We all know of the cliche of the protagonist beating absolutely anyone once their theme song starts playing in the background. What would happen if all characters like that had a battle royale? Who would win? Let's rank them in a top 10!

Standard battle assumptions, speed UNequalized

Characters that people mentioned should be on this tier list but haven't been ranked and organized in a tier list yet.

Sans
Giorno
Ichigo
Elzam von Branstein
Lonely's archive Goku

I propose Giorno Giovanna with Golden Experience Requiem to be the top 1 since Return to zero is pretty broken and nearly unbeatable.

He is well known for beating all his opponents once his theme starts playing.

Ichigo, you can directly scale how strong his opponent is by comparison using how they respond to his theme kicking in.

Does his theme song get regularly stopped like when that happened against Aizen? that would never happen to Giorno, just saying

also, can Ichigo beat Sans or Giorno tho?

Ichigo's theme generally plays whenever he's winning, with it playing right as he beats enemies or gains some advantage. However, it is frequently short-lived or outright no-selled. His theme song revs up then he gets stomped by Aizen, it starts just as he cuts Kenpachi only for Kenpachi to turn it back around on him and beat him, it plays as he uses Bankai the first time only for Byakuya to outlast him (I don't care how many times people tell us that Ichigo beat Kenpachi and Byakuya; if Ichigo collapses and then Kenpachi collapses, that's a draw and if anything Kenpachi is the winner, and if Ichigo collapses while Byakuya flash steps away, it's generous to even call that a draw), and it plays when he gets Fullbring only for that Fullbring to be stolen from him. So his theme song isn't an insta-win by any means.

I see, but can he beat Sans or Giorno tho?

I have the perfect one for this.

Now, you may not think this is right. You may not know who this even is. But suffice to say that in a world where tons of different mecha anime combine, each with their own special themes, Elzam von Branstein's Trombe trumps every other one via overriding every other single song, even other triumph songs. So this one wins via Interrupt powers.

Can he beat the others tho? (Sans, Ichigo & Giorno)

Y'all are saying random characters but none of you is debating on how we should rank those characters on a tier list. :v

what are his feats?
Instantly one shotted Perfect Cell as a Super Saiyan, instantly reached SSJ3 and one shot Perfect Cell, Badibi, Dabura, Badibi's space ship with everyone on it, Future Androids, Future Cell, Majin Vegeta, Vegeta's ego and self esteem, Goku Black and Zamasu when fused into Gogeta, broly, allowed him to regrow his tail and instantly transform into SSJ4 which allowed him to one shot Raditz, Legendary Broly, Perfect Cell, Post-Majin Buu Saga Vegeta and other feats that I'm forgetting.

Oh and in the Homie Cell universe, he can transform into SSJ3 and summon Bingo Dance Vegeta who converts anyone into a Z Fighter with his almighty Bingo Dance.

All of this happen when Pepsiman theme starts blaring.

I see, that would make him the physically strongest and faster fighter we mentioned so far. Would he beat Giorno's Return to zero though?

Actually, he once used Giorno's theme alongside Homie Cell to defeat Broly the first time around.

I don't think anyone cares who is strongest here; you're literally the only one who keeps talking about that and no-one is responding to it. Most people just care who pulls the biggest power boost out of their butt when their theme song plays. And that's technically more relevant to the subject anyway.

Fair enough, if that's the case then ranking them is pretty pointless

Or should we switch to something different like "let's rank them based on the power boost these characters get" ?

It's probably best to look at whose theme song suddenly replaces the rules of the verse with the rules of "main character power activated". Sometimes the theme song plays when they gain an advantage or think they have an advantage, but is still within the realm of the verse's rules, like with Ichigo. Sometimes it's as if the entire rule of the verse shifts and is replaced by a new set of rules when the theme song plays. Like Joseph Joestar getting bailed out by complete chance just as his theme song plays, to the point Kars goes from totally dominant to totally screwed simply because everything suddenly goes against him by total chance.

Why is Ichigo here? Aizen literally retconned his theme song into an instrumental for ages lol
He certainly doesn't break the rules of the verse when his theme song activates. It's usually only short lived at best.

I nominate Sonic.

Most of the time he's fighting the final boss (or sometimes just a boss) and any of his themes start playing, his opponents ass become grass.

Just to list a few: Perfect Chaos, The Finalhazard, Metal Overlord, Alfa-Lawlya wa-layla, Dark Queen Merlina, The Scorpion Monster, The Pirate King, The Ifrit, The Knights Of The Round Table, King Arthur, The Nega Wisp Armor and the Nega Mother Wisp, The Hyper Death Egg Robot, any of the Titans and The End.

And this is just most of the ones that have vocal themes.

Sans breaks the rules of the verse in a more 4th wall breaking way when his theme song plays
Being the only enemy smart enough to dodge your attacks, commenting on the player's existence, being able to know how many times you died and even attempting to stall his turn forever so you don't get a chance to attack

Dude's theme let's him beat/'fight servants that should stomp him lol.

It's so powerful it has dozens of canon remixes.
