All Purpose Dragon Ball Thread

All the people looking for a manga remake are gonna be dissappointed. It's a remaster. A touched up anime with new cuts and added manga elements.

It's so weird that they never mentioned anything about a remake of the anime and clearly stated their intentions, yet the fanbase is running off with some delusions that it's gonna be a 1 for 1 with the manga.

It's like people watched the trailer, saw the anime exclusive moments and attacks, and came to a completely different conclusion.

How does him keeping the form correlate to him absorbing it into his base
Super Saiyan God is a temporary existence. When the timer runs out, the form disappears. Goku and Vegeta are only capable of using the form after the original power created by the ritual expires because they adapted and absorbed the form, expanding their latent potential.

Does the current DBS Manga profiles accept Base Goku = God Ki absorbed for the first couple arcs?

I get what ym now but It's still not at all handled similarly to the anime

I hope that Goku can survive in the vacuum of space without oxygen, that's all i ask, just like in the scene where Goku flew into the vacuum of space.

Same, honestly. Just add something like God Ki or Angel/GoD aura allowing one to survive in the vaccuum of space indefinitely.

It's silly how if Vegeta ends up becoming the GoD he'd be nearly useless, because he can't destroy planets while inside and any planet buster (basically everyone at this point) can kill him by destroying the planet when he's not looking.

I mean idealistic fans probably wanted a fusion between the DBS anime and DBS manga with all the best parts of both while cutting down on the weaker elements of both as well, thus creating a definitive version of DBS.

For example keeping all the gritty parts of the Future Trunks arc in the DBS manga but have Merged Zamasu become one with the universe and start effecting other timelines like in the DBS anime (Zeno deleting the timeline in the manga felt less needed since the Merged Zamasu clones hadn't even left Earth yet while due to when the DBS anime was aired a ton of violent and bloody scenes had to be toned down).

But regardless, I'm sure most fans are just glad to get more content (especially the Moro arc actually getting an animated adaptation, considering it started over SEVEN years ago in manga).

Ajay stated the Beerus anime features some manga-only scenes like Goku's image training so it's still on the table. Also Iyoku specifically stated DBS Enhanced is meant to be the definitive version. So technically we might be getting that, or something close to that.

Nostalgia aside what is the general consensus of the best dubbed version of DBZ, Ocean dub Vs Kai?

Since it seems DBS might be getting the Kai/Brotherhood treatment judging from rumblings on social media.

I really wish the anime would fix this by having the Saiyans fight in space, punching through planets as if it were nothing. DB needs feats like this, only then will OPM fanboys stop saying it's all just fallacies and hyperbole 😭😂

Seems like this is gonna be a new continuity going off this
People treat them as separate when the people producing it don't view it that way. Toyotaro and Torishima for example made it clear they don't really distinguish between continuities like the western fandom does. When Supa is saying it's meant to be the 'definitive version' and "more accurate to the manga" chances are Iyoku isn't thinking 'This is a brand new continuity' and instead 'This is an improved version of the existing continuity.'

Regardless, if it does go that route on VSBW we at least have two different Super logos to use. Golden and Cosmic.

About the remake, that's correct, it's more faithful to the manga according to the official DB website.

Now, in 2026, the anime Dragon Ball Super, based on Akira Toriyama's original work, story, and character design, is set to begin anew as Dragon Ball Super: Beerus! This ENHANCED edition introduces a large volume of newly added and redrawn cuts, as well as a reconstructed narrative. With cutting-edge visual expression, the series delivers even more immersive battle scenes and a more faithful representation of the original manga—bringing an ENHANCED edition to life like never before.

I mean, this is more like a remaster than a remake. If you look at the trailer, you can tell that most of the scenes are from the DBS anime (like Bulma's birthday scene), but who knows what the story will be like. It's also said that they "newly added and redrawn cuts, as well as a reconstructed narrative" rather than the entire story being reconstructed according to the manga, more like they added additional material that they needed to add.

Regarding other things, whether the material can be added to both continuities, we will wait to see how they officially confirm it and I hope it will be like DBZ Kakarot which was stated as supplementary material.

I hope this version shows more destruction and less character dialogue. I want to see galaxies being destroyed and planets turning into atoms.

More specifically, he said “Beerus is a strong enemy” and that he wanted to “focus and bring that out more” (essentially, make more visually impressive) in comparison to the past. But in the past he threatened the Macrocosm, so I don’t know how much higher you can make Beerus go in a raw, visual sense.
I mean it's pretty simple, give him more impressive visual feats. This is how Toei has always depicted strong enemies. Remember how when Broly was first introduced the guy literally busts a galaxy on screen. If you wanna show someone being strong, you give them bigger booms. And with this new animation and newer cuts this is pretty much what they're planning to do as far as I can see. Even in the trailer itself, the impact frames for a lot of the scenes from the original DBS Anime look a lot sharper and more powerful.

I’m not tryna nitpick but that vegeta super saiyan power up when bulma gets hit looks nothing like the movie/manga version it just looks like the anime version lmao
Dude, most of this trailer is literally just the original DBS Anime with some new cuts an animation.
