I think that is what ikemoto intended.
They evolved a little from the 10 tails using human dna that they absorbed as well as code dna. So from that little evolution their form imitates humans a bit. But it isn't perfect. Hence why they look ugly as hell.
I think as time goes on and they absorb more humans then they would evolve more and they would have a new and better design.
They design is going to show their evolution process

Kurama "turning the world to ash". There's also a statement in one of the Boruto guidebooks stating his Bijūdama can "blow up the earth".
Problem is that neither of these statements actually support planetary when you look at the original Japanese text. But that doesn't stop the Mrks, obviously.

Apparently this isn’t in the VIZ version (the 2x) so do you have the rawsno prob
So more counters to them not getting weaker as adults since even throughout Boruto itself they are getting stronger lol ( at least before their final battle with isshiki that is )
