DCU General Discussion Thread

I wonder who will play nightwing. The actor will literally have to mog the entire DCU cast to be comic accurate
Assuming Nightwing will appear. Would be cool since it would help to establish Batman's been at this game for quite the time.

It’s basically guaranteed that he will. If Bruce is already up to Damian as Robin, there’s no way Nightwing isn’t around already.
They could just say Damian is the first Robin. It's an alternate version after all. The Batman (2004) had Batgirl being the first of Batman's sidekicks and Robin followed and Jason doesn't exist in the DCAMU. So they could decide to say Damian is the first Robin

Why in God’s name would they do something like that-

Considering that Gunn has said he wants Dynamic Duo to be DCU canon, and that’s going to be about Dick and Jason as Robins, I think it’s fairly safe to say that they’re not gonna make Damian the first Robin for no reason.

Probably. I'd personally prefer it if they establish Dick and Jason have already been around but Dynamic Duo simply means Batman and Robin. And while Batman necessarily means Bruce Wayne since, even with all the times someone tried to take up the mantle and counting Terry in Beyond, there's only ONE Batman, there have been multiple Robins. Then again, like I said I hope they will say Damian isn't the first Robin

Can Peacemaker be argued to scale, or at least downscale, from White Dragon's energy blasts? White Dragon could channel the same energy through his gauntlets to enhance his physical strikes, which Peacemaker did withstand a hit from. If my White Dragon recalc gets accepted, it could get 9-B+ to 9-A results depending on the end used, but I'm not entirely sure if that would impact much beyond the ratings for the blasts themselves.
You should definitely make a CRT for this after the current one is done.

For DCEU specific characters, we already consider Killer Croc to be above Rick Flag, and Batman was established to have defeated Killer Croc in the Secret Files of the Suicide Squad prequel comic:

In addition, the Eyes of the Adversary can probably downscale from Flag, considering that while he could fight them off individually, he was pretty quickly overpowered and almost killed by a small group, with pretty much the same scenario occurring again later. This should bump up pretty much the entire 2016 Task Force X lineup.

I'd also argue that Rick Jr. should scale more closely to Peacemaker than his profile suggests, considering he was pretty badly wounded by debris right before the fight started, and he still managed to gain a clear upper hand towards the end of the fight, only losing because Peacemaker managed to grab the broken tile at the last moment.

The Peacemaker S2 CRT just concluded, so feel free to make yours whenever you’re ready.

why did literally every character that was shown in peacemaker s2 get a page except for the main antag of that season and who also appeared in 2 other dcu properties
😭

Because Flag, Sr. sucks and doesn’t deserve a page

Gunn is right, Darkseid's been used many times in recent years as the big villain of a verse so maybe not using him this time could be good. Heck, why not have no great big bad, just a collection of "arc villains".

On the other hand, Darkseid is the perfect material for a great saga villain and it'd be hard to replace him if the DCU decides to have one. Brainiac would have been a very fitting candidate but he's very likely if not outright confirmed to be the villain for Man of Tomorrow. In all honesty, I would see it as a bummer cause it would be cool to see another version of Darkseid (especially with writers remembering there's more to Darkseid than Omega Beams. Seriously can adaptations remember he can do much more?). The Anti-Monitor is also a good candidate but it would be a very ambitious flick.

Maybe they could use Mongul, Despero or Neron. Trigon is also an option if they choose to use the Teen Titans (though he's been used several times in a row in recent years to). Of introduce villains over time and prepare the ground for villainous teams like the Injustice League. It could also be a threat from an alternate universe like the Crime Syndicate (with Owlman).
Or they could go for the Young Justice road and choose Vandal Savage. Would be nice to see that and make for a good change, instead of a superpowerful alien or unnatural entity it would be this immortal caveman who's existed through history and relies on planning more than brutal strength. After all, Justice League has proven Savage has great potential for a great villain role.
My personal wet dream though would be more focus on mythology with the gods taking the center of the stage, hell imagine Ares as the ultimate big bad. Probably won't happen but still).

If they weren’t going with an older Hal Jordan, I would’ve loved to see Nekron as the big bad.

Nekron might be a bit too big for a first try I think. He could very well work for a crossover. If we put aside Sinestro, we could still get Atrocitus and the Red Lanterns as the main villains for the season

I don’t mean for Lanterns or for Chapter One as a whole, I mean for an “Endgame-like” final villain. The War of Light needs to happen before Nekron and the Black Lanterns can be used.

I both understand and not like the decision of avoiding Darkseid. Because he is the Thanos of DC, he does have weight and is well known by general audience.

The only other big bads literally cause universe resets like Anti Monitor.

So we can go for Crime Syndicate or Legion of Doom for the first JL but honestly it should be Darkseid.

If anything it makes more sense. General public saw Darkseid in Snyder movies but never on the front and center, just building hype for him.

Wouldn't it be better to captialise on the hype. If anything a "Villain as big bad as Thanos" is a massive selling point for the average movie goer.

Because Flag, Sr. sucks and doesn’t deserve a page
i mean yea i agree but he still deserves a page way more than the characters who matter little in scaling that were just made, like scaling wise what does fleury contribute too? chris' current 9-b scaling comes from tanking a beating from him

Soooo it seems that Ultraman actually survived the black hole of the film...

I was joking, obviously Flag needs a page-

Welp wiki doesn't give durability for surviving being inside a black hole so the most he could get is hax resistances

Didn't the Godzilla sub wank him to solar system for going through Blackhole like vortexes. And that's far worse given that these aren't even real black holes.

Not saying we should be doing the same but I see a lot of subs that have some insane bullshit. Like Solar System level Base Ben Tennyson.

But we can't get Superman to country level here.

Bro primary goal is accurately indexing not wank, just because other verses wank doesn't mean we should use bs agendas or work arounds for high numbers too. Like I don't agree with 4-B base ben 10 either and i know plenty of others who do not as well and if Godzilla got 4-B via survivng being inside a black hole then that would need to be removed too not that Superman needs to also not follow standards.

This isn't a competition either so other verses shouldn't matter but like yeah if they're doing shit bad then work to address it if you're knowledgeable on those verses and see to it that they are met with the same standards
