That's moreso the soul mechanics of JJK than SSK.
You will have a hard time healing your own soul if you don't know the shape of it. Others will have a doubly hard time because projecting RCT is rare, healing others with RCT is harder than healing yourself due to biology and effectiveness, you'll need to know the shape of their soul too. It's why Todo's arm isn't back.

You're typing much of what I did with one exception. There's no hard rule that output RCT can't regrow a limb, those who output RCT just have a harder time because it requires even more energy, effectiveness, and some biological compatibility. Though if you remember that shoto and others have essentially regrown enough blood, flesh, organs, and bone to reattach people, it should be more than enough for half or a third of an arm. Mahito just has a much easier time because his soul manipulation is generally much better and can do far more than RCT.

Bypass as in stop RCT from healing? I doubt it. Yuji doesn't do pure "leave a hole in your soul you can't heal from" damage like SSK. What he seems to be doing seems more unique to a Mahito and incarnated sorcerers thing which is why him punching Sukuna was providing completely different effects than Maki stabbing Sukuna with SSK. Even when he kept punching Sukuna he was weakening the connection between Sukuna and Megumi's soul which isn't at all what SSK does. It likely doesn't affect non-incarnated sorcerers, non-mahito, non-multi soul people the same.

It's not confusing I think you're attributing things to SSK & Yuji that aren't actually attributes of either but moreso attributes of the series power system.
Anything in JJK that does damage to your soul, real damage, can't be healed/can't be healed easily unless you know the shape of your soul and have RCT of some sort to heal the damage. It's not an attribute of the SSK, which is why Tsurika/Tsurugi cutting Maru doesn't leave permanent damage on him. They didn't know the shape of souls, therefore don't attack his soul, therefore he doesn't need to know the shape of his soul to heal the cut they left on him.

yeah, thats where my question comes from,
when you know the soul, SSK is stated to deal damage unable to be healed without the one being damaged knowing their soul as well
yuji doesn't seem to have this degree of soul damage

Ok, I guess if rephrasing it like that, Yuji doesn't do what the SSK does. Yuji doesn't throw a punch at you then leave a hole in your soul, he can tug at the contours of your soul which can disrupt your connection to the other souls housed in one body. So yea, he doesn't have that type of soul damage. It's why he doesn't do the stab to chest and kill you maki thing.

The arguments work loosely. I wouldn't call it absurd if you're solely just looking to argue. But personally, the story doesn't frame anyone as 5-B so I don't believe it.
