn't get erased

It's basically that Merus could fight as long as he wasn't using his angelic powers which would break the angel laws. It's not that they can't fight at all but they can't use their angelic powers in a fight because of the law

It's hard to say whether or not they are permitted to kill people. Merus could fight to stop Moro just fine but he never tried to kill him. And what exactly constitutes 'angelic powers' is up in the air. Because the entire reason Goku chose to train with Merus is because he saw he could move like an Ultra Instinct user and it is stated Angels are always in the Ultra Instinct state. I guess if you argue Merus was in a 'mortal form' he wasn't always in Ultra Instinct but he was in his 'mortal form' when he started to use his full power and was erased so I'm pretty sure he still counted as an Angel there.

Not arguing Angels should be allowed to fight in matches. Just putting it out there that the actual limits of the law are a bit debatable because we don't exactly know what their angelic powers or full power really entails. Hopefully later chapters will expand on it a bit more.
