Welcome to another one. I'm not trying anything crazy so don't worry.

In this one I want to discuss Plot hax given the events of the second CD Drama but before that I want all of you to understand I am using a fan translation of the CD drama events, all thanks to this guy and his videos where he uploaded the whole thing. The fan translation was possible only because of him as the opening pages of the translation found in divinity statue tell us.


Quick summary about this story:

Morrison comes to Devil May Cry worried that Patty is missing, then the caretaker of the Angel's House Orphanage comes to ask for Dante's help on behalf of Patty and the kids. Kids have been falling asleep and they can't wake up. It all started because a bed sent by "Peter Pan" as charity since the orphanage was being repaired. In truth Peter Pan used the bed to "abduct" the children, Dante is sent to retrieve them, defeats PP and brings everyone back.

The important things come from Peter's abilities.
He can put to sleep anyone who lies down on his magic infused beds. Dante feel asleep unnaturally fast after barely accommodating himself in a bed that was barely half his size.

He can create a dream world and anyone who falls asleep on those beds will enter the dream world and succumb to Peter's powers, since here he has absolute power. It is a separate dimension created by his own demonic power. No one can enter or leave without him allowing it.

Peter not only controls the Dreams to make whatever he wants but he quite literally writes the narrative of his very own "Neverland"

He can design roles for people and this changes their appearance, Dante transforming in a Captain Hook look alike, hook included.

All of this is because of his demonic power and magic but since the demon is so weak Dante says even lesser demons can do better than him.

Pretty sure this should count as Dream Hax and Plot Hax.

Dante of course can do whatever he please, take off his role and even "use" weapons and even enter without Peter's approval.

Dante and basically everyone will get resistance too since everyone and their mom worth their salt with demonic power should be able to do what Dante did.

Also there is the very big possibility of every single demon being able to do this since Dante mentions that other lesser demons have stronger/more impressive powers than this Peter Pan guy

Our options are the following:


1) If only Dante then:

Resistance to Dream manipulation and Plot Manipulation: (Peter Pan was unable to make Dante do as he wants and obey his rules, being able to get out of his character. Peter Pan is able to control his world, imagining everything that happens and being the owner of it and being the main character of it, granting any wish to the people of that place and can change the attitude of other background characters such as animals, changing the rules of the world as well as having a place in his mind where he can "write". He can impose a role on other people, like Dante, by putting him in certain clothes as soon as he enters the Dream World)
It's impossible to enter or leave his kingdom without permission but this is only in the transcript I got and the spanish version so I will avoid this

Possibly resistance to Sleep Manipulation (It's likely that Dante let himself be affected by Peter's demonic powers in order to rescue the children from Neverland)

Argosax will get both sleep manipulation and Dream+Plot hax

Sleep Manipulation (Should scale to Peter Pan's magic which can put to sleep even Dante although the latter was likely letting himself be affected to rescue the missing children. Dante claims Peter Pan demonic power/magic is too weak and even other lesser demons can do a better job than him.)

Now, my biggest issue (besides the obviously bad translations) is how this is all a fan translation and the possibility of checking and double checking everything is outside of my power since I don't speak japanese, so I can't truly confirm if the things said there are exactly the ones in the CD drama. I got a hold of a transcript for the japanese side but things are worse since I don't know the source of this transcript or if it is good, bad, edited, etc.

With that in mind all I will advocate for is a "possible" rating for these abilities. Also, Argosax will get these powers because of his own stuff about having all the powers and forms of all demons.

Everything except the "writing" part is something you can do with Dream Manipulation.

The "writing" part itself is vague. Apparently the character talks about having some secret room where he can write in privacy. This is extremely insufficient for something like Plot Manipulation.

Dante could "move out of character" and Peter was unable to make him follow his rules with Dante stating he follows his own rules and won't follow Peter's anymore. If it was some simple role-play we wouldn't get those statements of him controlling everyone and everything, likewise if a normal human entered they would have been forced to play as Hook and wouldn't be able to just nope that like Dante.

Also when Dante first showed up in Neverland he was immediately transformed into Captain Hook, hook instead of hand and all that but when Dante decided it was enough he tore the suit away and now he was standing with Rebellion and E&I.

