Regulus' attacks are FTL so by the time she "gets hers off first" she's dead.
How so? It's quite literally telekinesis that doesn't travel. The Rel+ part will be him getting launched away. By the time his attack gets fired he'd already be gone.

Regulus has human level reaction speed. Before he uses his authority to attack, Tatsumaki can send him hundreds of thousands kilometers away before he even realizes it.

The moment Regulus is ready to attack(not even enough time) Tatsumaki would already be beyond his eyesight etc etc.

Okay, but the attack would still be fired regardless of if he's there or not, so she flings him and dies anyway.
hundreds of thousands kilometers away
Her range is thousands of kilometers. Even if she flung him away at the very maximum of that tier, around 20,000 kilometers, it would take Regulus 0.067 seconds to return to the planet's surface. She would have to fling him away dozens, hundreds of times to move him away to a distance where it would take him an extended timeframe to return.

Yes, with him as its origin so I'm asking how will it land if he shoots it out when he's already in the sky/where Tatsumaki BFRs him to.

Tatsumaki can throw at rel+ speed. After "at least 100km", Regulus loses his connection to his wifes. he would die before being able to come back(or before he even reacts)

I meant is as he wouldn't even be able to do it. Also he lacks reaction speed to aim at her. and he has to touch things which the moment he does, Tatsumaki would be aware.

By just launching it from wherever he is. She doesn't have the range to move him a distance where it takes even a second for his attacks to reach her without continuously launching him countless times in succession.

That "0.067 seconds" figure doesn't mean much when this is a match where Tatsumaki can operate at Rel+ speeds. Again, Regulus is 1.1c while Tatsumaki is 0.75c. Even if you say that Regulus' wives are 100 km away from Tatsumaki, it would take her 0.000444752126 seconds to take all of them out. By that point even if Regulus wants to return, he would be far more vulnerable.

What? He still has normal human processing speed. It'll take 0.2 seconds before the attack even gets fired. By that point he'd be well Jupiter-bound. His attack range also doesn't cover how far Tatsumaki would launch him before those 0.2 seconds are up.

How is he even able to see her from that distance? other than his authority, he's only human. Also from that distance, Tatsumaki can dodge.

Even assuming he loses his connection to his wives, he still has a 5 second usage of Lion's Heart, which he can use to return to the range in which he is connected to his wives. Ignoring the fact that this is wrong and @Zabazab has already thoroughly debunked the idea, but let's just assume you're right.

Tatsumaki's attack speed is Rel+. Her reactions are not Rel+, nor is her combat speed. She's not "operating" anywhere, she's just launching attacks at that speed. Tatsumaki herself is over 100x slower than Regulus' attack speed.

The time at which the attack gets fired doesn't matter as long as it gets fired to begin with. They move at FTL and have planetary range. Even if it takes a second to fire the attack, it doesn't matter, because Regulus can hit Tatsumaki from wherever he is because she doesn't have the range.

This all ignores the fact that Regulus can simply choose to ignore her telekinesis whilst in movement and then come back.

Again, that is not how speeds function. She can potentially launch Rel+ speed attacks the same way I can shoot bullets with a gun, doesn't mean I can react to the bullet or move at the same speed.

You completely glanced over the point of that post. Tatsumaki's Rel+ attack speed is the speed at which Regulus would be BFRd at. Because of that, Tatsumaki has 0.067 seconds to kill the wives. She has MHS+ reaction speed which is more than enough to launch out another wave of Rel+ attacks. All of this can be done within that timeframe of 0.067 seconds you gave, so you are proving my point.

Being able to toss someone to the moon does not mean that you can send spatial slashes at that range AT ALL. That's a ridiculous claim. Tatsumaki can also dodge from wherever because FTL attacks from space are not a threat to a MHS+ character with Rel+ attack speed.

Tatsumaki has Massively Hypersonic+ reactions, aka 0.00000294 - 0.0000003336 seconds, aka still ridiculously above 0.067 seconds. Are you kidding me? This took 5 seconds to look up.

She BFR's him at Rel+ speeds.

Tries to kill the wives at MHS+ speeds.

While Regulus is returning to the planet and doing literally anything at FTL speed (which kills her instantly.)

And this works out for her, apparently.
Being able to toss someone to the moon does not mean that you can send spatial slashes at that range AT ALL. That's a ridiculous claim
His ability to stop Reinhard's time and have him travel to the moon means that anything that Regulus stops the time of can also REMAIN in stopped time at that distance. He doesn't need to send spatial slashes, even his breath can become a time-stopping instant death attack.

In the case of Regulus, it does mean that. Objects affected by his authority are unaffected by all laws of physics, which is why they can move at FTL speed, if they aren't, they just interact with reality normally again. Regulus tossing Reinhard that far implies that the range of his ability applies for at least that long.
i love when holding a gun amps my perception and combat speed to 370 m/s
I love when the OP of the goddamn match ignores that Tatsumaki has MHS+ reactions
Guys, chill out please. No need to get heated over this.

