Magic power in Trinia is overpowered asf

We've been focusing on Authorities a lot but after relooking at stuff, even normal magic power is pretty complex lmao so here we are with another hax scaling wank

Magic Power

Magic power is something everyone possesses, and is required to use magic.

There are originally two types of magic, transmutation and non transmutation magic, transmutation magic has 8 types of magic.

Magic power originates from the soul itself, as when multiple souls with negative magic powers merge, undead type demons are born. This also proves that emotions dwell within magic powers. Alteration of magic power can be used to create artificial souls, which as proved above, will have their own mind, emotions and magic power. Souls that do not take any physical form can exist purely as a cluster of magic power.

Conclusion

Magic power comes directly from the soul itself, altering it can create separate souls with their own mind and magic powers, spirits are basically souls existing purely as clusters of magic powers, magic power also contains emotions and those emotions can very well influence the soul itself.

So, from this we get, magic power = souls = mind = memories = emotions, this is supported by the fact that emotions directly influence both magic power and souls and mind is contained within the soul itself. This should result in using the magic power granting;

Soul manipulation, Mind manipulation, Memory manipulation, Non-physical interaction(souls, memories & mind) & possibly Empathetic manipulation (Magic power comes from the souls themselves. It can be used to create artificial souls, with minds of their own. Souls can exist solely as a cluster of magic power without physical forms. Souls and mind are the same.)The reasoning is that magic can affect souls, which in turn, affect mind, memories and emotions.

This should also grant them unconventional resistance to all this stuff as they can force nullify and resist magic.

This also kind of makes the magic have spiritual damage so that's kind of broken, considering this is the most basic power system in the verse.

Magic nullification isn't really a thing until high ranking demon level, and nullifying magic isn't the same as resisting it, that said I know what you are talking about, so bringing back what I posted from other threads here; "In this series, resistances to status effects is a matter of imbuing the magic power which is normally around you with resistances (Chapter 2295), and this is one of the first things taught in knight training, and a common skill, so this is something that is done below the level of peerage holders, and we have seen examples of beings like Zwei who initially couldn't resist Isis magic power, learning how to clad herself in magic power enough to resist Isis magic power of death (Chapter 1517). So in series the more powerful you are, the more resistant you are to status effects, Kaito who is weak, on the level of a slime, would suffer the greatest effects of the magic power of death, because he has no resistances, peerage holders can resist it, with the effects being lesser the higher up the peerage system you go, because they gain more powerful resistances, this is shown where Baron Ranks can be in the presence of Isis without running or fainting, but tremble, Count Ranks can somewhat endure with their face going pale, and Ozma who was Peak Count Rank at the time being able to endure it with no issues (Chapter 439)"

In short resistances in verse are just a matter of imbuing the magic power around you with resistances, more powerful you are, the more resistant to stuff you are, this is just using magic power to gain resistances though, and not resisting magic itself, though status effects are done in verse via magic since it's the power system so ehh, seems like semantics to argue that, and once you get to a peerage, you can resist the magic power of death, which is well magic power, but anyway think resistances to magic only come into play once you reach the level of a knight/high ranking demon.

Sidenote, thinking about it heart tools are weapons from one's heart itself, as such with explosive emotions, they respond, making their users stronger than before (Chapter 739), not to mention previous stuff about heart tools being weapons of the heart which carry the soul itself (Chapter 300), they should probably get empathetic manipulation too. Interesting how despite being powers from 2 different worlds, magic power and heart tools do the same thing.

Thinking about it, if high ranking demons, and knights have resistance to magic, Isis passive magic power of death which affects the mind, soul etc would have a layer of hax since it works on them and thus her serious magic power of death would be 2 layers, though you could argue knights/high ranking demons can't resist it due to its currently accepted conceptual nature, so that will have to wait until I remove that the passive magic power.

But yea, as a result bumps WC's back up to 3 layers of hax again. But got to do the Isis CRT first.

Empowerment seems to fit better, as the Heart Tool is a magic that manifests from the user's inner emotions, beliefs, and mental strength. The stronger the user's emotions, the stronger the Heart Tool becomes and the stronger they become as a result. So, it is not empathetic manipulation, since they are not manipulating emotions themselves but rather growing stronger through them.

Empowerment makes makes sense. Also 2 layers for isis would be high rank demon resistance < 1 layer for isis < baron resistance < serious isis 2 layers? This would be make non serious have a layer wouldn't it? Which is not considered functioning as an authority level (or was that not addressed yet?)

Anyway this thread makes sense to me along with what celestial said. Which means from what i gatheded, once u reach knight/high ranking demon is where these magic resistances come into play

Think we still have to discuss how to implement this.

I was thinking about it, and if magic has these effects ie mind, soul etc, tanking a magical attack, would mean tanking those effects, before I was thinking in terms of resistance being something which is specifically mentioned at the high ranking demon/knight level, but that isn't necessarily a contradiction.

Re-looking at this statement from peerage page, learning to protect yourself using the magic power around your body, is a basic thing when learning magic, which can be active all the time, so yea I think the cast resists generic magic because they passively have force fields around them made with magic power.

This in turn means, non attribute magic which puts pressure on the mind is enhanced mind, soul manipulation, since generic magic already does that, and once you get to high ranking demon level, the pressure of your magic power alone can intimidate others, and you have even greater resistance to status effects.

Every mage would have baseline resistance, non-attribute magic is also referred to mental interference magic (Chapter 470), the entire point of them is to attack people mentally, despite basic magic already doing that, this is also said about Kaito's sympathy magic (Chapter 158), that its amazing because it can attack people mentally, this is in a conversation with Kusunoki, who is already a mage, and has the baseline resistances, so think that's 1 layer.

High Ranking Demons can cast recognition inhibition magic (Chapter 30), which makes them be seen as ordinary people, so their stuff is layered cause for example it worked on Kaito, but doesn't mean it's more layered than non-attribute magic, if anything seems like a type of non-attribute magic.

For more layered resistance, I don't remember any feat of high ranking demons resisting mental stuff, next point in the scaling would be at the peerage level where they resist Isis magic power, but that we still need to make her passive non-conceptual, other wise it's not more layered atm.

Someone would have to resist the basic mind type spell, but be unable to resist recognition inhibition, to say the latter has 2 layers, it would just be 1 layer, but more powerful, since as far as I know such a feat doesn't exist.

Looking at things if magic affects the soul, mind etc, Peak Counts intangibility is gonna be buffed, because they bypass physical and magical attacks (Chapter 737).

Also just noticed Iris is missing NPI, she should have that since she was taught by Alice how interact with Peak Counts.
