Dragon Ball Super Discussion Thread 100

He still effortlessly overpowered him in the struggle. That much is undeniable

Also that's an argument from incredulity considering Toei Saiyans are no strangers to generous power boosts, and at least this one can be explained by the fact that he was revitalized
No not at all actually. They only get stronger when they near death and Goku was nowhere near that state just only tired. Everyone also knows that the spirit bomb is from everyone’s power + Goku’s using his own to push the spirit bomb

Explain to me then how Jiren used a bit more power when Goku used the spirit bomb vs when he was just fighting with SSB? explain how when Goku is getting beat down he then resorts to the spirit bomb that actually helps him win the battle?

At this rate you're just arguing against the uncontradicted episode title

Different continuity, bruv

….what
Different continuity, bruv
Bruh. what does the continuity have anything to do with the technique? let’s also not forget that Vegeta realizes that the spirit bomb was another win (or the only way to win) too beat kid Buu meaning Spirit Bomb > Kid Buu which as u could see in the entirety of the episode that Buu struggled a lot more with that then dealing with Goku….and if that was not even more shown then that Worldwide Spirit Bomb > SSJ3 so it contributed a lot more. Heck even when Goku was tired Buu was literally struggling which is even more evidence that the spirit bomb is more of the reason for the win (not saying Goku ain’t contributed)

Just pointing out that if Goku gained a huge Zenkai that made him stronger than Kid Buu as a SSJ1, him killing him with the Super Spirit Bomb doesn't contradict anything, because he doesn't lose anything by pushing him back and destroying him with it, so either way he wins, plus it be a spit in the face for everyone involved in creating it to just kill Kid Buu without it, it's the principle of the thing.

Not interested in the wider discourse, but this is wrong. Saiyans are said to naturally get stronger as they fight. It's part of their Accelerated Development.

Near death boosts are just the biggest ones.

How would he get it though. He all did was just get his stamina back and that’s it. And I know that the spirit bomb is the main reason why they needed to win, with Goku’s added strength it was made possible

The series likes to use that in certain arc/scenes even though it’s been said multiple times cause. If that was the case then Goku should had beaten Buu without the spirit bomb

The series is admittedly inconsistent, but this trait appears repeatedly. DB Super especially.

Regardless, Goku vs Kid Buu hardly acts as a counter considering Goku was strong enough to win that battle. The issue was his energy was depleting too quickly to capitalise on anything.

So the spirit bomb is a giant ball and the user is ramming the giant ball at the enemy and destroys them when the enemy is " absorbed" (inside) by the ball, when the enemy pushes back against the spirit bomb, they're fighting against the momentum of the ball and the user, not the energy within the ball?

So when the user and the enemy are both contesting the ball, it's all up to who's the stronger of the two to see who wins right? Is this the reason that SSJ1 post revitalized Goku is > Kid Buu?

Interesting what does the extinction bomb do
I want to do that but I'm doing it on my phone so if you'd like I'll help here. And I've asked about this feat here as well.
[[Resistance]] to [[Disease Manipulation]] ([ Saiyans are immune to the Extinction Bomb]<ref>Jaco the Galactic Patrolman, Chapter 11 — Mission Accomplished!</ref>, which [ can eradicate an entire race with a virus in a very short time span])

Interesting what does the extinction bomb do
Releases a planet-wide super-virus that aims to extinguish the population targeted...
No. It explicitly affects humans only, not saiyans. Plus Goku's heart disease.
...which has been stated to work on alien planets in the past. The reason Jaco cautioned that the bomb would wipe out only the humans on the planet is likely because he understood that Saiyans were ineffective, and his only "motivation" for wanting to use the bomb was to prevent warring between the humans and the impending Saiyan child.

Guess it makes more sense that way 🤔

This resistance should escalate both the super anime and manga as well, I believe.

It’s thee spirit bomb that’s doing 95% of the work. That’s spirit bomb > SSJ3 and Kid Buu since the latter was even struggling against it even with Goku’s exhausted power added to it and legit

I saw one theory that the reason Goku was affected by the Heart Virus is that overuse of the Kaioken in ways it wasn't intended to be (pushing it farther than 2x) put strain on his body and weakened his inmune system.

According to Trunks, it was an earthborn virus that humanity (not Bulma) made a cure for in the future, and Goku just so happened to be one of the people on Earth that got it. Many people have the misconception it came from Yardret.
Really I don't remember trunks saying it was Earth born.
