That's just not how english works
The first scan is calling Shanks a skilled swordsman, which he is. That second scan is so obviously referring to Mihawk. Mihawk is the diligent Great Swordsman, checking in with Shanks about Luffy. There's nothing diligent about being hungover on an island after drinking all night. The second half of the sentence makes that abundantly clear.

But I don't need to post them, if it's about Shanks vs. Mihawk, you're usually lying in favor of Shanks. If the topic is about the Yonkos vs. the Admirals, you're usually lying in favor of the Yonkos. You're always lying about Roger being the strongest because he's the Pirate King.

The first scan is calling Shanks a master swordsman that could fight Mihawk equally. The second scan is literally titled "Chapter 7 Pirates Report: Shanks", it's a report on Shanks that's obviously referring to him as a surprisingly diligent Great Swordsman.

The whole passage makes it abundantly clear that Shanks is reacting to the diligent great swordsman from the prior sentence meaning he isn't the great swordsman. This is obvious however, for some reason whoever made the imgur folder literally translated 1/3rd of the passage which hides the context. Not a single time in any other media is Shanks ever called a daikengo, it would be so absurdly weird for it to be dropped once and never again despite the fact he's called a "great pirate" in every other sentence spoken about him.

btw if Mihawk was stronger than Shanks, in what way do Mihawk fans mostly believe that he's stronger in? Is it his "attack power" being stronger based on his strength, or is it his skills? Or maybe even Haki?

It says he's a "master with the sword". Is that not the same thing as calling him a master swordsman?
It would be even more absurdly weird if Shanks wasn't a master swordsman considering his swords skills have been the benchmark for master swordsman Mihawk's more than once (in Databook Red and in the manga Ch. 1058).

Not in the sense Shanks is a daikengo. being a "master of the sword" is a description of Shanks' sword skill, being a "Great Swordsman" is a title/rank. Just like how Shanks is a "Great Pirate", Doflamingo is great at pirating but he is not a "Great Pirate".
He's the benchmark because he's the most renowned by the Navy and general populous, not to mention DB Red is like 15 years older than Wano's preconception. Vista, Zoro and Wano Samurai are more skilled just way less powerful.

If I ever would've believed that Mihawk is stronger in attacking power, I would've believed in terms of skill based attacking power (since that's basically his whole thing, like utilizing his skills of soft and hard or more type swordsmanship/techniques)

In one piece AP, Skill, and Haki are all associated with swordsmanship. Mihawk is just superior to Shanks but people don't like that cause he's Statements Man

The statement about Marco being equal to the Admirals has been proven wrong repeatedly
None of those characters but Chinjao called Roger the strongest because he was PK and even then Chinjao had no idea of what Roger went through to achieve that.
And so what if a magazine said it? The manga- the main source- has repeatedly made it clear that he wasn't. It's not that I don't like the idea of Roger being the strongest, it's just that nothing in the story actually confirms that he was.

Or...he's the benchmark because his skills rivals Mihawk's like it's implied. And I don't care how old DB Red is, databook statements don't become invalidated just because of how long they've been out. Plus, it's backed up by Ch. 1058 saying something similar:
DB Red: Shanks' swordsmanship is at top level, Mihawk is the No.1 swordsman.

Greenbull wasn't the only one who stayed away from Wano because of Kaido. Whitebeard and Gaban also stayed away because of him for one reason or another. I guess they aren't Yonko Level either?
Kizaru fought Gear 5 evenly, damaged him, and wasn't even that effected by his White Star Gun as he quickly recovered, perception blitzed everyone and got food for Luffy to recover.
Aokiji, also mentally nerfed, matched Old Garp physically and defeated him in far less attacks + help from a stab by Shiryu
Akainu and Whitebeard clashed evenly multiple times. Whitebeard only beat Akainu when he was extremely pissed and caught Akainu off-guard, and it's the only part that people remember. But even then Akainu quickly recovered and kept fighting without any issues.

1. Once again, Chinjao had no idea what Roger went through to become the Pirate King, he's just assuming Roger beat everybody in his way to accomplish it.
2. I can't find the part where Luffy says he needs to be single strongest person to become the Pirate King
3. Big Mom is saying if Lola married Loki she would've had the power to become PK because she'd have the Elbaph Giants on her side, not that she'd become the strongest being in the world.
4. Kaido is just like Chinjao, he doesn't know what Roger went through to become PK, all he knew was Roger's strength

Yeah, I think that in terms of Raw AP, Primebeard > Roger due to the Gura, with Roger being overall more capable and capable of using "critical mass", but it's really his crew that sets the King apart. Primebeard's crew with Oden was only even with Roger's Oden-less crew.
