Does anyone know if Alien: Dark Descent is canon or not?
 
I heard that in RPG it's stated that after the Cronus departed, the survivors left stranded on the planet accidentally activated an Engineer technology that caused the nearby red dwarf star, Gliese 685, to collapse on itself and become a black hole.

If someone makes a page for 6 would we just split her into two keys for her Drone stage and her Queen stage or just have it be "INSERT rating here, higher as a Queen"?
 
So has anyone thought about calculating those explosions the Plasma Caster makes in the first Predator movie?
 
Just watched Alien Romulus in theaters with my friend this past Sunday and it was such an awesome scary kino movie.

I'd go so far as to say it's my most favorite horror movie of the year and the best one I've seen in recent years since Saw X.

So I wonder how the Offspring would stack up with its fellow Xenomorphs in stats, though too bad we didn't get to see the guy in action for a little longer.
 
So for the video game only characters would we still give them the standard racial abilities they have in the movies/comics? I'm want to put together a Specimen 6 profile but I've never tried to do one for a complicated character like a Xenomorph, plus I have no idea how to make profiles with tabbers.
 
So from any Aliens experts on this wiki, I would like to know what are Queen Alien's best durability feats in any canon source outside the movies?

Because I recall so many years ago on another board, someone I debated with was downplaying Queen Alien and the Predators while wanking the shit out of action movie heroes like Rambo so badly by claiming that explosive arrows can kill the Queen Xeno in one shot and that the Predator's plasma casters were somehow inferior to Rambo's exploding arrows in energy and power.

Anyone like to weigh in on this?

Not that I disagree, but is there evidence that the Queen Alien survived the explosion of Scar's Wrist Nuke in the pyramid at ground zero?

Is there any Aliens/Predator expert here who I can defer to for durability feats and proper scaling for the Queen?
 
I mean look at this:

She wasn't in the epicenter of the blast.

But we don't know the extent of the explosion in underground (which Queen buried under to).

So I found a neat site for the script and deleted scenes for the first AvP movie and I discovered this for the scene when Lex and Scar were escaping the Pyramid through the tunnel with Grid Alien and the rest of the Xenomorphs just behind them:

In the script, the final explosion doesn’t actually happen until after Lex and Scar have reached the surface. The Grid Alien reached the top of the tunnel but was killed when the predator’s self-destruct device was initiated. In the film, the explosion happened when Lex and Scar were coming up on the sledge and it was implied that the Grid Alien was killed at the bottom of the tunnel. As you can see in the image below, the Grid Alien is on the surface with the hanging bodies behind it.

Far below, but with surprising speed, the Alien Queen is ascending the tunnel. Razor sharp claws cutting into the ice, giving her purchase. And clambering over her, even riding on top of her, are her children. Leading the hungry pack of ravenous aliens is GRID! Scar helps the groggy Lex to her feet. He pushes her on, running through the whaling station. Behind them, Grid appears at the mouth of the tunnel. CLOSE ON GRID. He is the first Alien to reach the surface. He HOWLS for Scar’s blood. This has been a personal grudge match between the two of them. He is about to leap forward when suddenly — The SCREEN WHITES OUT as the Predator Bomb finally explodes. The blast wave from the Predator Bomb hurtles up the tunnel. The snow around Grid’s feet vibrates with the force of the coming explosion. Grid turns back to look down the tunnel. The growing fireball is reflected in the shiny opaque dome of his head. Grid has only a moment to try and turn away before the fireball hits him with full force. He is BLOWN TO PIECES.

So it seems based on this, the Queen Alien and the rest of the Xenomorphs were actually not far behind Grid Alien in the tunnel when the little guy reached the surface first. And if Grid Alien got blown up by the fireballs or outer radius of Scar's self-destruct device's explosion, you can only assume that the Queen Alien actually survived while being just a little bit closer to the center of the explosion than Grid was.

Someone on reddit gave me scans for the novelization of AVP for this same particular scene, will post those later...

I'm also trying to rewatch parts of AVP to determine how far away was the Queen Alien from the Self-Destructive Device in the Egg Chamber when it exploded.

But the script version at least strongly and highly implies that she DID tank the outer blasts of the whole explosion in the tunnel...
 
So going from the AVP novel, some key points to consider:

1. The Queen Alien and the rest of the Xenomorphs were actually still in the tunnel right before the wrist-nuke explosion was just about to happen and the tunnel is said to be at least 2000 feet.

2. Alpha-Alien (Grid's name in the novel) was the first (and only) Xenomorph to reach out of the end of the tunnel just somewhere behind Scar Predator and Lex outside before the explosion occurred and killed all the other xenomorphs in the tunnel (save for the Queen herself) and even just the tail end or backwash of the plasma explosion was able to blow Alpha-Alien/Grid to bits.

3. The wrist nuke explosion was stated to be strong and hot enough to instantly turn millions of tons of ice into steam which "melted even more ice to create more steam" after it vaporized everything in the underground cavern.

4. The ice pack around the mouth of the shaft and the mess hall next to the pit were catapulted into the air and the ground began to cave in on itself after the ice cavern and pyramid were destroyed. Into the spreading crater, more sections of the whaling station, the abandoned base camp, and the mobile drilling rigs all tumbled and got sucked into the deep bowels of Earth.

Basically the impact of the explosion affected the surface so strongly that the the whole camp and the station around the tunnel turned into one giant sinkhole and there were ice earthquakes that still followed Scar and Lex for a little bit as they got away.

5. The splash radius of the wrist nuke explosion stopped just somewhere short of the iron vat near the cliff and the wharf and the docks over the frozen harbor.

Which based on the real-life location of the movie, was around Olav Peak/Olavtoppen:

The precise locations of the film's setting are inconsistent here.

6. The whole crater itself was much farther than Lex could see.

7. The Queen Alien actually emerged out of the crater closer to where Scar and Lex were standing on its edges.
 
I feel like I have a bunch of calc requests I want to do for Queen Alien in her Aliens and AVP appearance as well as the Predalien from AVPR and one feat for the plasmacaster in the same movie:

Which should I request first?

1. Ripley's grenade launchers into the Queen's ovipositor in the egg chamber

2. Ripley's belt grenade going into the egg chamber exploding where the Queen Alien was still at.

3. Queen Alien tanking a Power Loader falling on her.

4. Seeing how much Queen Alien would actually scale to Scar's Wrist Nuke explosion in AVP

5. Queen Alien busting through meters of solid ice from the explosion's crater.

6. Queen Alien falling on a burning house and destroying part of it with her sheer weight.

7. Queen Alien charging through whale bones in rapid succession.

8. Queen Alien getting yanked by the water vat chained by her neck into the ocean off the cliff without being decapitated somehow.

9. A Predator blowing a hull in their spaceship with the Plasma Caster by accident while chasing the Predalien

10. Predalien surviving a spaceship crash in Gunnison, Colorado and how much damage to the ridge formation the crash did.

If it's bigger than a Queen Alien (at least the Acheron Queen from the second Aliens film), then I wonder what its ap and durability would actually be?

Moderately if not Large Building-level at the very least?

I doubt it gets that high via GPE alone but its gotta be upscaling from a Queen just via its sheer size.
