Rayman General Discussion Thread

Wow, that gameplay seems very interesting and different from the first 3 games, such as the seeming emphasis on close quarters combat. I find it interesting that a Rayman 3 Teensie is there and it looks like a skin from the UbiArt games is there.

Appareantly thiere is even more stuff like vehicles and stuf you can ride on, the wii trailer really was the closest thing to the actual rayman 4 unironically

theres even sphinter and womb level (meaning that gba rayman raving rabbids living cave level was highly like inspired by it)

Not related to Rayman that much, but a same creator, that Moskito cameo and Jade on our old profile check-list does make this feel like the plausible subject for a bump.

It’s kinda hard to fully trust Ubisoft as a company right now. Hopefully it comes out and it’s good, but it still seems like it will take a while no matter what.

This looks to be an odd show. Not sure how to feel about it so far.
I'm personally cautiously optimistic about it. I think the idea of different creatures working together to protect a baby Rayman (this is just me assuming that's the plot btw) is a really interesting idea. And besides from baby Rayman's design, which I don't think this bad but his eyes and hair should be a bit bigger, I think the art and designs are pretty cool.

Also, can I just how people are way too quick to say Rayman and the Moldies is bad when we haven't even seen a teaser trailer yet?

Yeah, fair enough. I really don’t have any reason to dislike it yet, so I’ll see how it turns out. It’s mostly just the artstyle I’m not used to I guess.

I suppose this is a bit early to ask but would we consider the Sparks of Hope DLC canon to the Rayman series?
We would have to receive some sort of confirmation from someone at Ubisoft. By this site’s standards at least, crossovers would be considered their own continuity unless for sure proven otherwise.

Nothing to report recently regarding the series. I wonder if we should add a Gallery section to the Verse page; just for fun of course.

Wow, that’s a bit of a bummer.
Well, (possibly) good news then.

The guy who took the screenshot and gave it to Rayman Universe (the Twitter account) told me that the show isn't actually cancelled yet. It's on a hiatus because the team hasn't yet found an animation studio to distribute it.

Well, what do you know? They found a way to make Rayman merchandise work haha:

A release date this 30th (day before an anniversary and after a decade of Legends' release), Purple Lums, flying submarines, The Phantom returning (plus TV stuff), and even maybe something familiar...

(starts shedding a tear) Holy Golden Telescopic Fist.

I've spent the last hour watching this trailer over and over again

Words can't even begin to describe how hyped I am for this DLC! From what we've seen, it looks amazing, and there's a lot of cool references to past Rayman games like the dragon from Legends and the Purple Lums from the original Rayman and The Great Escape.

Also, I really like the plot. Instead of being the typical "Rayman and co. save the Glade of Dreams", Rayman, Rabbid Peach, and Rabbid Mario are stars in Phantom's new show. It's far more interesting and creative than what I was expecting!

DLC looks promising with an interesting setup. So from what it looks like, the pirate stage references Rayman 1, the Medieval stage references Rayman Legends, and the Wild West level reminds me of the plunger gun levels from the first Rayman Raving Rabbids game. I do hope we see some more Rayman 2 and 3 references, but regardless it looks pretty cool!

The Purple Lums are a reference to Rayman 2 if that counts.

This isn't related to the DLC, but can we remove the "Rayman being created by Betilla" part of Rayman's backstory? I'm pretty sure it isn't canon since it heavily contradicts the series.

Eh, I personally feel like it is ok to keep. It is noted on his profile anyways that Rayman has several stated origin stories with it being unknown which one is his true origin. If other people agree, I don't mind if we remove it though.

Edit: It looks like it was already removed. I guess it's fair to remove the portion that was in the Rayman Origins trailer. There is a LOT in that trailer that contradicts what's in the final game.
