Yes, is good.
I would't call the best work of the series like Luffy above, but is atleast top 3.
The animation is amazing, and the choreography for some of the fights are very good, and the humor is just what I like for a Akira work.
But there is a few problems that kinda lowers the score for me. Like, some of the new characters are kinda meh and there's the "Why din't character do this" in some of the fights.

I actually like Super Saiyan Blue as a transformation and what it serves narratively.
I'm not good when it comes to articulating myself, but I'll try to explain it as best as I can. Basically: I like Super Saiyan Blue because I feel it represents a rather unappreciated aspect of growing more powerful as a warrior than just gaining raw power, that being mastering yourself mentally and spiritually. In that sense, Super Saiyan Blue feels like the accumulation of all the lessons Goku was taught in controlling his energy and his mind by applying such principles to adding God Ki to Super Saiyan and using it to gain Blue.
That and I feel like Super Saiyan Blue was what Toriyama was likely teasing about back in 2014, back during that interview where he claimed that Super Saiyan 2 and 3 were simply powered up variations of just Super Saiyan 1 and that Goku mastering the latter would allow him to surpass the power of 2 and 3 without any of the issues around it.

Oh where to begin. I'm not holding back with this one. Time for a big list:
Gohan is an overrated character, and everything after the Cell Games was bad for him, yes including Ultimate. His character isn't remotely consistent. I like what Toriyama wanted for the character, but after the Cell Games where Gohan's arc concluded, his character undergoes several reverts and seems to be incapable of changing or growing further. Gohan's literal GIMMICK is "Potential big but no train when peace", it's happened 3 times now. First with the Buu Saga time-skip, and to be clear I actually like that one. Gohan getting sloppy about his training because he doesn't realize that big threats will still come is fitting, since he lacks the experience and wisdom of his senior warriors. I don't like that the issue is resolved by a random character using a magic ritual to give him a new form at all, it was extremely lazy and unearned, even if he had a cool aura fight against Buu where he immediately becomes overconfident and loses. By the way, this is the exact same mistake he made against Cell that lead to one of the most tragic moments in his life which he should've wanted to never repeat again, instead he repeats it again the moment he powers up and almost gets the universe destroyed (unless Whis is like "Yo Beerus there's some shit going on lol you might wanna go handle that"). But it doesn't end there, RoF reverts Gohan's arc again by making him slack off to the point that in a measly 3 and a half years he struggles to even go SSJ1, a form he MASTERED as an 11 year old. Then the same trope repeats AGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAIN with Super Hero, where he just powers-up and becomes a top-tier mortal fighter again because he sees Piccolo get hurt. Lol. Actual trash character post-Cell Games.
Goku is a good dad forced into bad circumstances, though people need to acknowledge that Piccolo was also a father figure to Gohan. Gohan has a mom and 2 dads, that's all there is to it. Could also add Krillin as the cool uncle but tbh that's mostly just cause of the Namek Saga and Krillin being Goku's best friend. I think people who call Goku a bad dad don't know what an actual bad dad looks like, which is a good thing. He exclusively wants what's best for his children. Forgetting his grand-daughter's name is terrible but that's just DBS for you.
People who think that Kid Buu is stronger than Buuhan need to be [REDACTED]. Not really a "hot" take but I have to say it wherever I go.
SSJG and SSJB are good forms narratively, I love SSJG's aesthetic as a "new base form" in which the previous farms are overlapped, but the execution of them is poor at best.
Raditz is a perfectly fine character as-is. He served his role perfectly, introducing a whole new aspect to the series, demonstrating the potential threat of future antagonists by humiliating the former one, and adding more backstory to Goku's life without unnecessary flashbacks. I don't even mind the fact that Vegeta got a redemption arc instead of Goku's brother, because frankly Vegeta's dynamic as a royal Saiyan elite who, under original Saiyan culture, believes that training is a tool for the weak, is way more interesting to me than a character whose only relevant quality is being Goku's sibling. Literally the pinnacle of the original Saiyan, not just in power, but in mindset. Goku, a low-class "piece of trash", being the one who teaches Vegeta some much needed humiliation and opens his view to a new lifestyle, is perfect writing.
I hate a lot of factors about DBS but it's a tad bit underrated, or I should say, overhated. DBS is mediocre most of the time, but it has REALLY good spots, and people saying that GT was better are exaggerating because of memory. GT wasn't good, decent, or mediocre, it was bad with some decent moments here and there.
The Dragon Ball Super: Broly movie is still the best Dragon Ball has been in over 20 years, though DBZ: Battle of Gods is a good contender.
Movie Broly genuinely embarrasses anime Jiren, IF Broly gets to or starts in Super Saiyan. Blue Gogeta no-low-diffs the ToP.
DBZ>DB>DBS~Daima>GT>SDBH.
Base Goku by the Android Saga already surpassed Namek Frieza. Idk if that's a hot take.
Tien is the most wasted main cast character in the series, Yamcha coming in second.

Conflicted on what to index God Ki under. There isn't really anything to index a highly-refined, ultra-pure, transcendent, and divine energy as other than Holy Manipulation, I think.
I looked very negatively upon the Galactic Patrol Prisoner Saga during the time of its initial serialization, but I am indifferent nowadays; I like some parts of it, I dislike some parts of it, and I am neutral on some parts of it. I overall hate the Granolah the Survivor Saga, even years after its initial serialization. It is, in my opinion, one of the worst things to ever come out of the primary media series—even including the Black Star Dragon Ball Saga I have never watched.

My hot take is beyond Beast Gohan being an asspull, adult Gohan is perfectly fine. He hasn't really 'repeated' anything tbh, as you have to be super reductive to think all the situations he's been in have had the same context and just straight up ignore how those situations are all different.

Nah, your brain just not big enough to understand the nuances of the series. I not saying is small trought, is just not big enough to understand the magnus opmus... that is the first 4 arcs of Classic Dragon Ball. Unlike the rest of the series, thay you can argue is mid, this arcs don't have any arguments that would put them bellow a score of 7. All of them is 8 or above.

Actually you know what? Screw it, I got another hot take: Super Dragon Ball Heroes, especially the manga written by Yoshitaka Nagayama, has genuinely well written moments and goes the extra mile of developing some characters further despite being a non canon spin off.
The moment where Vegeta overcomes Cumber's Evil Aura and makes the power his own while simultaneously rejecting the idea that evil is the true nature of the Saiyan race is something I could see being in the canon story. Of course Heroes is not perfect and I understand why it's not everyone's cup of tea, but I've read the manga adaptation and it's pretty decent all things considering.

Wouldn't it be more accurate to say "Later DB arcs>Earlier DB arcs" though? Z IS original Dragon Ball, after all, with the anime selling it as a sequel of Dragon Ball instead of just a continuation.

Okay. Here's some scaling hot takes;
DBZ SCALING IS EXTREMELY CONSISTENT. IN DBS IT GETS OUT OF HAND FAST AND IN DB HE DIDN'T CARE. IN DBZ TORIYAMA CLEARLY PUT THOUGHT INTO IT MOST OF THE TIME. And I know for a fact that's a hot take.
