Rule Violation Reports (New forum)

Can we just block TR from being updated at this point? This isn't gonna stop until a hard rule is passed that blocks any current or future attempts to revive TR.
Feel free to make a Staff Discussion thread.

It isn't insanely bad. It's pretty much what you expected from the sentence structure. Still, it is intolerable.

We need to determine whether we think LostLightt is a sock, in a formal capacity. If we do not find the evidence compelling enough, then the behavior in that thread towards LostLightt, is really really bad based on presumptions. It's bad if he is Vzearr, but I'm not going to recommend even warnings in this scenario.

Personally, LostLightt's case aligns too obviously with Vzearr's to be anything but a sockpuppet, imo. We've established Vzearr as a sockpuppeter using VPNs, I can say from the log that LostLightt is also certainly using VPNs. I can say that other elements of his sign up info also strike me as being highly suspicious (I can share this information with high ranking staff, but not publicly).
The community's conduct there in general was extremely unhelpful and provocative. I was about to crack down on it but then this happened overnight.
I don't know about warnings, but I would like to beg everyone to please be less provocative next time (which I'm assuming there's going to be at this rate). Everyone spurring him on to crash out and scale TR again ironically only made it much harder to tell if he was a sock, since both behaviors now had an external reason.

In any case, I've always agreed they were a sock, I just couldn't prove it. It's worth noting that their writing style changed multiple times since the last investigation, even further indicating some kind of fake style, along with the fact that I couldn't confirm anything about their past, and of course everything brought up previously.

FinePoint is correct, this is a serious thread intended to discuss serious topics. Move to message walls, DMs, General Discussions, or Fun and Games Boards if you want to post memes for fun. Keep it off this thread or other similar important management related threads.

To be fair, I agree that we also provoked him. A lot of comments trying to rage bait him, and successfully rage bating him resulted in this situation we’re currently in.

I think the correct course of action would be closing that thread as soon as it was posted and instruct the user to take it to their sandbox.

We should certainly be more proactive on our end, yes. I plan on it, at least.

We've generally set a precedent to be very lenient with fun and games threads, so I was hesitant, but clearly it was causing issues.

I think we need to have a precedent on future threads like these in the future. They seem to serve no purpose other than to rile up people and supporters into needless wars that I think we are better off without.

We also need to have a serious discussion on granting too much leniency to repeat offenders who violate our code of conduct. Time and time we have seen such people get off too easy because of one staff's insistence of them being "helpful" or having IRL problems, none of which are an excuse to keep repeating said behavior. Once or twice may be understandable, but doing it repeatedly and doubling down is just plain unacceptable and just serves to be a mockery of our site's rules.

I don't know if we need to like, change our policy, but this series of incident will surely remain in our memories for the next decision.

I don't think a policy change is strictly necessary, just that we need to be much, much stricter from here onwards.

I’m confident that whoever did this was a staff member, because it’s a personal blog and no one else should be able to modify it except me.

Yesterday I decided to open a blog for a new character in Instant Death, and I worked on it all day but didn’t finish it. Today, I found that someone had deleted everything inside the blog and now it’s completely empty, and I don’t understand why. It’s my blog, so why would a staff member delete what was inside it?

I don’t know if other users are able to edit personal blogs, but this is what happened. I went back to continue editing and found that everything I had done was gone.

Apparently, you didn't make an actual blog but wrote everything to the comment of this image. I might be wrong about it though.

No, I didn’t do that.

I know how to create a profile, and as I told you, I had almost finished it. Only a few minor additions and edits were left. I had already saved it, and it was visible to others just like any normal profile. As I said, this isn’t my first time creating a blog or a profile.

Someone deleted everything inside the blog—that’s exactly what happened.

This was it, no?

If so, it seems like you didn't make a blog and wrote everything to the same file the jpeg belongs to. Antvasima reverted it as it is "Inappropriate content for an image file".

