Jujutsu Kaisen Discussion Page #1

Y'know.. I used to think that reading manga was just about picking your favorite OP character and riding that hype 'til the end.
So when Gojo got sliced in half, I was furious. It felt wrong. Like the story betrayed him... no like, it betrayed me.
But then I realized something. Even if your fave gets folded like a beach chair, their legacy doesn't vanish.
It lives on.. in memes, in crack fanfics, in deranged power-scaling threads at 2AM.
That's what gives a character meaning. So how someone gets solo'd? That's not the point.
That's why I can't forgive people who act like Sukuna's W isn't valid.
That's why... I pity you.
You treat fictional characters like trophies for your ego.
Good takes, bad takes...I don't even know what's real anymore.
Maybe I'm the clown for arguing with you at 3 in the morning.
But before I log off, I just wanted to say: You are allowed to let go.
You are allowed to accept that the "Strongest" got packed up.
I only wanted to show you the value... of accepting canon.

what is bro even talking about ngl.

tell gege to not use plot induced stupidity and plot armor for Sukuna to win and we can talk about real W gang 💯

"Plot Induced stupidity" aka Gojo doing something totally in character for him.

Let's be honest Gojo does have the tendency to drop his guards in the worst possible moments, especially when he thinks he is in the advantage, and he never bothered to change that.

And you can easily argue that Gojo also had plot armor during his fight against Sukuna, so this is kinda of redundant to discuss.

Quick question, does anyone know where the thread is for upgrading Toji/Maki from Subsonic+ to Supersonic+?

The page edits don’t list the thread link as is procedure.

Found this nutty feat from the anime; definitely adds support to Mountain Level JJK if it’s accurate and if we can get anime exclusive stuff to be counted as canon (shouldn’t be too hard with how much Gege glazes it).

Whole comment section is them arguing about other verses scaling lmao. For the cloud split, cirrus clouds are much higher, 4km to 20km and thinner so those are wrong clouds to use, I'd say stratus or stratocumulus fit better. There's also the fact the scenes prior, it's a decently clear night sky with the moon shining.

The fuga calc also is assuming it split clouds but the explosion is barely above the skyscrapers and we don't see clouds over Shibuya that low. He also assumed the same mass was for the cloud split calc with dismantle, which doesn't make sense. He'd be saying the clouds somehow came back in minutes after being split 6km apart lol, clouds move very slow so yeah no this calc is wrong.

I don't understand why Uraume is so popular in the fandom. Like I get some powerscalers glaze her to upscale the rest of the bum trifecta but as a character she is so boring even by JJKs relatively low standards.

Her only personality trait is glazing Sukuna, she genuinely has nothing else going on with her character. She always talks mad shit only to get immediately humbled. She has one (count it 1) actual fight that isn't her sneaking people or freezing weakened fodder and 95% of it was off screen. Her CT (or at least the way she uses it) is also pretty boring compared to the other elemental techniques.

The one redeeming quality she has is that her interactions with Sukuna are pretty cute but that's mainly because of the dichotomy they present for Sukuna's character. She is also cute ig but if that's all your GOAT has going for them you might as well glaze Momo.

When the entire cast is mid, every member has to be hyped to make it feel like its cooler. I do not know what Gege's mission was with her but I hoped he had more with her.

But like even by JJK standards she is such a nothing burger. All of the major culling games players have more going on personality, motivation and theme wise than her and so do the Disaster Curses. She is by far the worse main antagonist in the story imo.

Tbh the disaster curses> Sukuna, Kenjaku and Uraume in being actual antagonist
Especially Mahito, would never forgive Gege for not allowing to grow

In my opinion the ranking for the antagonists would be
  1. Mahito
  2. Higuruma (if you count him as one)
  3. Geto
  4. Sukuna
  5. Toji
  6. Kenjaku
  7. Jogo
  8. Ryu
  9. Kashimo
  10. Uro (could have been higher had Greg expanded on her backstory)
  11. Reggie
  12. Hanami
  13. Naoya
  14. Dagon
  15. Yorozu
  16. Uraume

I have trust that Gege next work would be actually good
Just needs to work on his art and Writing and we're good
It might be even connected to the Jujustu kaisen universe

Ntm on Kenjaku. He had something special for a while. Came back in Gojo's bestfriend's body (idk WHY this went nowhere), the mother of Yuji, a well established Jujutsu terrorist, big goal, an insane degree of Jujutsu understanding. He had everything a good antag/villain needs to be memorable. Gege is a fumbler plain and simple.

Yeah this is how my list would look like if I ever make a antagonist tier list
Mahito should always be top 1

On my knees praying he doesn't

On a serious note jjk was very successful despite it's short run, WSJ would probably not let him leave like that
Honestly I hope he does do it. Both because I want more Gege stuff and the concept sounds fire but mainly cause JJK had a lot of restrictions for the story by the editorial and I think he deserves to do his own thing

Kenjaku was imo fascinating until the exact moment it turned out his entire motivation was "trolling everyone cause I'm bored". Imagine if all the implications that there was some twisted endgoal he's been working towards across a thousand years of history went anywhere. Instead the "endgoal" in question is just "eh, I thought it would be funny".

That's actually one of my favourite aspects of his character. He is one of the oldest people in the verse, a scientist with infinite curiosity that across his multi-millenia long life has done and seen everything you could imagine. The Merger being the most absolute form humanity could take would provide the pinnacle of Kenny's scientific achievements, something that could truly surpass everything he has seen before and create chaos that even he wouldn't be able to contain. It's a very simple motiv that works well with what we know about him.

My main problem with Kenny's character is how unceremoniously he died. Like sure the Takaba fight was great but it was primeraly a Takaba fight not a Kenjaku fight so it makes him getting sneaked and immediately dealt with very underwhelming

I mean I did come up with a theory or more that Kenjaku already reached his goal in a way.

Those weeks when the last few chapters were releasing and everyone was having these crazy theories about the ending only for it to end up being the most standard thing ever are honestly really funny in retrospect
When I saw Uraume die, I knew Gege could never be my special.

I will say, I do think John Werry is actually a pretty solid translator. He just didn't have much interest in JJK since he got brought onto that series as a replacement midway through it due to the problems with the last translator