The key points that support plot hax is how Peter is able to control the world as if it was a screen play, trying to mimic the story of Peter Pan.

He "writes" the story in his head and the world follows suit, including animals and the people that enter the world are forced into "roles" to play. They have to obey his rules and abide by said roles unless Peter decides on doing something else.

I'm not against Plot Hax, because I can see how people being compelled to play certain roles in a dream world with specific mention of them following a script could fit that bill. I don't know the context behind MGK to discuss it but here it is clear that PP is forcing a story onto people, roles, actions and everything is decided by him. It isn't just called something, it clearly happens according to PP's whims.

It’s because we don’t explicitly see Plot Manipulation; what we see are children playing and an adult coming along to spoil the game. And some of those things could also be achieved using just Dream.

But that's another thing. As others said, things stated in OP can be achieved by dream manipulation just.

Insofar what caught my attention is PP creating dream world.

Plot Manipulation is the ability to create, destroy, or control the plot that governs reality. Commonly found in metafictional stories, the plot can be understood as a fundamental aspect of reality once one views that reality as fictional. It is the description of the world that doesn't only describe, but determines, reality itself.

Unless you have some proof of how Neverland is as real as other worlds, it is some good dream manip. I agree with option 2 and neutral over plot manip

Applications of dream manipulation already include what you mention in a round-about way:

These are not exactly in your favor of it being Plot Manipulation if you wish to argue about the meaning behind specific words.

Following someone else's rules is such a broad ability, even for Dream Manipulation, and limiting it to being Plot Manipulation isn't justified here.

Well, there appear to be instances where dreams are treated as actual realities inside Demon World:

• There is a place in Demon World called "Memory Corridor" where you fight Demons you experienced from the past which is actually explored as a place in the main story of PoC.
• In DMC3 boss rush description, we found out that the player is said to enter in a "dream-like" state and you're blatantly in the Demon World at that point.
• Nightmare teleports you into a dimension where Dante's subconscious takes form there which is further supported by the amount of Sargassos in that place which was previously stated to be Demons that are transcendent, non-existent entities that exists between the reality and the next and the murky recesses of our nightmares.
• Helfilth is considered the source of all nightmares and he lives in his dimension called "Nightmare Space" which is where whoever sleeps gets sent to according to Helfilth's will.

It had always caught my attention that unconsciousness component is treated more seriously in DMC then conventionally verses do. For example, you can always look at Vergil's nightmares taking physical form inside Human World. Combine that with Peter Pan's separate/alternate dimension statement then it is more likely it really is its own metaphysical reality inside Underworld as every aforementioned worlds are. The Morpheus example also seems to have a similar context in relationship to Peter Pan's dream world or any dream world in DMC for that matter, assuming the translation provided by Tony here is true that is.

Yeah, I know that Dream hax can be used to achieve some of those things but not all of them. According to the page, dream hax at its highest level can be used to alter reality and the world of dreams to their will and all that even dragging people in and imprisoning them but it doesn't say anything about controlling people as if they were in a play of sorts (which is what Peter intended to do with his very own Neverland)

Ah this is a mistake of yours, nowhere in the Plot page or the other examples listed is it needed for the world to be as "real as other worlds", only that Plot is used to control the world. Specifically:

Plot Manipulation is the ability to create, destroy, or control the plot that governs reality. Commonly found in metafictional stories, the plot can be understood as a fundamental aspect of reality once one views that reality as fictional.

What that reality is, is up to whatever work of fiction. For example, there are many profiles that state the worlds that are created/controlled are fictional while others just control their own reality.

Now, in this case the Dream World is "real" as it has effects on the people inside it that affect the real world and I don't mean things like injuries. The kids have been trapped there for 3 days and despite that they are in great condition because PP has been taking care of them, feeding them, keeping them healthy, etc.

The point I was making is that they are controlling reality. If I control the data/information of one world to achieve something and I control the dreams in another world to do the same then I am getting the same results, just using different methods.