She's Massively Hypersonic+ and anything Regulus does is FTL. She's getting blitzed
Learn how distance and speed works. You expect him to fire hundreds of km away and hit her?

No, she BFRs Regulus at Rel+ speeds. I'm saying she can process things at MHS+ speeds which grants her more than enough time to kill the wives at Rel+ speeds before Regulus can come back.

As it stands, I'd say both sides have arguments that could give them the win. Regulus’ ability has the potential to end the fight almost instantly once he starts attacking unless Tatsumaki uses decoys. However, she would first need to witness Regulus' attacks before even deciding to use decoys, so I think it's unlikely she'd open with this strategy.

Tatsumaki's main win condition seems to be BFR. She could throw Regulus far enough, likely into space (despite statements of Regulus being able to come back from it), where he wouldn't be able to use Lion's Heart due to the range limitation with his wives (at least 100km), at which point he probably dies from the cold and radiation. This is something Tatsumaki could fairly easily do, but it's not clear if that's her opening move at the moment.

It has been argued that Tatsumaki wouldn't necessarily use her telekinesis to throw Regulus farther into space than necessary, at which point Regulus could come back. This isn't necessarily wrong, and in the case this happens, Tatsumaki probably wouldn't try throwing Regulus into space again since she has no idea how Regulus' ability operates aside from it making him a distortion in space.

Tatsumaki could however use her Telekinesis to move Regulus away at a distance that exceeds the 100km range of Little King (while still on earth), and then this gives her a chance to kill Regulus while his ability isn't activated. The counterargument is that Regulus could use his FTL speed and authority to return (though it’s unclear how, since he can’t react to his own speed). If he does, he may take the fight more seriously and resort to spamming AoE attacks, which would be deadly for Tatsumaki.

Since this message is getting rather long, I'll summarize what I've read so far (apologies if I'm missing anything).

TL;DR
Tatsumaki's advantages are as follows:
  • Can potentially BFR Regulus into space or move him beyond Little King's range, making him vulnerable.
  • Can use decoys that Regulus wouldn’t be able to distinguish.
  • Can tell Regulus is an anomaly in space, which would prompt her to be cautious.
  • Faster than Regulus.
  • Most likely to act first since Regulus generally just yaps a lot.

Regulus' advantages are as follows:
  • Invulnerable to all of Tatsumaki's attacks, but can be moved by TK. He could potentially ignore Tatsumaki's TK with his authority, but given the speed gap, he likely wouldn’t do so fast enough.
  • All of his attacks are instant-kills, and his large AoE attacks could nullify Tatsumaki’s chances of dodging.
  • His attacks are unexpected and FTL. Tatsumaki can’t react to them unless she’s already in motion before he attacks, since he doesn’t require gestures.
  • If thrown into space, there’s a possibility he could return. If he does, Tatsumaki is unlikely to try sending him to space again (she cannot tell what his ability does, and has no reason to assume it has a range limit. If she throws him in space and he comes back, she would probably just assume this tactic wouldn't work).

There are arguments suggesting Tatsumaki could figure out Regulus’ link to his wives, but this scenario is highly unlikely and requires too many steps. Her other win conditions seem far more viable. Imo, this matchup depends on many "ifs" and speculations about how the characters would behave (how fast does Regulus attack, would he take Tatsumaki seriously, how far would she BFR Regulus, would he come back from it, etc.).
Basically
7 pages already? Someone summarize the wincons/argumnets for me pls
And nothing major changed in this 7 Pages for this summary to become outdated.

Tatsumaki kills her the moment he loses connection to his wifes. the point of BFR here isn't to say "farewell, go to moon now" or anything
His ability to stop Reinhard's time and have him travel to the moon means that anything that Regulus stops the time of can also REMAIN in stopped time at that distance. He doesn't need to send spatial slashes, even his breath can become a time-stopping instant death attack.
Only the things he touches. not a thing thah touches me that was touched by him. Not that it would even touch her

Wrote this earlier in the thread, the rest has mostly been a rehash of the same points. Though there has been more arguments vouching for Tatsumaki being able to kill Regulus' wives with extrasensory perception, I think. That's the best I can do for you lol

Except all happens before he realizes it. He dies before he starts the 5 second.
Which would be a valid argument, if Regulus actually lost a connection to his wives at the distance you've proposed, which he doesn't, so I don't really need to humor this hypothetical anymore.
Learn how distance and speed works. You expect him to fire hundreds of km away and hit her?
Why wouldn't it? Regulus attacks can affect any area within his range if he wants them to.
No, she BFRs Regulus at Rel+ speeds. I'm saying she can process things at MHS+ speeds which grants her more than enough time to kill the wives at Rel+ speeds before Regulus can come back.
To kill them at Rel+ speeds she has to decide to do that at MHS+ speeds. Against Regulus. Who is moving at FTL speed.

