幻想郷には、現実にはあり得ない物が流れ着くことがある。特に、外の世界では非常識の物、非常識となった物、存在しえない物などが流れ着きやすい。幻想郷とは現実の世界と常識の壁を持って分けられた場所だからである。

その物の中でも、宙(そら)から落ちてくる物は特別な意味を持つ。なぜなら宙は太古と現在を繋ぐ重要な所だからだ。古い物や新しい物、時には未来の物が落ちてくることもあるので、珍しい品を喜ぶ幻想郷の者は好んでそれを探す。

悪戯好きの三妖精もその内の三人である。ただ、住んでいる家が余り広くないので大きな物は避け、さらにどちらかというと気まぐれな性格の為、次から次へと捨ててしまう事が多い。

また、宙から落ちてくる物は時間を超えるだけでなく、外の世界の品とも限らないという特徴がある。幻想郷にとって宇宙は、まさに神秘の宝庫なのだ。

宙から落ちてきた石ともなれば、その神秘さは群を抜いて高い。そこに刻まれたメッセージは、決して解くことの出来ない謎や、全く新しい知識を幻想の人に与えてくれる。

明らかに人工と思われる印や物が何故宇宙から落ちてくるのかと言うとその間の答えは出ない。そこに大きな思い違いがあるからである。

まず「何故、降ってきたそれを人工だと思うのか」から考え直さないといけないのだ。

人工物を宙に持って行くことは不可能な為、石に文字が刻まれていれば、その文字は元々宙から来た物であると考えない方がおかしい。即ち、宙から来た物を真似て現在の文字がある、とそう考えるのが自然である。

鳥居も謎の多い物の一つであり、あお誰もが知っている日本的な形は、何故か由来は知られていない。そういった物や形の多くは、元々自然に存在していた物である事が多い。

スターは石を見ただけで瞬時にそれを理解し、鳥居の起源を宇宙に求めた。

鳥居の形が降ってくる場所に目印として実物の鳥居を立て、そしてその場所に、神社が出来たと考えた。

それは自然に生きる妖精、しかも星の光の妖精だからこそ出来る発想である。

どうも、お久しぶりです。ＺＵＮです。

突然、唐突な内容の上海アリス通信ですが、前回で三妖精全員の紹介が終わったので、これからは幻想郷の紹介でも書いていこうかと思って書きました。なんて言ったって、この雑誌では一度も説明してないですしね（笑）。そこでおさらいです。

まず幻想郷とは、現実世界では既に忘れ去られたもの、もしくはまだ認められていないものが多く流れ着く場所です。その場所は現実の世界と陸続きの日本の山奥に存在し、その間の往来もさほど難しいものではありませんが、博麗大結界という常識の壁が存在するので、存在を認知できる人間は殆どいません。

幻想郷で最も強くて数が多い種族は妖怪です。その妖怪達は外の世界に喧嘩を売るほど馬鹿では無いので、これ以上幻想郷を大きくしようとも考えず今のままで平和に暮らしています。妖精はその妖怪とは比べものにならないほど小さな存在ですが、自然そのものなのでどこにでも存在します。

平和って言っても、妖怪の食料は人間ですけどね。

Note: Quite a few things here... 森羅万象 would work as "all creation" here? Or would just "universe" be better? 元素 means, literally, "chemical element" as in the stuff in the periodic table, but how does it work in this context? Is there more to it? Is the last part of the first sentence well translated? They weren't sure about the sense in that one regarding how order, chaos, light and dark were referring each other.

It should be talking about a character named Caim getting sucked into a black hole from what I've got so far.

These translations were done by a popular fan website (that got taken down) called Accord's Library. It got translated and proofread by a team of people, but I want the translations checked or fixed if need be so I can use them. Not everything on these pages I need just what's mentioned in the translation below.

Translation:

In Verdelet's eyes, it was as if the space itself had some kind of hole in it. It was darker than normal black — A damp, cold black that looked as if it had been varnished.

With a loud roar, the black hole was sucking in the clouds that seemed as if they had blanketed over the whole world. The hole grew larger - Soon it would envelop the entire sky, it seemed.

Verdelet shuddered as he felt the stagnant temperatures around him suddenly disappear. It truly didn't matter what happened now. Even when the Empire had emerged and humankind was thrown into those days of fierce battle, they still lived what seemed their ordinary life with their feet on the ground.

A strange stench began to waft in with the air that cooled as the black hole grew and expanded even further. It was a smell like rotting flesh, and even more horrifying, as impossible as it may have been, like flesh that had decayed twice over. Tears entered into Verdelet's eyes, paired alongside a sweltering headache.

...Gods. Dragons. What manner of hell are we, the children of man, to witness?

Verdelet continued to stare up at the empty void that floated in the air. No matter what happens, they would see it through to the end - Such a resolve gradually weakened, and the Hierarch found himself trembling with no end in sight.

Humans shouldn't have come here.

But who could say that such an event was solely unique to their kind alone?

"What the hell is that thing...!?" Muttered one of the soldiers. Something grey protruded out from the centre of the black hole. Verdelet squinted his eyes at the sight of the object floating in the sky-
