I unironically don’t know how it’d work. They’re pure of Heart, but does Baby’s evil influence remove them from counting? They’re Saiyans, but they’re Tuffles too—When taken over, they actually change species to a hybrid. This is why it’s even called “The Universal Tufflization Plan” and why Baby looks way he does in a primary host. His hybridization is at an advanced state compared to his thralls. So do they count for the sake of the Ritual?

I mean, I imagine they must—They’re still Saiyans and can transform into Super Saiyan. I think I could see the ritual working if we go by the logic of the Oozaru Baby does. Their minds and bodies are still them, they’re just puppets on strings, and the strings are cells/the parasite moving their body around.

This is ignoring how they also literally have their Kis altered to be a corrupted color and their Ki Bestowal is literally wrong looking compared to the pure one we see happening for Goku in both Super and GT.

This then begs the question would it even BE Super Saiyan God? Tuffilization alters the Saiyan forms. “Baby Vegeta” is just Baby going SSJ, and his form looks waaay off. With that in mind, if Baby DID become a SSG in Vegeta, his form should look waaaay off and different.
 
Theory Time...

Dragon Ball GT takes place in the Unseen Timeline and the reason Future Trunks never returned in GT is because Cell killed him and stole his time machine.
 
How canon are the official what if’s in sparking zero? You have glorious shit like cell training for a bit to become UI level, Gohan black, etc
 
If you think about it cell from the cell saga should be equal to a freiza that has never trained. He should only have the power of mutants not benefiting from the potental of the people he has but only there raw power (sayain saga vegeta, king cold,freiza probably deman king piccolo)

As canon as any other official what if in other Dragon Ball games, it's nothing special in that regard.

A lot of them even break the logic of the series and couldn't really work, it's just typical "they get strong enough for the story to work"

The potential of earthlings is insignificant.
Goku and Vegeta peaked at Buu Saga-levels before they achieved God forms which requires either a specific ritual requiring good saiyans or training with a deity like Whis.
Cell can't achieve Ultra Instinct or Ultra Ego because he lacks God Ki and lacks the hard training and lifetime of physical conditioning that Goku has.
So the only characters with potential relevant here are Freeza and King Cold. And Freeza's mutation is just Cold's but better.

In short Cell is a guy with Freeza's potential mixed in with Zenkai boosts and Regeneration. However Goku, Gohan and Vegeta all have statements of reaching Zenkai limits in the manga so Cell would reach a similar hard limit eventually. Leaving him with just being Freeza with regeneration. I guess some Goku techniques like Instant Transmission and maybe Kaio-Ken.

If he trained and could achieve forms like Freeza does then I guess he could achieve a Black Cell form after years and years of training like Freeza did but whether or not Kaio-Ken can stack with Black is completely unknown.

So in the end Cell pretty much just becomes Freeza with IT and Regeneration. Hey wait a second...

it does not have piccolo dna therefore it can reach ultimate piccolo form

Yeah, but it's just Piccolo, the only thing he did is that Piccolo skipped leg day, going from being SJ2 Lever to half different from Rof tournament

Actually, that body should’ve. It was Goku a year into the future due to the Time Ring’s Time Travel to skip the wish cooldown. But they never address it, soooo…?

Zamasu seems to have taken Goku's body at the beginning of the super, that's why he doesn't have divine transformations of red or blue hair, we can also notice Goku's clothes
