My Hero Academia General Discussion Thread #18

It's kind of funny how Deku has several multipliers, but his greatest feat came about with none of them at play and with him being in a weakened state to boot. Deku's hypothetical full-strength is still a complete unknown, and unless MHA gets a sequel, I don't think we'll ever get to see it. Also, by its nature One for All accumulates strength over time. There's a very big gap between Nana's OfA and the version of it that All Might wielded in his prime. Imagine if Deku was given that same opportunity to grow. How strong would an in his prime + 100% Full Cowl + Gearshift/Fai Jin Overdrive + Blackwhip Overlay Deku be? Honestly, the whole thing reminds me of that really old Madara meme.

Going to ask but didn't The storm reach the tips of (or maybe just into) America?

Still Large Country is the highest in series feat And done by our boy of course

Also what would the mega wanked version look like with these numbers in calc

No. We don't have any proof it reached America yet.
 
So now that Deku only has his embers, how long will he actually keep that power? Did All Mights injury speed up his lost of OFA?

who's to say it could go either way? he either turns quirkless like he was, or gains an entirely new power via quirk singularity.
 
All Might’s injury was making him weaker over years, but after transferring, the power really began to go away in just a few days. I’d be shocked if Deku has more than a couple months before the embers are gone.

And that’s assuming he doesn’t get into any fights that make him use up his power more rapidly. Which is literally impossible for him.
 
Yeah with Deku accepting it and everything, he is going to be either quirkless or in a deteriorating state for a long time
 
It should be noted that All Might lost the embers really fast because he had to over-exert himself multiple times (USJ Incident, I-Island Incident, Camino Incident).

Unless we get a sequel, I doubt Deku would have to face any villain that would make him use even 45% of his current OFA. It's a safe bet that he still graduates with a Quirk.

I wonder if previous villains will get an upgrade now since they took hits from 100% Deku.
 
So spoilers for 425 are out and we are Building upto Something this late ? Okay Wild Theory, that man we see is Deku's dad and was in a prison this whole time. He has some kind of restrain on his mouth (fire breathing quirk) which makes me believe so. Endeavor's alive and watching someone on a screen, Toya maybe ? Even though his organs were grilled.

Well we will have to wait a LOT to find out.
 
Flaws within the system have been hinted at for the entire series. Deku, as a character, fundamentally wants to correct these, and he's shown he can change what the world has deemed unchangeable in a seemingly unwinnable battle. There's been a lot of focus on how those who are perceived as different are treated worse, and sometimes this will lead to them having limited opportunities, or fewer things they can do, especially if they're weaker. They're really playing this part up lately. Think, about Shigaraki. The ability he ended up having was literally unable to do anything but tear things apart, is any kid in those circumstances going to see himself as a hero? But he could be. Anyone can be, and that's what Deku wants to convey.

However, there's something wrong, deep in the heart of his world, and defeating All For One and instating a new Symbol of Peace won't fix that.

All this is to say, what if the final battle is green hair man vs society?

That would be cringe. Disney Ending. Not understanding that perceiving differences and threats is exactly why humans are still alive. Well every species is still alive.

But MHA is an idealistic story so I am not expecting a realistic answer like we got in Parasyte or AOT.

Uh, idk what that has to do with what I said, I was talking about racism and abuse of power and people just genuinely getting treated like shit. The younger members of the League of Villains pretty much all ended up there because someone important to them failed them or because of societal issues.

AOT'S "realistic answer" was just the protagonist being, frankly, stupid, being portrayed as a genius, and then just leading into a society where wars are still fought, with far superior weapons.

Yes exactly realistic.

Also I never said I don't like Idealistic shows. My Favorite hero is Superman. I just said that the show won't have a realistic ending.

Shinichi admits that all fights he had were for his own sake, he killed Goto not because of some greater purpose but because of his desire to protect himself and those he loves. He also admits that two species can never understand each other because we are fundamentally different. We kill each other, take advantage of each other for survival and that's all there is to life and it's fine, because it's hypocritical to love Earth, without loving your own species.

Is it optimistic ? Yes. Is it realistic ? Yes.

Realism doesn't mean cynicism. You can be optimistic while being realistic. That's why I referred to these two. AOT ends in cynicism about the nature of conflict, while Parasyte ends with Shinichi realizing that Life is just us trying to understand others, getting closer till we die. For Shichichi the someone being Satomi.

I mean more on the note of Big Bad wolf eating apples for the rest of his life.

I am fine with Deku addressing the problems and making truly positive changes with No opposition but not with world doing backflip and now all criminals are reformed, 0% crime rate with no villains and the world was happy every after.

That's kind of the point. Eren is a false messiah. Up until the end we saw him as his followers did. But around Armin his friend he breaks down to what he truly is. A stupid 19 year old trying to super glue a vase shattered into a billion pieces. No matter what he does, it will end up breaking, he knows it, he has been through it and he lost his mind in the process.
