It's not canon because valentine cards don't add anything to the lore.Wasn't there something about Undyne making a heart-shaped hole in a boulder in the Valentines Newsletter card? I don't recall if there's anything decanonizing that regarding UT, but it might be a bit dubious.
Tragic. Thanks for answering.
The candy and meaty joke...strike back
Why are you so obsessed with thatThe candy and meaty joke...strike back
decided to take a crack at this and got 1195917.76 Joules or 1.19591776 megajoules, don't how how valid it is, but its something.Dogi axes. Probably not anything big, but they shake the screen ig
Just want to say that Game runs with 30 fpsdecided to take a crack at this and got 1195917.76 Joules or 1.19591776 megajoules, don't how how valid it is, but its something.
alr thanks, mainly did the 60fps thingy because that's what the video where the feat comes from plays at.Just want to say that Game runs with 30 fps
Uncanon (or not canon) stuff are events that normaly dont make sense inside the story due lack of continuity. Why are you so obsessed with that
Candy and meaty.what
"Wood can be used to stoke the fire which melts the girl's icy heart."
"The stronger you get, the more you can CUT, but you can't do it alone."
"Will do anything to protect HERO_SWORD."
Interesting...
"Revealing the succulent candies and meats hidden inside of the characters from the classic game series you know and love."
???
You should update the calc, but my math says this tanks the feat to 0.2990 Megajoulesalr thanks, mainly did the 60fps thingy because that's what the video where the feat comes from plays at.
I heard you finally can see kris is able to retcon events and lived events before.Based on what Echidnacodefan 2512 said, "revealing the succulent candies & meats hidden inside of the characters from the classic game series you know and love." may refer to revealing the hidden truths/canons & falsehoods/noncanons within those characters?"The hero that can wield an axe. Previously an antagonist, but in an emotionally moving event, she joined the side of light. A stunning replica of your favorite character from the classic game series you know and love. Using the axe, this hero can chop down the trees at a lower level than the other controllable characters. Wood can be used to stoke the fire which melts the girl's icy heart. But, it's said that the greatest fuel of all is friendship. Axe not included."
"The hero wields a sword. How you use the sword determines the story! A stunning replica of your favorite character from the classic game series you know and love. Using the sword, this hero can chop down hedges and baddies alike, revealing the succulent candies and meats hidden inside of the characters from the classic game series you know and love. The stronger you get, the more you can CUT, but you can't do it alone. True strength lies hidden within your friends! Sword not included."
"The hero that can wield an axe. Uses powerful healing magic. Will do anything to protect HERO_SWORD. A stunning replica of your favorite fluffy character from the classic game series you know and love. His long scarf can be used to hang onto hooked objects, which will allow you to cross gaps and scale tall tall heights. Some say it looks like lips or the tongues of a long lizard, which is another charming point in favor of this velveteen masterpiece. Fluffiness not included."
Which is strange to be revealed in the context of "chopping down hedges & baddies". Why would chopping them down reveal what's canon & not? The meat of the story & the sweet little lies that mislead us? (Or falsehoods, whether born of audiences' presumption or otherwise.)
Still, that phrasing, introducing "baddies" & then implying they're the "characters from the classic game series you know and love." implies that Mantle's enemies are indeed UT/DR characters.
Curious that she's said to have joined the side of Light. I guess the Delta Warriors are such a side.
Why could wood stoke the fire that melts the girl's icy heart? A wooden stake? The trees of the forest? A pencil like what Kris may wield?
It's curious she's noted as being able to cut down trees at a lower level than the other playable characters. Besides suggesting physical superiority, &/or better stat growth, it also suggests HERO_SCARF can cut trees.... As well as being just curious, since cutting trees is an obstacle in the narrative of "Mantle". HERO_AXE being able to do it sooner/more easily.... I mean, maybe it's just Axes being better for chopping trees than swords & scarves, but.... Once again, Susie having more freedom/control/power than the Player implication?
The fact that HERO_AXE joined after an emotionally moving event suggests Mantle/TV Time! has a history that parallels Deltarune. We don't see how nor why HERO_AXE joins in either game. In one, she's there when the right controller is plugged in, in the other she's there when a certain level is begun.
The fact we don't see this means either it's meant to be a mystery -Which would be strange. I'd be surprised if we revisited this game format.- or we don't need to see it, which, in fiction is often because it was something we saw already. (Or very close to it.)
Perhaps that's a bit speculative, but that would suggest their stories are similar, meaning whatever is told about the heroes of Mantle/TV Time! likely holds truth about their out-of-game counterparts.
Mysteriously, CUT is in all-caps, as though it's a special action or an anagram? Surely it's not important enough for that like LOVE was in Undertale? Cutting is special in Mantle, as its needed to progress, but what.... CUT away bonds or something?
Yes
No
- Oh, Kris! It's a free editable CYBERPEDIA! I'll add an entry...!
- (Ralsei wrote an article about LOSING RECRUITS. Read it?)
- From now on, defeating enemies with violence will make them LOST.
- LOST enemies cannot become RECRUITs ever again.
- But, the bonds you break may make you stronger...
* (Who has time to read a book in the Cyber World?)
Probably unrelated.
