@Dalesean027 I'm hoping that you can give us your vote on this topic within the next day or so, when you're ready. There's been some more responses but no major counter-arguments to the majority of my post.

Yeah. I get that.DC ≠ size, and Yamato notes he'd punch a hole in it, AKA the fist is smaller than the island. Chances are Luffy probably just worried about hurting his friends that were inside it.
If we pick up all the panels of Dragon Kaido next to the Flame Cloak, they all give us the same result, which is that the difference isn't as large as you say. The narrative tells us the fist is smaller than the island, so the claim the fist is drawn to scale with Onigashima falls apart. Why not compare the Bajrang Gun to Kaido, the person that directly engaged with the attack, instead?Like, dragon Kaido can't be scaled to its fire form as it does not only goes against the 50km size, but would also go against any size higher than a few hundred meters for the island.
The current calc actually does. Besides it's shown comparable to Kaido and his Flame Cloak in every panel. If there is no perfect size for it then that just puts the current calculation for the Bajrang Gun to doubt.Nobody is saying that the fist is = to the island, at least, I'm not doing that and I'm pretty sure the current calc is not the size or bigger than the island so that is a weird thing to say because even if smaller, its aways shown in a significant size compared to it.
The thread is about more than just Onigashima, and the specific point you responded to was about the Bajrang Gun. If you're looking for arguments about Onigashima's size, reffer to the other points. But even so, if bajrang is not to scale with the island and kaido is not to scale with the island, how does this conversation say anything about the size of onigashima? I confess that I'm getting a bit lost here.
I grant that there are some panels where the Bajrang Gun appears in a relative size to Onigashima - but there also multiple panels where the Bajrang Gun can be seen in the same frame as Kaido and his Flame Dragon Torch. If neither option can be objectively relied upon due to cancelling each other out then what is the best solution? Completely ignore one form of scaling in favor of the other? Because Oda didn't draw Kaido being comparable to his Flame Dragon Torch just once, but twice in the manga. The anime also shows the moment the Flame Dragon Torch gets dispelled and shows Kaido relative to it.Nobody is saying that the fist is = to the island, at least, I'm not doing that and I'm pretty sure the current calc is not the size or bigger than the island so that is a weird thing to say because even if smaller, its aways shown in a significant size compared to it.
But even so, if bajrang is not to scale with the island and kaido is not to scale with the island, how does this conversation say anything about the size of onigashima? I confess that I'm getting a bit lost here.
Very well, I have retracted that point from my original post. It wasn't a very important argument for it, just a supporting one. We can move on from that now and hopefully let this thread reach a conclusion. The entire point of the Bajrang Gun is to be so ginormous that it's comparable to Onigashima, whether larger or smaller, but comparable.
Please don't try to say "it's not as big as Onigashima it's actually barely bigger than Kaidou"
The link doesn't work for me but I checked it, my bad thought i've seen one calc that it was around 30km and that the island was 58km.The current calc actually does. Besides it's shown comparable to Kaido and his Flame Cloak in every panel. If there is no perfect size for it then that just puts the current calculation for the Bajrang Gun to doubt.
That point has already been retracted by me. Do you agree with the rest of the thread?I do agree with KT and Bananossauro regarding Bajrang Gun and its size relativity to Onigashima in size and by extension Kaido as well, I think its entirely foolish to say they aren't relative in size if that's what you're waiting on me for? kinda loosing the plot if ya argue otherwise
Hi, just bumping this so that it doesn't get forgotten about.I'll wait for counter arguments but this does seem pretty convincing and much more concrete than the previous argument
Were there any other new arguements or proposal made other than the Bajrang Gun stuff? If not then my previous vote should still be fine for lack of better options since no other recalcs or middle grounds have been made to bridge thingsHi, just bumping this so that it doesn't get forgotten about.
Okay then, so until a re-calc is made than you're not in favor of removing the current calc despite the arguments against it?Were there any other new arguements or proposal made other than the Bajrang Gun stuff? If not then my previous vote should still be fine for lack of better options since no other recalcs or middle grounds have been made to bridge things
No worries about that; it's just been quiet for a few days with nobody indicating there'd be more arguments.Relax arguments will be on the way people are just busy
Not a calc group member@KingTempest also disagrees
Just curious, why is Dale in "disagrement" section instead of neutral?I just counted evaluating staff votes:
Agree: 3 (Damage3245, Therefir, TheRustyOne)
Disagrees with arguments made, but some recalcs may be fine: 1 (Dalesean027 [One, Two, Three])
Disagree: 1 (CloverDragon03)
I don't think three agrees and two disagrees is sufficient support to conclude. Reopening this.
