Major Mortal Kombat Revision Part II

In my view the Tier 2 stuff should be handled in its own thread. This one is already 6 pages long with hundreds of comments. Such a verse wide upgrade should be it's own thing.
I suggested that but was told to do it here lol, I'd rather do it elsewhere though

Ig we can focus on the High 8-C scaling proposal then

I got why some would want to handle it all at once, but such an upgrade would be like making a 1-A DC upgrade on page 9 of a different discussion.

It needs its own dedicated topic in my view.

Have realms ever been establish to be universal in size? They may be separated space-times, but just in the new game Liu Kang stated that the universe its divided by each realms, no mention of them be as large as universes.

Unless there are some other statements that i don't know, it seen to be creating realms its only a 3-B feat, since each of them are still likely in the billions of light-years.

There's two statements. One from Shaolin Monks
Sub-Zero: Because, I.....I think he is my brother. If you want to defeat Shang Tsung, defeat Scorpion.

Kung Lao: Where is he?

Sub-Zero: The Netherealm is infinite in size, but Scorpion will find you if you are in this realm
And Ed Boon around deception said that Earthrealm has no physical limit.

So MK Classic it's a total 2-C cosmology but the modern is probably just Low 2-C.

To get things back on track, I once again wanna bring up High 8-C for the average Kombatant.

A weakened Taven was able to damage and take hits from the Ice Beast, which did this (9-A)

Sonya was able to casually one-shot the Ice Beast, meaning she should be stronger than it by a decent margin

Later on, a slightly stronger Taven takes this attack (High 8-C)

I don't think it's unreasonable to assume that average Kombatants are at least stronger than the Ice Beast, and are likely comparable to Taven at this point in time. The TYM feat is 0.011 tons while the Ice Beast's feat is 0.037 tons, so there isn't much a gap there. Sektor and Sub-Zero have 8-C feats to support this not being a huge jump

So, I propose three options;
  1. We scale the Kombatants above the Ice Beast due to Sonya oneshotting it casually (At least 9-A) (0.037 tons)
  2. We do the former but also add a "possibly/likely High 8-C" behind it, scaling to Taven's feat (At least 9-A, possibly/likely High 8-C) (3.66 tons)
  3. We scale them flatly to Taven's feat due to him being comparable to most fighters (High 8-C) (3.66 tons)

Yeah but Lui Kang remade reality including all the realms, so I don't think we can put the modern MK universe 1-1 with the previous ones.

Events and characters, but when it was stated that he alter the structures of the realms and turn them into one single space-time?

It's not stated but I don't know what our standards when it comes to how to handle events where the cosmology gets reset and created from the ground up. I dunno if we can assume whether or not Lui Kang basically wiping out the old cosmos. causing the big bang and then making the realms also means he made their structure and time the same as they were in the previous timeline.

Maybe something in MK11 confirmed or implies that Kronika kept the realms the same whenever she restarted history and we can maybe say Lui Kang might have done something similar to avoid the headache of planning out anything too complex. I dunno.

I don't think Outworld and Edenia ever merged in the new era, seems like it's being treated as it was in MK2 and MK3 where they were initially always the same place and never 2 separate realms merged together.

Wait I just noticed this is the revision thread for the midway era games we should probably discuss cosmology of the new era in the actual MK1 thread.

Well, there was this tweet by Stephanie Brownback that Kitana is Edenian, but also an Outworlder. So Liu Kang definitely merged Edenia and Outworld.

Also, didn't Havik say that there's thousands of other unnamed realms in the klassic timeline?

Don't know about Havik, but the stuff from Outworld does imply a lot more realms. There's six major realms that house the kamidogu and an unknown number of worlds that were absorb later on.

Where is this statement about the realms being so many?
That's the backstory of Outworld. Shao Khan/Onaga uses portal spheres to keep the realms attached to Outworld and in DA and Deception you hear about those orbs and how if you break them the original realm is released from Outworld.

Would Kronika get some form of Acausality due to being from an alternate timeline yet being all outside of Liu Kang’s destiny manipulation?

Her most Acasual thing imo is that she just perma-dies. Otherwise I don't see anything that would support her being on a different level of cause and effect.

In the final battle, it is stated that Shang Tsung held his timeline together and after he was defeated, the timeline collapsed. Does that qualify for Low 2-C?

Don't think we could use the MKX comics anyway, iirc anything to do with them was removed back when the midway/nrs split happened because apparently it was officially stated they're not canon.