Perhaps most intriguing is "How you use the sword determines the story!". Kris's sword can turn into a shield, in a very literal sense, in the Dark World. Is it as simple as that?
Is it because the White Pen of Hope might be a sword, given pens might be Kris's weapon? But it's called a pen, not a sword by someone already in the Dark World, & it's entering the Dark World that makes pens swords, & the quote is from a writer.
.....The Twisted Sword, maybe? But if it can be used to determine the story in more than 1 way, that feels like a question that leaves more questions than answers.
...."Determines the story".... Determination...? Didn't Toby Fox recently preview Chapter 5 dialogue suggesting Shadow Crystals are tied to Determination? (Though I've seen an intriguing theory that they may also just be despair.)
If the Twisted Sword were made of Determination, its Trance Down effect.... If it's meant to be opposite to the ThornRing's Trance effect.... Determination forms the Dark World, & with it, you can defy a Trance? Defy what the Dark Worlds make you perceive, maybe? Is it to do with Dark Worlds being illusory, or because the Thorn Ring puts the wearer into a trance? Mind Manipulation? Lots of speculation.
HERO_SCARF's healing magic being called "powerful" is interesting.
I saw a comment noting that his description focuses mostly on how he's cute, how he looks & his use as a tool for the player. "His long scarf can be used to hang onto hooked objects, which will allow you to cross gaps and scale tall tall heights." (Also, that's a Zelda location name reference, pretty sure.)
"Some say it looks like lips or the tongues of a long lizard, which is another charming point in favor of this velveteen masterpiece."
A long lizard? I saw comments noting that this suggests a snake, which are associated with betrayal.
Besides that.... Jockington significance? I don't know of any other "long lizards" significant in this series.
But then again, what would saying it looks like lips mean? Just a joke about looks?
Also, it's weird that it says "velveteen". The replica says "fluffiness not included". Is the IRL merch even plushies or fabric or whatnot? If not, strange to call a replica of pixels "velveteen". I remember Ralsei's dialogue for being DOWNed/SWOONed against The Roaring Knight saying Ralsei became a pile of fluff.... But I'm pretty sure that's meant to reference Earthbound's teddy bear text, meant to pair with the party member KO text of Mother (1)/Earthbound Beginnings saying a party member was "hurt & beaten", which is echoed by Susie.
The word brings to mind the Velveteen Rabbit, though. It's an old story about how toys can become real through the love of their owners & how a velveteen rabbit ultimately becomes a real rabbit.
But while there might be some loose parallels (Like the classic fantasy of objects being given life.), I'd be surprised if there's a connection. & I certainly don't see how it could apply to Ralsei. Ralsei becoming a real Lightner? For what purpose, narratively speaking?
Oh & of course, "Will do anything to protect HERO_SWORD.". AKA, the one that represents the player in Mantle. Though I'm not sure it's overlaid over the SOUL in TV Time!
Still, that suggests, especially with the snake stuff the worrying notion that Ralsei's loyalties may not wholey lie with the Delta Warriors....
Quite intriguing stuff.
Hopefully no one minds my rambling about this.
Basis?I heard you finally can see kris is able to retcon events and lived events before.
Likewise, what's the basis for Kris "having memories like Susie voice"?will someone read this ? Because i wanna argue something similar about this due kris having memories like susie voice in the beginning of ch 1 in unused code or even ch 4 whem you interact with the book inside the fountain
The hole in playertownBasis?
Likewise, what's the basis for Kris "having memories like Susie voice"?
I assume by "even ch 4 whem you interact with the book inside the fountain", you're referring to the "peculiar book" in the library?
Watch this (echidna posted it earlier).Basis?
The hole in playertown
Ah.Watch this (echidna posted it earlier).
In short: if you have beaten Jevil any time before but not in current save file, you can go west of castle town, and get there shadow crystal and Jevilknife/Devilstail. So we basically retcon us not beating Jevil.
This concept actually sounds dope, so I will try to check something
As a Brazilian, this is very likely.Chat I think Brazil is going to kill Toby Fox

Kris does often show a disregard for books, or just reading in general.I was more talking about
"Usually, you dont pay attention to them"
The books
"This time, you did. That's all"
Why "this time" ?
About music theme in ch 4Kris does often show a disregard for books, or just reading in general.
But Chapter 4's world is full of them, & it's somewhat music-themed, plus, it's a book at the back side of a bookcase, which is kind of an unusual place.
There is no neuter pronoun in Portuguese. I mean, it exists, it's the same as the masculine pronoun but sometimes it can also be feminine, it's kind of hard to explain.Soo how you guys feel about neutral pronoums?
Every time the masc/neuter pronoun is used, a citation/asterisk appears. Once the credits roll, you will be forced to sift through the piles of citations explaining how it’s being used. There is no neuter pronoun in Portuguese. It means that Susie apparently knows the definition of Apatheia. Wasn't aware she was into stoic philosophy. Also more proof that her biggest issue with reading and writing is a desperate need for glasses.
There are also the pronouns that LGBT people use. They invented their own neutral pronoun, but it's not official in our language, it's not in the dictionary, and if you write those pronouns in an essay it will be considered a grammatical error.Every time the masc/neuter pronoun is used, a citation/asterisk appears.
