Both Yami and All Might have tens of kilometers in range so idk about the range part, especially since Yami has likely Interdimensional range with Dimension Slash

Not often but it's also not too OoC to expect him to use them. He'd definitely use it against AoE attacks (like with Patry's Ray of Divine Punishment)