What exactly even is Tatsumaki's range? Like the actual number of km she can launch someone. The scan on the profile is broken and nobody has given me an actual number, when the hypothetical I posited assumed she could move Regulus at the very highest end of thousands of km for the sake of argument.

I for some reason did not see this at first. This just blatantly isn't true lol. Why would she not do that when Regulus can't really do anything to stop it other than just come back? This gives Tatsumaki an immense advantage. While he's in space Tatsumaki would be able to kill several wives with the death of each one causing his Authority to deactivate for 5 seconds at a time.

Open his profile, go see "at least 100km" then come here thx.
Why wouldn't it? Regulus attacks can affect any area within his range if he wants them to.
What? his attacks still travel. you expect it to work hundreds of kilometers away? he can't aim from there + Tatsumaki kills him before he even uses anything. Even if Tatsumaki were to let him shoot, she would dodge easily since the distance is so high.
To kill them at Rel+ speeds she has to decide to do that at MHS+ speeds.
You can understand that part for tatsumaki yet how fo you expect average human level speed thinker Regulus to do it?

More than 2000km. Im on phone rn cant give the exact number

Why would she not do that when Regulus can't really do anything to stop it other than just come back?
What? He can just choose not to be affected by her telekinesis again once he's back, and then the option to throw him at all is no longer there.
While he's in space Tatsumaki would be able to kill several wives with the death of each one causing his Authority to deactivate for 5 seconds at a time.
Regulus' authority doesn't deactivate for 5 seconds with each wife killed. His authority deactivates when you kill ALL of his wives. If even a single wife has Little King in them, he remains permanently indestructible.

I said this when we didn't consider Tatsumaki killing Regulus' wives to be easily feasible and that she'd focus on Regulus instead. In which case my point was that she probably wouldn't try an attack method she knows doesn't work on a seemingly invincible opponent. Instead, I thought it'd be more in-character for her to find more creative ways to defeat him. Sorry for the confusion ^^'

What? He can just choose not to be affected by her telekinesis again once he's back, and then the option to throw him at all is no longer there.
He doesn't even have enough reaction time to thinking of coming back before tatsumaki kills her.

That is true only if ALL wifes are close to him. after a distance, their connection is lost (at least 100km) which is accepted as 100km

From what I’ve seen, Tatsumaki has only one win condition while Regulus has multiple, but her one win condition (BFR) is much easier to achieve due to the speed difference. If there’s no argument against her winning by simply throwing him into space before he can react, then she wins.

My Vote goes to her for now, i don't see a reason regulus starts with ignoring movement, she can throw him in space at rel+ speeds, one moment he's on earth, he'd blink once and the next moment he's in space.

I might change my opinion, but not for now

To kill them at Rel+ speeds she has to decide to do that at MHS+ speeds. Against Regulus. Who is moving at FTL speed.
Dawg, he is moving at FTL speeds across THOUSANDS OF KILOMETERS. Tatsumaki is still MHS+ she has ample time to react why are you ignoring my posts
Regulus' authority doesn't deactivate for 5 seconds with each wife killed. His authority deactivates when you kill ALL of his wives. If even a single wife has Little King in them, he remains permanently indestructible.
That's more than fine. Tatsumaki can kill them all at once with a though. It achieves the same result.

after a distance, their connection is lost (at least 100km) which is accepted as 100km
You have completely misread this line of text.
Little King has an unspecified limit on it's range where Regulus must be able to "feel his wive's love nearby," but it at least exceeds 100 kilometers as he is able to return from space.

This is not saying that Regulus gets 100km away from his wives, and Little King's connection is broken. This is saying that it EXCEEDS 100 KM, at the very least, as the distance between space and the surface of the planet far exceeds that distance. This is a horrific misunderstanding of a singular line of text.

To kill them at Rel+ speeds she has to decide to do that at MHS+ speeds. Against Regulus. Who is moving at FTL speed.
With Regulus' average human level reaction, their point does actually hold some weight. Regulus can come back at FTL speed, but before he does so, Tatsumaki would probably have enough time to kill his wives.
What exactly even is Tatsumaki's range? Like the actual number of km she can launch someone. I think they were arguing that she could use her Telekinesis to launch him away farther than the range she can use her Telekinesis by doing so at Relativistic+ speed. Basically like throwing a ball, you have limited range to grab the ball but the range of your throw would be much larger. That said, I'm not sure how the range standards go on this wiki, so I'm not sure if that point is valid.

Yes and that is still below Tatsumaki's Thousands of Kilometers 😂 There's no way for you to argue that "at least 100 km" can be stretched to include 2000 km distances within the confines of this match

This is not saying that Regulus gets 100km away from his wives, and Little King's connection is broken. This is saying that it EXCEEDS 100 KM
Whic is why it's at least above 100km.
at the very least, as the distance between space and the surface of the planet far exceeds that distance.
From surface to karman line is 100km. which is why it is "at least exceeds 100km". It still doesn't change the 100km in a versus thread limit