So, you are saying that writing the story of the world (neverland), forcing roles on others (lost children and captain hook) and forcing people to abide by those don't count as plot hax? Then honestly I don't know what is plot hax.

The problem is that you are taking every description individually instead of taking it all as one thing (which is it, Peter controlling the world and all that). If you take every description individually and independently then sure it doesn't make sense or its too vague, you need to take all the scans and treat them as a single thing.

Also, can you attach the raws of these scans? Preferably all of them. Since you mention that the translation is bad in one of those scans, I prefer translating it myself.

Like I said in the OP, I got a hold of a transcript but I don't know how legit or complete or faithful it is. I know some scans are just wrong while others are meh hence why I can only go for a "possibly" tiering.

I was told that this one is legit which is the one I mentioned in the scans:

パティ「さあ、あたしはこれで帰るからね。あとは大丈夫よね？ダンテ」

ダンテ「大丈夫も何も、俺はお前に世話してもらってるわけじゃねえから、常に一人でも問題ねえよ」

パティ「なによ。掃除から何から私任せなくせに。ダンテだけだったらとっくにこの事務所はゴミ屋敷なんだからね。まあいいわ。許してあげる。今日は気分が良いから」

モリソン「お嬢様はご機嫌麗しいそうだ。さてはこれからデートの予定でも？」

ダンテ「バカ言うなよモリソン。こんなお子様とデートする物好きがどこにいるって言うんだ？」

パティ「ほんと失礼なんだから」

モリソン「それで？お嬢様がご機嫌麗しい理由をお聞かせ願えますか？」

パティ「機嫌がいいのは私だけじゃないわ。孤児院の子もみんなそうなの。あのね、孤児院のベッドが全部リニューアルされるのよ。どこかの優しいお金持ちさんがね、新品のベッドを送ってくれるんだって。それが今日届く予定なの」

モリソン「そいつはハッピーだな」

パティ「でしょ。これでみんなが仲良くしてくれたらいいんだけど」

モリソン「仲良く？どうしたパティ。何か揉め事でもあるのか？」

パティ「ううん。大したことじゃないわ。院長先生がね、自分たちに厳しすぎるって気に入らないみたいで。まあ一時的な反抗期みたいな物だと思うし、みんな単純なお子様だもの。新しいベッドが来れば機嫌が良くしてそんな問題も吹き飛ぶわきっと」

モリソン「そうだな。ぐっすり眠れば気分もよくなるさ。喧嘩なんてきっとしなくなる」

パティ「ありがとうモリソン。ベッドをプレゼントしてくれたのがダンテだったら、あたし鼻高々だったんだけどな。あ、無理よね。ダンテは借金がいっぱいいっぱいあるもんね。同じ大人にも色々いるのよね」

モリソン「言われちまったなダンテ」

ダンテ「まったく。口ばっかり達者になりやがる」

パティ「じゃ、また明日」

フォスター「その新しいベッドが来た日から、パティも他の子たちもみんな眠ったまま」

ダンテ「三日三晩眠り続けるなんざ、よっぽど寝心地のいいベッドなんだろうな。俺にも一つ送ってほしいもんだ。そのベッドの送り主ってのはどんな奴なんだ？」

フォスター「それが住所と名前はわかっているのですか」

モリソン「こいつはまた、えらく遠い所だな」

フォスター「訪ねて行くのもあまりにも遠いところですから。それにあの、お名前が」

モリソン「名前？送り主は…ピーターパン。こいつは偽名だな、どう考えても」

フォスター「ただ子供たちのために何かしたいとお手紙を頂いて、私は表に出ること好まれない謙虚な善意な方かと」

モリソン「院長さん、ピーターパンの話をちゃんと読んだことはありますか？ピーターパンはいつでも隙さえあれば、子供たちを連れ去って行くんだ」

ダンテ「モリソン、俺にもその住所を見せてくれ。なるほど、たしかに遠いな」

ダンテ「誰だよこんな時に。デビルメイクライ。お前か。ああ。そいつはまたエンツォのところにでも届けてくれ。それよりお前今どこにいるんだった？ほう。ちょうどよかった。それなら一つ頼みたい仕事があるんだがな」


