Only animation that was really good and the orange Piccolo, the rest was something strange

I don't think content wise it's the worst year, we got Sparking Zero which was a very good return to the BT series (Albeit some of the inital gameplay mechancics pre patches were abhorrent, gonna have nightmares about Android 19) and the first half of Daima that aired the last few months was pretty good which is too be expected since Toriyama was super hands on with it compared to say Super or GT. I'd certainly put it above the early to mid 2010's (Besides 2013) for the series, which granted not saying much it's like saying 2024 was better for Sonic compared to... the entire 21st century so far, but I'd consider it a overall solid year overall and while not the best, far from the worst in content.

But I would consider it the worst year purely because of Toriyama's death. It's coming up to a year since it happened and Dragon Ball can't ever be the same without him, man was a legend.
 
Daima's alright. Though I sleep until Toyotaro makes a third Future Trunks saga. The way that last arc ended was ass, Future Trunks deserves better tbh.

Seriously though what was up with those NTR fanfics during the DBS hype days? (Usually Goku cheating on Chi-chi with Caulifla or Chi-Chi getting hakai'ed by Beerus then Goku hooking up with Vados).

I get Chi-Chi isn't exactly a popular character but having go through terrible heartbreak or straight up killing her off is peak fanon edginess at its worst.

I'm so glad those weird NTR garbage where people put Goku with just about every women except his wife have started dying down (Even if not completely gone yet), but I have started seeing more of those edgy "Cell returns and brutally murders Videl and Pan" fanfics so we're starting to trade garbage for garbage I suppose.

I mean, we had little new content for manga, and that was for early if i remember. And sdbh has ended in 2024.
But yeah, you're right about that. It wasn't all that bad a year, just it was a bad and sad year for me personally.

Given the fact that Dragon Bal as a franchise has grossed over 24 billion dollars in total, is one of the most profitable media franchises of all time, and is rivaled by very few others in terms of its popularity and impact on culture...I think it's fair that there's probably a lot of reasons as to why they would want to continue making Dragon Ball media if it keeps making money.

Even so, all those franchises print money out and do they continue on. Of course we can always argue about the quality of the products we are given, but the fact of the matter is that if something's earning money then you're going to want to continue that something to earn money.

Like why would the people behind Dragon Ball not want to keep making more DB media if it keeps earning them money? That makes no sense financially speaking.

Honestly, DBSSH is the worst film in the franchise and has a very weak plot, this is due to the changes that the directors made in Akira Toriyama to make Gohan the protagonist of the film, since the movie was entirely about Piccolo showing his evolution and there's still the fact that Cell Max doesn't even have a brain to reason.

Mainly two reasons:
  1. The Jump Force versions of the characters don't have any notable difference from their canon counterparts. A character like CC Goku has far different powers and a different story from canon Goku, justifying the existence of a profile for him, while JF Goku is literally the same thing as DBS Goku
  2. No one cares enough about Jump Force to make profiles for it :V.

You only get 1-B if you scale some of the characters (Such as Ajimu and Yugi) to their canon counterparts. None of the characters of the game canonically reach 1-B tbh, it's just sheer wank. Same for 1-A (Although the later has some basis on the game itself, but, considering the way we currently treat R>F Transcendence here, it couldn't be used to upgrade any character)

JF would at most be Tier 2 due to Prometheus wanting to merge all Jump Universes into a single one
 
It's really cute how they started out as work friends more than anything, a group of rather reclusive or at least kind of nomadic warriors that have grown into a group of buddies that go to each other's kid's birthdays.
 
Funny how a ton of them actually started off as Goku's biggest enemies, lol. Yamcha, Tien, Piccolo, Vegeta, Android 17 & 18, Majin Buu, etc...

Makes me wish that more antagonists from Super ended up joining them.