No blog you made was deleted you can check the deletion log yourself. And as Tayman said you put the contents of that page in the page of the file rather than a blog or a sandbox as shown in your contributions.

Anyway, what are we gonna do about LostLightt? Should he also be permabanned?
I'm not convinced that LostLightt is a Vzearr sock, yet. So I'd say no.

I want to report @GodEarh206

After making a vs thread, realizing their favorite character (look at their banner) is the one losing. They started to directly refuse to count the votes. Even after Grace ENDED.
To this moment, the OP is still not updated. It is vote manipulation at its finest I believe.

I didn’t understand anything. I mean, I went to add a category and typed the category name, but it didn’t accept the name. It didn’t even accept the character name. I even created a category with a random name, and when I tried to edit it, I couldn’t, and I couldn’t even delete it. So what is even happening?

Even changing the name or deleting what I created is not allowed. It’s just a name.

IMAGES have their own PAGE. You accidentally edited the IMAGE PAGE instead of your blog

Just go to the history of the Image page and copy and paste your edit into your actual Blog

The reason it got deleted is that IMAGE PAGES shouldn't have content in them, and Categories
Hence, Antvasima removed the categories and the content, as it wasn't proper to have a profile on an IMAGE PAGE

https://vsbattles.fandom.com/wiki/File:Ultimate_God.jpeg - This is an Image Page

https://vsbattles.fandom.com/wiki/User_blog:Azertyhuuh This is where you should create your blog post

Stop editing that page and go to your own blog. I made a copy in this sandbox of the profile you made

Also, you shouldn't put categories on blog posts or sandbox profiles. those are reserved for official profiles and pages.

You just created a category called USER BLOG and put the content of the blog you wanted to make in that category. If you want to make a blog go to your profile and go to the blog tab and press "Create new blog", if you want to add a category to a page (which you shouldn't do in a blog) just link to that category in the page.

Also this isn't the thread to ask about editing help in the wiki, if you have a problem make a Questions and Answers thread for that.

I already know all of that.

The problem is that when I try to add a name in the category section, it rejects the name I want. It shows me other names I don’t want. I want the character name I’m working on, not the names it suggests or forces on me. I created a page with a random “user blog” name, and when I tried to change that name, I couldn’t figure out how, or there is no way to change it or even delete it.

I just want to edit the name from (User Blog) to “Ultimate God”, that’s all.
I don’t know why, whenever I explain, no one understands what I mean.
I don’t think this needs to be handled or discussed in RVR. Please ask staff members or experienced users to help you or clarify any misunderstandings about creating blogs or pages before bringing it to RVR. You cannot change your blog names, only content mods can so ask them next time.

Actually for blogs of other users in particular not even content mods can edit them or rename them, only admins can. But yeah this whole thing shouldn't have been brought up here in the first place.

Only Content Moderators with temporary Administrator rights can.

However, since it's difficult for regular users to tell the difference, it's better to just call an Administrator for these cases.

P.S. This also serves as a reminder for future users.

Bump in case this gets buried

I have concerns about the recent posts made by MidTierScaler on this thread.

First, the comment linked in question is inflammatory and inappropriate, and I have taken the liberty of removing it for this reason. Second, an accusation was put forward earlier in the thread that MidTierScaler is a sockpuppet account, though no one specified who it could be a sockpuppet of. For some reason, I can't access the linked Imgur album on my end that supposedly provides evidence, however I do find it suspicious that a completely new account seems to be talking a lot about the way that verses were scaled on the Versus Battles Wiki in the far past.
just because your fav verse got nuked to the ground as most verses here anyways doesn't give you the right to lash out at people
A comment like this, for example, is rather unusual coming from someone who's first ever comment was only two days ago.

To address the first issue, I would recommend at least a warning to not engage in further inflammatory behaviour. I think that part is obvious - I'm mainly bringing this here to address the accusation put forward against MidTierScaler, as I lack context to properly assess it. An examination of past CM involved users and IP overlaps may be warranted.
