A question about black holes

Does escaping a black hole really warrant ftl speeds? The reason I ask this is because when you escape from a black hole your net movement would not necessarily exceed the speed of light, therefore , if I understand correctly, you would not undergo the increase in mass that comes from relativistic speeds, and would therefore not require the infinite force that is usually required to exceed the speed of light. My apologies in advance if this has been brought up or explained before.

Actually to escape a black hole you need a net movement which is FTL. (well net movement is a bad term if you deal with relativism)

You have to escape your lightcone, which means you quite literally need to outspeed light.