「１，２。１，２。進め、進め、胸張って進め。前見て進め。僕らの世界」

ピーターパン「いいぞ、みんな。このピーターパンについて来い。楽しいことがたくさんあるぞ。今日は海へ行って人魚たちと競争だ」

ピーターパン「どうだい？ネバーランドって素敵なところだと思わないかい？」

KIDS「本当にあるなんて思ってなかった」「とっても素敵だわ」「こんな楽しい所は来たことない」
「一日遊んでても怒られない」「お寝坊しても」「夜更かししても」「お菓子ばっかり食べても」「怒られない」

ピーター「そうさ、夢のような所さ。ずーっとここで遊んでいていいんだからね」

ピーター「パティ、どうしてそんな浮かない顔してるのさ？」

パティ「ここはどこなの？」

ピーター「だからさっきから言ってるだろ？夢の国、ネバーランドさ」

パティ「どうしたら帰れるの？」

ピーター「まさか。帰りたいだなんて言うんじゃないだろうね。こんな楽しいところから帰りたいだなんて考えられないよ」

KIDS「そうだよパティ。笑ってよ。一緒に遊ぼう」

パティ「ここへ来てどれくらい時間が経ったのかわかってる？」

KIDS「時間？そんなの楽しくて忘れちゃったよ」

KIDS「そうよ。元の世界に戻っても私達を待ってる人達なんていないもの」

ピーターパン「そうさ。僕らは大人たちから見捨てられたロストボーイなんだ。でもここなら楽しく暮らしていける。大人になんかならないで、永遠にここで楽しく暮らそう。」

パティ「嫌よ」

ピーターパン「お前は大人になりたい馬鹿者だな。いいか、ネバーランドの約束事を教えてやる。ここは永遠の子供の世界だ。少しでも大人になろうとする裏切り者はビリビリに引き裂いてやるからな」



フォスター「ここが子どもたちの寝室です」

モリソン「なるほど、見事に眠ってるな」

ダンテ「こんな呑気な現場は初めてだな」

フォスター「みんなどうして目を覚まさないの？　お医者様も知らない病気？　それとも何かの呪い？」

ダンテ「このベッド」

フォスター「え？」

モリソン「やっぱりそいつが怪しいのか」

ダンテ「そうだな…魔力を感じる」

モリソン「ピータパンからのとんだ贈り物ってわけだな」

ダンテ「タチの悪いネバーランドに連れて行かれたらしい」

フォスター「あの、どういうことなんでしょうか」

ダンテ「信じる信じないは自由だがな。このベッドはおそらく悪魔が作った物だ」

フォスター「あ、悪魔？」

ダンテ「大方、眠った者を夢の世界に閉じ込めるとかそんな感じだろうな」

モリソン「どうするダンテ？　夢の中がどんな物かはわからんが、子供たちだけで戻ってこれるとは思えんぜ。」

ダンテ「この様子だとそもそも帰りたがってねぇって可能性もあるがな」

モリソン「パティだけ様子が違うみたいだが、院長先生。空きのベッドはありますか？」

ダンテ「おい、モリソン。勘弁してくれ。こんな小さいベッドで眠れねぇよ」

モリソン「仕方ないだろ。それしか方法はなさそうだ」

モリソン「寝心地はどうだ？」

ダンテ「子守唄じゃ少し刺激が足りないな。それにどちらかと言えば寝かしつけるほうが得意なんだよ」

フォスター「あら、意外とお利口さんね。私ったらこんな時に失礼なことを。すいません、つい癖で」

モリソン「寝不足だったんですよ。パティのことが気になって、昼寝もできなかったみたいでね。顔に被った雑誌の隙間から窓の外を見ていましたよ」

フォスター「優しい方なのね。パティが大好きになるはずだわ。きっと助けてくださいますわよね。ダンテさんが」

モリソン「大丈夫。口は悪いが腕は一流です。それにもう一人心強いのを手配してありますよ」

ピーターパン「お気に召さなくてもその服は着てもらわなくちゃ困るのさ。僕はピーターパン。そしてここは僕の作ったネバーランド。そこにずかずか入ってきた忌まわしいあんたは、フック船長ってわけさ」

