As far as I have understood, Pope Francis dedicated his life in service to the faith in God, and to try to help the poorest and most vulnerable on this planet, and to reform Christianity to turn kinder and much more tolerant.

Let us hope that he Rests In Peace, and that the next Pope is as great a humanitarian as he was, and does not attempt to push Christianity in general towards far right conservatism and bigotry. 🙏❤️🕊

Rest in Peace

He was indeed a legend, and his influence extended outside of the religion or church. Even those who leaned toward Protestant looked up to him in great regard. Or even various Non-Christian looked up to him in high regard. He condemned all forms of discrimination and bigotry, with an especially highlighted example being his criticisms towards his predecessors regarding LGBTQ+ rights. And he often baptized those who were openly transgender without hesitation or fear and with nothing but love, peace, and kindness.

It is a heavy loss without him. And I believe other Fandom platforms are announcing the news given his positive influence. So I think this one is good to keep. I do home the next ruler of Vatican will continue what he started for sure.

As much as I despise the Vatican as an organization, Francis was a real one. His passing is a great loss to an institution that desperately needs even more reform.

I disagreed with him on many things, but he was a good man who was a breath of fresh air in the Vatican.

I will forever appreciate Francis for daring to criticize the neoliberal order, working with the left, standing up for the poor and queer youth, and daring to criticize a certain state that is currently carrying out unspeakable atrocities.

Thank you for showing the world kindness, humility, and love. Your life was a light of hope, and your example will always be remembered with deep respect.

As a believer, dying a day after easter is kinda iconic

As a non-denominational Christian, I didn't exactly agree with everything Francis did. But one thing I can't question was his character. He stood for what he believed in and would not falter at the face of adversity. Even in his final days, he was on the clock.

Rest in Power Francis. We may not have the same interpretation of God, but I like to believe the one I favored wouldn't have a problem with you being in the kingdom of Heaven.

Regardless of ones political or religious affiliations or alignments, I think practically everyone can agree that Pope Francis was one of the best, most positive influences on the world. While I personally may not agree with all of his decisions and statements, he was undeniably a good man of the Lord who I think did his best to embody what it means to be a Christian the way Christ taught: spreading the word of God lovingly, without discrimination or hatred. In a long line of Popes, he is certainly one of the best.

His loss is an incredible blow to the entire world, and he will be missed. May he rest in peace with God above.

"He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
- Revelations 21:4

I may not be Christian, but I still hold a lot of respect for Francis and the good he has done to bring reform to a system that was very flawed and increasingly straying away from what I believe to be the main point of the faith: loving and respecting those around you no matter their differences. It’s things like death that you know is inevitable and natural, but still is shocking nonetheless.

Fly high Frank, you were a real one.

I am a Catholic although I tend to like making my views on my faith, I liked Pope Francis. It is not a true loss since he would reunite with God in eternal peace for his act of service and fortitude. After all, I've learned from my faith that death isn't the end.

Regardless of our views, it is good to acknowledge and come together to honor the Pope.

As an Orthodox Christian, I do not know much about him. From the clips I've might've seen I don't think I agree with him on everything

but I hope that as a person, he tried to deny himself and followed Jesus at all times... so that he may experience eternal Peace, Joy and Love beyond any imagination through Jesus in heaven. 🙏
Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. Matthew 16:24-26
I am giving you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, so you too are to love one another. By this everyone will know that you are My disciples, if you have love and unselfish concern for one another. John 13:34-35, 1 John 4:7-21
And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. Colossians 3
Jesus answered them, “I told you, and you do not believe. The works that I do in My Father’s name, they bear witness of Me. But you do not believe, because you are not of My sheep, as I said to you. My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand. I and My Father are one. John 10:1-30
Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life. John 5:13-30

Unsure if this is appropriate here but given that we're already here-

You don't need to be Catholic to recognize the loss of a good person. Insofar as I can tell, Francis was a very good person indeed. I do not need to believe in a god to see that. Morality is not steeped in spirituality. I mourn the loss of a significant figure of good in the world. I remember when he was elevated to the position of pope, and all of the good things he said and strived for. Some people seemed kinder for a time. We will see if the world can uphold his legacy now that we are deprived of his presence.

Again, just to clarify, just because I didn’t agree with him on everything doesn’t mean it isn’t sad to see him go.

I came back here in this thread once again to speak of this very important message here as a fellow Catholic for you all of you who are still struck down by the death of this fellow Human being who once lived among us in full kinship with God:

Sometimes the world is filled with very deep darkness that can scare anyone and everyone. Why does Lord who is all-good and all-just makes us go through this? Is it because he hates us selectively? No, it's because he loves us and he does it purposely so we can reach out to him more and talk to him more in order to help us grow and mature as peoplehood in Christ.🤲

Dear my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ, do not be afraid to talk to your Father in heaven. He created you with full purpose in life that neither of us can fully understand or fully comprehend as mortal Human beings living on this planet called Earth. Death is not the end of the world, if you truly believe that you can be saved by the Lord of all creation after death because you don't fear death, type down Amen as it will open up your unboundful gifts that your Father in heaven has for you. Amen.😇
