The Amazing Digital Circus General Discussion Thread [Spoilers]

Just noticed that the "grand finale" is coming June 19th, as stated at the end of the episode.

As a fan of DHMIS, it's a significant date in that series as well. Comes up a lot.


Maybe Gooseworx is a fan? Though I suspect it was probably chosen mostly for the funny, or is just a coincidence. (Or because it's almost precisely 3 months away.)

Arguably, Deltarune Chapter 5 may come in June, too. Stacked summer season approaching....

With the caveat according to Kinger that it requires more skill & concentration for them, as opposed to Caine, for whom it comes natural to.
For him to load up Caine's code, for example, something he apparently helped make (Albeit, possibly years ago?), he needed a console, as opposed to just being able to "conjure" (as he puts it.) up one for himself to use.

Kind of neat/weird that Caine's code can be accessed/loaded onto objects within the circus. Guess it makes sense in video game logic, even if it took a bit of time for him to notice; There's some tidbits in the text on the computer screen at times.

Next episode will be interesting, though, given all the implications that the circus is tied to Caine. It already seemed like it was falling apart. What comes next?

I'm a little sad we didn't get to see any of the "Adventures", but I guess there wasn't time/budget/focus/enthusiasm/concept for it.
We saw a several days later thing, but we don't know how much time was in-between each.

Characters trapped in a Neverending cycle, nothing ever changing, going on wacky adventures but they never actually mean anything, it just keeps them distracted. Everything under control of a puppet master.

There's also the fact that the number of people Caine was torturing in the last part before being deleted is 5, the same amount of survivors in IHNMAIMS, and they were specifically being tortured with insecurities and other problems they face, similarly to the survivors of the original story

It isn't? I mean, Kinger said that they were working on creative AI, but they got in via a headset, & if it's not a game, what has Caine been interfacing with?

Kinger said it himself, everything in the circus, Caine made it, all of it.
 
When I first saw the trailer, I thought this episode would center on Caine and how he tried (and failed) to make things better. Only for Caine to finally make up his mind, or for Kinger to step in, so they could finally have a Creator-Creation conversation, ending the episode that way.

I wasn't expecting THAT.
 
Caine has full access to their minds and memories, as described by him saying that he used their "Mind Files" in order to construct bodies fitting for them. We then see him give them ironic torments based on their traumas:
  • Pomni seeing Gummigoo as a monster attacking her.
  • Ragatha being antagonized and abused by her mother who is a dark reflection of her.
  • Zooble drowning in a sea of body parts with mirrors to mock them.
  • Gangle surrounded by murals of artwork that slowly melt, representing her failing art career.
  • Jax mocked over the loss of his friends and having his "mask" (the skin over his face) pulled off

It has been noted by the crew that Pomni is the big outlier having no parallel in IHNMAIMS. Her involvement is like the spanner in the works that allows them to be able to be free of Caine.

Okay, so Caine, a digital being, made a digiral simulation accessed via a headset. A VR (Virtual Reality) game you can't leave. A video game? Or at least, very similar to it. All the same, it's surprising where his code would be accessible & there's still the question of if those who theoretically got in without headsets could "conjure".
 
Official confirmation that Caine did create the Digital Circus. Sort of was implied but good to know. Does that do anything for Caine's creation scaling? Or pretty much as it was before?

Also, sort of almost implied that the crew could in time learn to create on the same level as Caine, just would take more practice. So potential to see hem eventually scale up to his level of creating starry skies. (Predicting that the final episode shows them fixing the Circus, the stars in the sky reappearing and all that.)

Important to note that the swearing filter goes away when Caine does, so the 'family-friendly all ages' shtick was all his idea.

At least dhmims seens to be more easy to break the cycle, since every seens to fall apart when they leave the house
