He doesn’t say that. He says:

“Broly is as big a challenge as ever.”

It’s all about difficulty of combat, not actual strength. All it tells us is that Gohan sees him as unbelievably strong (considerably more powerful than himself) at that time, just like he was when he was a kid. It doesn’t give us any actual range for his strength. In fact, if anything, Broly’s upscaling in Second Coming relies on Gohan’s own strength.

However, more importantly, even if you were right in your interpretation, a bigger issue arises…Gohan never said that.

In the Sub (which would be the higher priority source for our indexing purposes) for that exact same scene, he simply says something like: “Broly is still incredibly strong, even after all these 7 years of training I’ve done.”

To get the exact words, here.

Bottom line, he just says he’s trained to make himself really strong, and that, unsurprisingly, Broly is still crazy powerful/a serious threat despite this. It doesn’t tell us how strong Broly is outside of “Gohan believes him to be a terrifying foe to his current strength level.”

To be frank, any scaling for Broly’s M10 (and M11) Self would be based on whatever chain scaling that Gohan (in M11, Goten, Trunks, and A18) have at that point and applying it to Broly because he’s stronger than Gohan (and everyone else in M11). That’s all.

That still makes Broly way, way, way stronger considering Base Gohan was already stronger than the Base Goku who kicked RSSJ Broly in the mouth so hard that he bled. Even ignoring that, Second Coming still gives us measurable difference between LSSJ and regular SSJ since its a bigger power increase than going from Base to SSJ2.

Said that pretty directly. Though the LSSJ point is worth thinking about, since that implies LSSJ > 100x Boost.

Whatever the gap between him and SSJ2 Gohan is its smaller than the gap between Vegeta and Qui/Dodoria was since he one-shot them with no issues while Gohan can still harm Broly with his attacks and be comparable in speed with him, albeit just to a lesser degree.

While many "pseudo" UIs in fiction arent like DBs UI , whether based on Whis and Beerus statements or what it contextually means to reach such a level, what I really like about UI when it comes to battleboarding, is how it evolves from what ima call "plot armor" in short bursts, into a controlled technique. A controlled techniqe is better than something fleeting/hard to sustain. If you have read a few books, yall notice these pseudo "UIs" are usually displayed when a character is near death, or just a one time thing that never appears again.

I think some authors realize how cooked such a technique is, which is why you dont often see it used as "one button" ability. We even see this in the copy hax section, when a cool ability has only been displayed one time years ago. Maybe they forgot about it? Or maybe they realized how dumb it was? Idk. I remember when Goku used Hakai for the very first time and was like ... "this gotta ba a one time thing" but im glad I was proven wrong, lol.

tl;dr The fact that Goku can use "god mode" as a technique whenever he wants is pretty nuts (im ignoring shit like passive hax)

Hey Mysticc Monii, pretty sure you are lurking here so let me help you out and quickly answer that dudes question. But first things first: hes basically the equivalent of those battleboarders who abuse mathematical theories, acting superiortiy to lower things even though no real-world theory supports their shit. Things like “concepts” having any meaning in multiversal battles are just nonsense. The battle forums have just as many morons as the combat world, so dont pay too much attention to it.

Lets get straight to the point: There were zero quality contact gyms outside of china, and his first mistake is not understanding the different styles of combat Kung Fu. If you want, I can name the ones used in full contact gyms and give you a big list of elite contenders or world champions; just PM me here. A lot of these fighters started with that background, switched to kickboxing, boxing, or other sports, and you can still see some of those techniques in their style. But at the end of the day, its the same thing aka every martial art shares techniques. Its just cool to have different names for the same moves and mechanics.

Dont bother with that guy. Hes just a one of the many “combat watcher” dosser who trains at the gym and thinks he knows everything. 9/10 of the gyms are just fake or fitness gym anyway. How to spot them is easy, if they teach you stance and how to punch before any footwork training, leave it. We are living in a world where a slow motion break down is needed for Gokus good skills, which is so sad and tells you everything you need to know 🤣

Anything can work in combat; we know how much simple things like toughness and aggression can carry everyone and their mother. What matters to me is whether Gokus management of micro skills is good enough for the sport of boxing. Showing your skills in a sport with the deepest talent pool matters to me :D Is Gokus distance control good enough? Or when Goku tries to pivot to the inside angle and throw the right straight down the middle (thats how he lands some of his killer shots)? I think so cause theres a level to everything. Guys with good fundamentals looked like shit against against those with great fundamentals. That little Ukrainian boxer did the same thing to great fighters, he was simply better when it came to fundamentals. Combat sports have always been about A vs. B or C, and countries exploiting the flaws and low talent pools in combat sports. This is more true for some combat sports than for others.

You have the right mindset, but you need someone with KO power, so PM me here if you need any help. Somebodys been using my arguments on YouTube, so just ignore him. I dont use that platform for comments.

You dont seem to be one of those fakenice guys here, which is cool and one thing I like. But asking a Question aint expensive. Let me make my post even simpler. Forget my copy hax comment, since some profiles here would lose their DNA copy ability because the feat they rely on was clearly an outlier, the author forgot about it, or it hasnt been used in at least 5 years all the way up till the end of the series. Retcons are a thing if you pay attention to what you are reading.

In my defense, when I read that comment from the guy with the Sonic avatar who didnt grasp why Ultra Instinct is cool, I thought it was a newer comment.

TL;DR

First: You know what every single martial artist is known for? It happens in short bursts; we dont know exactly when or how but it does happen hence “plot armor in short bursts.” With a technique like UI ist a constant thing since its a controlled technique and has more value to me imo. If you havent read fighting books or dont know the basics of the sweet science of fighting, I can give you a simpler explanation.

Second: Fuckload of pseudo “Ultra Instincts” are just moving without thinkin, which is in the section of muscle memory. But we know from Whis and Beerus that Ultra Instinct separates Gokus mind and body, allowing each part of his body to act and react independently while passively improving. Thats one level above simple "moving without thinking", at least based on the amount of context we got from the authors.

Third: Story-wise, UI is the big D of everything. Its not just a part or a subset of something like in Kengan, FOTNS, Baki, etc. Its the chocolate on top and this is on top of a multiverse that surrounds everything.

Fourth: What not many wankers are telling ya is that them pseudo UIs was shown as a one-time thing or something displayed only when the user is close to death. Goku being able to use such a technique whenever he wants is pretty neat.

A battleboarder trying to insult me and from all friggin sites it must be Vswiki which is a funny thing on its own.. buddy, you left yourself so wide open for a counterpunch, but Im way too happy making fun of that.