A neutral vote is not a disagree vote, so that's three agrees to 1 disagree. And that one disagreeing staff member has not came back to the thread for some time too.I don't think three agrees and two disagrees is sufficient support to conclude. Reopening this.

Why would he be in neutral? He explicitly disagreed with the reasons provided for downgrading.A neutral vote is not a disagree vote, so that's three agrees to 1 disagree. And that one disagreeing staff member has not came back to the thread for some time too.
I believe a 3 to 1 majority after roughly 2 weeks of no further discussion or counter-arguments is enough to conclude this.
He disagreed with some arguments. That doesn't mean disagreeing with the entire proposal. He also said here that the arguments were pretty convincing. Why would he be in neutral? He explicitly disagreed with the reasons provided for downgrading.
The closest I could find to that was in post 101 where he said:He disagreed with some arguments.
So. Not all of the arguments for downgrading were sound. Some recalcs (which you haven't yet proposed, afaik) could be promising, but he can't definitively say.The current stuff could potentially be lower but at the same time not all the arguments against it have been entirely sound imo, some recalcs could be promising but I can't definitively say nor do I want to be the sole deciding factor especially when I'm not more knowledgeable than the people here on OP
He disagrees with the arguments presented to downgrade, but is not opposed to recalcs.Other than that all I can say is that with the little time I have is that I did express disagreements with the arguments presented to downgrade right now but am not opposed to recalcs if they seem more sensible
He agrees with KT, in disagreeing with you over the Bajrang Gun.I do agree with KT and Bananossauro regarding Bajrang Gun and its size relativity to Onigashima in size and by extension Kaido as well, I think its entirely foolish to say they aren't relative in size if that's what you're waiting on me for? kinda loosing the plot if ya argue otherwise
If there were no other arguments, stick with his previous view, since no recalcs have been presented. You initially interpreted this as him disagreeing with the current calc being removed. Were there any other new arguements or proposal made other than the Bajrang Gun stuff? If not then my previous vote should still be fine for lack of better options since no other recalcs or middle grounds have been made to bridge things
He also said there that he would wait on counterarguments. When those came around, he like'd them, and later explicitly said that he agreed with them. That doesn't mean disagreeing with the entire proposal. He also said here that the arguments were pretty convincing.
Not everyone pays attention to that sort of thing. I put his words over him not acknowledging an edited OP.He was put in the neutral section in the OP, and he didn't contest that.
Yeah that works. If it is going to be an issue, then we can simply get clarification from the CGM himself. @Dalesean027 Are you neutral on the thread? Or do you disagree with it? Or do you agree with the proposal?
I didn't interpret that as him disagreeing with it. Not being in favor of something isn't the same as being opposed to it.You interpreted this as him disagreeing.
We know that the height of the waterfall is inconsistent with the actual size of Wano. Again. I don't know how much I need to drill this. This is the current list of arguments against the currently used size calcs.
Issue 1 - The sea of Wano
None of these arguments or pieces of evidence involve the use of "scaling small characters to big objects".
- Onigashima is submerged in the inner sea of Wano. This accepted calculation puts the height of Wano's waterfalls at around 4.8 kilometers. As we can tell from this layout of Wano Country, the depth of Wano's inner sea is comparable to the height of Wano's waterfalls.
- We have multiple supporting visuals of Wano's waterfalls that indicate a height far less than dozens of kilometers.
- Both the Thousand Sunny and the Queen Mama Chanter make it up the waterfalls quickly thanks to the Koi fish; a few panels for the Sunny and in the Queen Mama Chanter's case we can see the scene of Kaido panicking as Big Mom's ship climbs the waterfalls. It's clearly events that are happening over the course of mere minutes, if not seconds. This makes sense for the travel distance up the length of a waterfall a few kilometers high and not dozens or hundreds of kilometers.
- Thanks to the layout image above, we know that the depth of Wano's inner sea is comparable to the distance between the present-day Wano and the Old Wano at the bottom of the inner sea. Sukiyaki, Robin and Law descend from Sukiyaki's room in the Flower Capital down the stairs to the cavern at the level where Old Wano lies. They travelled all that way down the stairs all in the same night that the celebrations and festivities are going on, when Aramaki is on his way to attack the Flower Capital. Much of their travel time is cut out but we can infer that it took them a while. If the depth of Wano was a few kilometers then this kind of journey time, while lengthy, still fits within the same night as it would take no more than a few hours to get down there.
