UNDERTALE/DELTARUNE [shiny new] DISCUSSION THEAD

A human child in high school depicted comparable height, sometimes shorter, than their classmates who also is depicted fairly normal sized to the objects around them probably isn't over 7 feet tall because of a measurement as stupid as "10 feet 20 inches"

Are we seriously going to delude ourselves into believing Kris is unironically 7 feet tall?
It is a bit ridiculous, considering it's pointed out multiple times that Kris is considered short by other people.

I've expressed this before but I do not think "ten foot twenty the flower man" is relating to Asgore as it's a song about Flowery
Various lines refer to Asgore and a few refer to Flowery.

Like this line is from Flowery's POV and has the "Flower Man" as a separate entity.
Could I do something to make him laugh
Inside my little chamber made of glass?

The Japanese lyrics for the song say "10尺20" - Feet is a weird measurement to find in other parts of the world, and as I suspected, the Japanese lyrics are using a different measurement, Shaku. 10.20 Shaku, when converted to Feet, comes out to roughly... 10.14077 feet. Which I guess you could round up to 10.20 feet if you want. This means 10'1" or 10'2" if we're treating it like a character's height.
Dunno if it's fully accurate, but seems neat.

Well, the logic is simple: monsters are big, so furniture and objects have to be large enough for them to use comfortably.

But seriously, I think we should use Asgore's size for feat calculations, but not for determining the size of the rest of the cast, since he's the only one for whom we have something close to a stated, true height.

I'm considering just making my new Undertale calc blog in a bit, waiting for my old calcs to get evaluated has been taking a while and the Giga Queen calcs show I could probably get my Frisk height calc (better support for the 137 cm height we use) accepted by proxy too. I don't think there's any rule for how many unevaluated calc blogs one can have, so I'm sure it's fine.

I know that. You played undertale we already have that on our profiles

Anyway why are the human souls scaling their Self sustenance type 1 from peak determination Frisk they haven't reached that level of power just the fact they are fine being kept in jars long term should probably be enough. Also not sure surviving after the timeline being destroyed would warrant self sustenance they are able to hear Asriel talk and call out to him. There is the fact Asriel says this:
I can feel it...
Every time you die, your grip on this world slips away.
Every time you die, your friends forget you a little more.
Your life will end here, in a world where no one remembers you...

The neutral text for the second phase is "The whole world is ending." Implying that there is something still around at this point.

Also the fact that this happens at seemingly immeasurable speeds so they could have just done every before the lack of air could be a problem.

mean yeah, doesn't make the used justification good also again who are you arguing gets all determination powers.
Not  all of them, that implies subjective reality to every one who can use determination.
Howerver, Save, Loading (and the immortality) should all be given to the characters who have determination

I thought everyone was implied to have at least a little determination what with the monster souls helping Asriel gain control of the time line and Alphys saying it was the concentration of determination that caused the Almagamates to melt and Entry 8 ends with her wondering what happens if you give something without a soul the will to live referring to the creation process of Flowey.

This all makes it seem to me all monsters have at least trace amounts of determination.

Doesn't make sense
Alphys had to study the souls of humans to learn what determination even is

Alright it's done.

Are we gonna get that Flowey burrowing calc? I've been thinking about posting mine for evaluation, but I wanted to wait to see yours
I'm unsure about that calc, would applying shear strength in that way even really be acceptable? I'm pretty sure treating it as fully shear strength wouldn't be fully accurate since I'm sure compressive and tensile strength would play a role in something like this too.

I think your much simpler calc probably lines up with the wiki standards better too anyways.
