There's some pretty cool tier 6 stuff. With the current ratings nothing that'd lead to an upgrade but realistically still some of the best feats in the franchise.
Has anything Bananza-related been properly calced yet? Even if nothing leads to an upgrade, having more feats for a franchise like Mario is always nice.

There's literally numerous feats better than them but the site just has a stick up it's ass lol

Not that I know of.
What are the feats?
Off the top of my head, K. Rool getting punched into the sky and wiping away clouds in a huge area, and a massive pillar of bananas shooting from the core of the Earth all the way to the surface with DK riding it. There's probably more low tier 7 and high 8 stuff.

And are there new hax/resistances?

No clue, I haven't played the game, I just looked up the final boss.

Yeah I have a sticky I just like
frugot to convert it to wiki stuff...
It's just a bunch of tier 8 feats tho and like Class M and G feats.

So, uh, I hope that the Mario vs. Donkey Kong series is no longer considered "canon" (if that term has any meaning for Mario) since the release of Donkey Kong Bananza.

It still is, not much reason not to consider it canon. If you're concered about the Pauline age thing just know that she's both younger than DK and also older than his dad, this series does not have a strict timeline it follows and will change things like age on a per game basis if they feel it'll work better for that specific game.

My concern is that if Mario vs Donkey Kong is canon, timeline/lore-wise it might look like this: Bananza > Mario vs DK > Odyssey.

That would mean that in Mario vs DK, DK falls in love with and kidnaps the woman he had befriended and saved in Bananza when she was a child...

And like I said, this series does not have a strict timeline it actually follows and stuff like age can be changed on a per game basis. The original arcade games happen before Bananza and in those games Pauline is a grown woman while DK's dad is a toddler.

To my knowledge the only Mario games we don't consider canon are some of the weirdo outliers like Hotel Mario + the Rabbids games since those are specifically a different timeline

Tbf, it seems that the Pauline of the arcade is different from the modern Pauline https://www.reddit.com/r/donkeykong/s/DSe9U1UjwD
The fossils aren't meant to be taken seriously, otherwise Cranky Kong would somehow be out and about while somehow also being a fossil buried near the centre of the planet. Plus even ignoring the arcade games, there's still Donkey Kong '94 where the same Pauline seen in games like Mario vs Donkey is there and a grown woman and this happens before Cranky Kong retired and the DKC series happens.

No matter how you slice it, Pauline is a grown woman in games that happen before Bananza, her being 13 is just the Mario series having whacky cartoon logic that changes the characters for what fits whichever games story and gameplay. It's why we can have one game where everyone except the main characters will run in terror at the mere sight of Bowser in one game and then the next they'll cheer him on during a tennis match like he was never evil in the first place.

Ultimately when it comes to Mario timeline stuff, don't think too hard about it. It exists in a general sense, like most Yoshi games happen before the rest of the series, each subseries games often happen in order of release, stuff like that, but for things like a characters age being different in one game (Bananza isn't the first and likely won't be the last time this happens) or where certain spin offs happen in relation to mainline games just don't think too much about it. Nintendo doesn't.

I'll admit, I DO find it to be a fun thought experiment sometimes, trying to figure out which pieces fit where, but... yeah. Unless Nintendo takes a note from Sega and forms a dedicated lore team, there's not much reason to take things too seriously.

They're not meant to be taken literally, of course, but they still provide some information about the lore. The 8-bit DK fossil (re)confirms that the arcade and 94 version was indeed Cranky Kong, and the 8-bit Lady's fossil confirms that the arcade and 94 version is different from the Bananza and Odyssey Pauline.

I know that Mario games are a bit like cartoons, but even cartoon logic isn't a good excuse to explain why Pauline in all the games is exactly the same, imo.

The timeline isn't Nintendo's priority at all, yes, but that doesn't mean there isn't one (kind of). Unlike a classic cartoon, the Mario/DK games reference other games multiple times.

Seems good, my only criticism is that there isn't really a point to indent the entire "Magic" tab under the Magic P&A, it looks visually awkward and it's already obvious that every ability in the tabber is magic-based. Also the item stuff would probably require some elaboration, and might be better not as a bullet point

Best as in?
Consistently around a higher level of power without any meaningful anti-feats including multiple tier 6 feats, high end mach, and ludicrous amounts of Class M to G and iirc even a T LS feat. Just a whole slew of feats that while it doesn't ultimately upgrade much, the core feat is like 6-B last I checked tho because KE go vroom (and that's accounting for the non-linear velocity and continuous growth too, obviously you can't treat it like just a long solid tube, it doesn't actually start like that, despite that it's still pretty damn high), except maybe LS, that might be upgrades outside of Koops.

Meanwhile Mario is usually like tier 9 to 8, with maybe one higher end feat per game to cap it off.

DK is simply a feat merchant, yeah sure technically speaking there's higher end stuff elsewhere, but a few stray higher feats, usually one per game, if even (some Mario games don't even have anything past 8-C, or even tier 9), sometimes actual multiple games apart, definitely isn't doing a good job conveying their level of power, while DK is like "oh ok he's ******* stupidly strong", just from a gameplay perspective, and in cutscene he's also strong, dude is just strong af.
and none of them rely on mental gymnastics, they're just "ME BIG STRONG MONKEY, ME PUNCH YOU DEAD" tier.

It seems many locations are all called "Dry Dry Desert", in the original Japanese, even if the localizations may differ about that.

Thoughts?
