Midna: The power bestowed to you by the gods is the only thing keeping you from turning into a spirit. Or worse, a dark monster.

I'm probably paraphrasing a little.

Anyway, Midna clarifies that the Triforce keeps Link from turning into a Shadow Beast. Which is a resistance to transmutation and madness manipulation, as they get the mindset of a Shadow Beast when transformed as well. Quite a few Links resist transmutation, but those that don't should get it too. Same with Ganondorf and Zelda.

To answer the rebuttals:

"Link was turned into a bunny in ALTTP."

Link didn't have the Triforce in that game. Ganon had the entire thing.

"Link was turned into a wolf in that very game."

For one, Zelda isn't though, nor is Ganon. And two, it's a result of the prophecy, which states that Link has to become a blue eyed beast this game. Three, Zant has pretty darn good transmutation given the whole Imp Midna thing. Four, the Master Sword reverts transmutation anyway.

Makes a lot of sense. Though, I thought Link already had resistance to Transmutation and Madness Manipulation from other sources. Still, pretty cool, this reinforces further those defenses.

I think this would fall under Resistance to Corruption rather than Transmutation since the Shadow Beasts are a result of Zant using Ganons magic to corrupt them into demons as stated in the Hyrule Historia (We even have Ganon and Zant as examples on the corruption page for this reason). I know it's basically the same thing but I like being specific, that and Resistance to Corruption sounds way cooler.

And on a related note this should give Ganon (And Zant too) Madness Manipulation via Corruption.

Also on the topic of resistances, shouldn't Midna and Zant have resistance to Soul Manipulation due to being natural inhabitants of the Twilight Realm? Midna is also blatantly unaffected by the twilight infested regions of Hyrule.

I'm...unsure. I always took it as twilight was "toxic" to beings not from the Twilight Realm.