ダンテ「ふん、なるほどね。それで手には鉤爪ってわけか」

P「子供たちは連れてきたけれど、フック役がいなかったからね。あんたが来て丁度良かった。ネバーランドには大人はいられない約束だけど、ヒーローの魅力を際立たせるには嫌われ者のライバルが必要だからね」

ピーターパン「僕の発見を君たちに伝えようと思う。我らがロストボーイズ、永遠の敵キャプテンフックが出現したんだ」

パティ「ダンテ。助けに来てくれたの？」

パティ「みんな帰りたがらないし、あたし一人で帰るって言っても帰り方がわからないし。みんな楽しいことに流されてあのピーターパンに洗脳されてるのよ。どうしよう。どうしたらみんな帰る気になってくれるかな？」

ダンテ「そろそろみんな気づいてるだろうさ。あれが張りぼてのピーターパンだってな」


KIDS「ピーター帰って来ないな」「なんか変なよね、ピーターのほうが弱い感じ」「もっと格好良くないとな」

ピーターパン「みんな、無事か？」

KID「ピーター、時計ワニは？」

ピーターパン「ちょっと遠くでコテンパンにのして、吊るしてきてやったぞ」

KID「誰も嘘だなんて言ってないよ、ピーター」

ダンテ「俺が何かするまでもなかったな。完全に化けの皮が剥がれてやがる」

パティ「思ったより早かったね」

KIDS「なんかリーダーカッコ悪い」「必死なんだもんなぁ」

ダンテ「やれやれ。これで少しは涼しくなったな。普段の服上にあの衣装じゃ暑くて敵わない。どうするピーターパン？お待ちかねの見せ場だぞ」


ピーター「ビビることなんかないんだ。ここは僕の世界だ。銃なんか撃たせないぞ。僕の頭の中がそのままルールなんだ」「何どうして？」

ダンテ「そんなちゃちな魔力じゃ、何も知らねぇガキどもならまだしも、俺を相手に好き放題しようなんてのは無理な話だな。お前なんかよりどっかの城で見たマリオネットのほうがよっぽどマシな力持ってたぜ」「さあ、俺も衣装を脱いだんだ。お前も脱いだらどうだ？」

ピーター「さっきの銃か。ちくしょう。掠ってやがったのか。衣装が！やばい！元の姿に戻っちまう！見るな！」

ピーター「魔力で保っていたのに…」

ダンテ「本当のピーターパンのお出ましだ」

パティ「ハゲてる」ピーター「言うな」KIDS「脂っぽい」ピーター「言うな」「肌汚い」「足が臭い」

ピーター「嗅いだことないくせに！お前ら…さっきまで僕のこと…ピーターって言ってたじゃないか。嘘だったのかよ」

ピーター「調子に乗るんじゃねえぞ。俺にそんな態度取っていいのか？元の世界に戻っても良いことがないんだぞ？誰もお前らを必要としてないんだ。だが、ここはどうだ？夢のようなところだろ？お前らだって楽しんだだろう。そして、この世界を造ってやったのは俺なんだよ。俺が本当は汚いおっさんだろうがなんだろうがその事実は変わらねえんだよ。帰るのか？帰る？帰る所なんかないよな。誰も待っちゃいないんだもんな？なぁ？」

ダンテ「もう三日間、昼は駆けずり回って、夜は寝ずにああしているんだ。早く帰ってやらないとぶっ倒れるぞ」

KIDS「帰ろう、先生が僕らを待ってるんだ」「私達を待ってるのね」

パティ「あそこよ。ベッドの上で丸まってるわ」

パティ「あれでも大人なのかしら？」

モリソン「まあ、しかし今日だけは勘弁してやってくれ。おい、院長先生のところに行かなくていいのか？」

パティ「しょうがないわ。ダンテにおはようを言ってあげる人がいなかったらかわいそうだもん」

モリソン「おっと。そいつは失礼しました。お優しいことで」

It's probably best to translate it. Is there a translation by Devil's Lair? They've done a lot on that front.
