Dragon Ball Super Discussion Thread 100

according-to-90-of-you-guys-piccolos-still-fodder-v0-jt4o3oidcykc1.jpeg
Just clarifying:

"Orange Piccolo can keep up with MUI" ≠ "Orange Piccolo is stronger/equal than MUI"

Piccolo could still endure multiple punches from Cell Max

Same writer who says he's Beerus level please
Same writer who wrote Broly being defeated not only by a weakened Super Saiyan Goku with the energy of weakened, base form Z-Fighters; not only by a combination Kamehameha from Super Saiyan Goku, Gohan, and Goten; not only by a combination Kamehameha from Super Saiyan Goten and Trunks and Krillin; but also off-screen by Goku and Pikkon.

To be FAIR, energy sharing in Toei Continuity gives you an ENORMOUS buff in comparison to your standard power. Like, if I had 5 energy, and then an identical copy of me had only 5 energy, but it was all from someone else, it would be worth an absurdly larger power value of 1000 or something. So SSJ Goku beating Broly with the Energy of the Z-Fighters, while striking him in his gut in the same area he was stabbed as a child, WHILE Broly already claimed his power was so overflowing he needed to release his power to survive before he like, blew the **** up, makes total sense.

And Second Coming Gohan also didn't stop training, so he's at least as strong, if not stronger, than his Cell Saga self and still lost, so that also isn't much of an issue because we genuinely couldn't guess the power they had in that film (same with Goku). Bio-Broly has no excuse, though.

Ki sharing is exponential an energy from weakened and beaten vegeta was enough for goku to transform into ssj blue to fight jiren

Wait, we're talking about Koyama? The same guy who people purposedly asked questions to wank DB like "Does Afterlife trascend the concept of dimensionality?", "Does DB world have an infinite hierarchy with each one trascending the one below infinitely?", and stated that all his tweets are only his opinion and nothing factual of the show?

Even though Beerus should stomp Broly, I don't think we should be using standalone Koyama statements unless they prove the obvious anyway, although it does here.

Tbh that was more of a "Power of Friendship" moment than Vegeta´s actual power, also, Goku needed UI to even harm Jiren
a badly beaten goku who was lying down and can't even walk suddenly had enough energy to go blue just by getting a beaten up vegeta energy I was never implying it was enough to beat jiren ,I don't think it was a power of friendship movement but more so vegeta giving his everything to goku

He got motivated to fight Jiren from seeing Vegeta being eliminated, in the same way he did against the Pretty Black Hole (In relation to his getting motivated)

I was never implying it was enough to beat jiren ,
This was more of a "SSB was useless in this fight tbh" comment not necessarily associated to your comment

I don't think it was a power of friendship movement but more so vegeta giving his everything to goku
Agree to disagree

Now that you mentioned power of friendship, I remember that a long time ago there was accepted a page for Power of Love, which scaled to Ribrianne gang and A18, what happened with it?

Second Coming Gohan is the same as Buu Saga Gohan Toei, he stopped training, it's just that by his rematch with Broly he had Super Saiyan 2 which he didn't have in the fight 7 years ago.

I know that’s how the continuity shakes out, (and that when we count the non-canon films we overlook their contradictory natures), but given this is unrelated to on-site powerscaling: Gohan specifically states he has powered up considerably since his fight in the previous Broly film. Specifically implying he trained in the 7 year gap, which then implies he expected his Base form to do significant damage on Broly (based on the strength/information he had on him) 7 years ago. Allegedly, Koyama backs this up in a tweet, (saying that due to Production Time they hadn’t accounted for the narrative change on Gohan’s strength), but I’ve never found a source for this—Ever.

Which ones? I imagine it's probably from the specials/movies, but still
Frieza's multi-star feat, broly and probably garlic jr. Buu was also stated to be capable of destroying galaxies
(just in case, I don't believe in any kind of Scaling from Abriged Goku to Abriged Broly)
He was able to tank a full beating from Broly so he should scale to him (or at least have an "at most" rating for that)

how do yall feel about ssj gohan hypothetically scaling around super perfect cell tier at full power
I feel totally fine with it. It's implied several times that SSJ Gohan > SSJ Goku, and he even thinks Cell MUST be holding back more because of the comparison in power he drew between himself and Cell. And while Cell ADMITTEDLY didn't use his full power until he saw SSJ2, it's heavily implied that the power he used against SSJ Goku was not insignificant, and even FURTHER, Cell implies if Goku had a Senzu Goku could have won. It's even more obvious to me given that Goku gave Cell a Bean specifically to prevent Cell from rage quitting because he felt SSJ Gohan was enough to do enough pressure to say "**** this I'm out," before Gohan actually unleashed his power.

It also assists in getting the real multiplier for SSJ2 established, which is 2x, not 10x.

Frieza's multi-star feat,
But that's not solar system level (and Buu's bits is post Cell, I also think it's not necessarily prural)

I understand Broly, I just don't believe in his scaling, because from the beginning he seemed superior to everyone, when he was starting out small (he defeats Vegeta with one blow) Broly wasn't taking him seriously, he probably wasn't using his full power
Broly beat them so badly (Vegeta with one blow) that everyone would prefer to be with any other previous movie villain. Within the Abriged movie it is made clear that no one came close to him in power level.
Where the hell is Garlick Jn's feat. (I don't remember his movie well), he doesn't do anything in his episode, and the Kai version is not canon

The mention of KaioShin probably refers to Kid Buu, not Fat Buu, and unfortunately, we never see Goku SS3 being comparable to Kid Buu in the Buu Bits, only fighting Fat Buu (Also, Goku literally says that Kid Buu is stronger than him and Vegeta.)

That the series reaches Galactic levels, they do (Kid Buu, Super Buu [any Buu above this], Gohan [Possibly Gotenks], Vegetto, Broly), but Goku just... doesn't get there, never gets to scale to some galactic/multigalactic and prior to that I don't know how many multipliers are valid in the series, that is, if there are enough for it to even reach the Solar System

Depending on how it goes, we could very well just have a multi-stellar Cell in Abriged.

I can't believe we can have a serious discussion of Abriged power scaling, and I love it

The great thing is that we can allow gag feats for the series, since it's literally a comedic parody.
