Deltarune: Chapter 5 (SPOILER!!) Discussion Thread

Man was that a good chapter. I will say I really wasn't feeling the Dark World at first, but it improved FAST once Aqua showed up and the 2D gimmick got introduced, and from there it just kept getting better and better. Flowery in particular went from the most annoying mf in the chapter to being genuinely amazing.
Still doesn't beat CH3 for me, but it's definitely a close second.

Wait you specifically brang up the wheat point and the Susie statement (from what I'm seeing your reply) but not anything else, does that at least mean my other points at least have some validity?
 
Whose side are you even on, Ralsei? Chooses not to use his apparently busted fire magic on the Titan for some reason, but then uses it on a random shuriken that wouldn't have done anything. I can't stay mad at him, though.

Honestly, one disappointment I had with the Chapter was the Asgore treatment. And this isn't even about him not getting a boss fight or anything, because that clearly would've made zero sense with the story Toby was trying to tell, but man did he feel like an afterthought.

The whole mystery around what exactly ruined his life is still basically left untouched.
Like maybe it's being saved that for a future Chapter, but it def made it hard for me to care when the only new information we really got is that he knew about Dark Worlds.

Another thing is how weirdly fast his character shift felt. He goes from being pretty carefree with Flowery at the start, and like sure he was putting on an act, but the jump from that to being outright hostile toward Kris and co, and then toward the Flowers, felt way too sudden for something that was supposed to be a gradual buildup.
So after the Flowery fight when he runs toward Kris and goes "I understand now that what I did was wrong." It just felt... kinda unsatisfying? Nothing particularly huge happened to make him change his mind. He just kinda does and we're expected to roll with it. I dunno, it just didn't land for me.

Also he's a ******* BUM. "I will kill the Knight and drag its corpse through the Town" and then when the Knight actually shows up he does absolutely NOTHING.
He just stood there! Asgore man why are you so ass

I mean people wanna talk about the Chapter as they're progressing through it, that sorta stuff def shouldn't be on the main thread.