- When Sukiyaki, Robin and Law near the sea floor layer of Wano, they comment that there is a dim light coming from the sea which allows them to get a good look at Old Wano. As we know from what has been established in Fish-Man Island arc, One Piece acknowledges the existence of photic and aphotic zones where light penetration through water is acknowledged to cause underwater areas to become dim. At 6 kilometers of depth the surroundings become extremely dark. Fish-Man Island, at around 9 kilometers below sea level, is acknowledged to be unique in all the world due to the presence of Sunlight Tree Eve which carries down light from the surface. Therefore it is extremely likely that the depth of Wano's inner is less than 6 kilometers which is consistent with the calc mentioned above.
Many in fact.Issue 2 - The Skull Dome's Layout
Some of the issues regarding the Skull Dome have been glossed over to an extent so I want to illustrate exactly why it is an issue and how the current calculation runs counter to the vast majority of information have concerning the Skull Dome.
This is a piece of pixelscaling from the current Onigashima calc: Skull Teeth to Peak: 88 px = 12951.228276878 m
Essentially 13 kilometers for that measurement of the exterior of the castle between those two points. Why is this important?
- As we can tell from this map, that measurement of the teeth to the peak of the Skull Dome is the exact equivalent of the seven floors of the castle area. More precisely, the five main floors with the two basement floors beneath them hence why the upper ones are labelled 1 through 5 as additional shots here and here depict. The multiple internal shots of the Skull Dome line up extremely closely with this map, so there is no need to depend on the scale of the map alone.
- At 12951.228276878 divided by seven floors, we'd end up with 1850 meters per floor (not accounting for the narrow attics between each floor).
- Fuga is a Number (artificial Ancient Giant) that we have a canon height for, being listed as 37.15 meters tall, yet he is tall enough to scrape the ceiling of the basement floor with his horns. Even if we doubled the height of each floor to account for an additional level, that still falls drastically short of nearly 2 kilometers.
- A cross-section of the floors is visible when Jinbe redirects a huge quantity of water to flood through the castle. The floors are easily tens of meters tall... but not kilometers.
- For the interior castle, or in other words the height from the Performance Floor up to the ceiling where the Skull Dome's top is, to be around 13 kilometers tall, we would have to disregard virtually every shot of the Skull Dome's ceiling from the interior such as the eight clear depictions of the Skull Dome's interior here. How many visuals are required to suggest that 13 kilometers is an outlier exactly?
This is your best point and I don't like it.Issue 3 - The Flower Capital's Size
- The current calc for the Flower Capital puts it at 404 kilometers wide. This is based upon this panel which is a flawed method as Onigashima appears to be in the background of the panel instead of being in-line with the Flower Capital itself. This has the effect of inflating the size of the capital by comparison.
- A size value of this magnitude is contradicted by every single visual we have of the Flower Capital. It's certainly a big city, the largest settlement in Wano Country... but it is by now means hundreds of kilometers across. Orochi's castle is an extremely prominent landmark in it, viewed each time we see the city from a distance and yet we can tell by simple comparison to the buildings around it that it is not tens of kilometers tall.
- If the Flower Capital is vastly smaller than what has been calced, then Onigashima will also be made smaller too. Onigashima is also small enough to comfortably fit within the Flower Capital and does not dwarf it when it lands next to the capital.
With all these points I'm honestly surprised you didn't make a recalc since you clearly have shown a bunch of ways to get a new size. But I digress.@Dalesean027 From my understanding of your evaluation above, the arguments in the OP that you took most issue with were;
1) Comparing small characters to large structures.
2) The issue with the floors of the Skull Dome not being a good argument due to them consisting of multiple levels / appearing roughly a hundred-ish meters tall.
I hope my post here illustrates that there is so much more contradicting the current calcs than just those two arguments; we don't need to compare any individual character to Onigashima here to see the narrative, logical and visual issues present throughout. If there is anything about the internal layout of Onigashima's Skull Dome that is unclear in the scans, or a part of these arguments that is not convincing to you then I would love to discuss it. You said that you're not opposed to a sensible re-calc, but I'd like to see if anything about this post is enough to make you agree that the current calc creates contradictions.
