God of War: Ragnarok Discussion Thread

Chu means they said mountain busting was too much for them to implement. They wanted it to happen but didn't have time to make it and the development for Ragnarok pretty much had the same reasoning.
NGL I suspected as much, it'd go over budget.

he cannot even break even the stone pillars or walk through the massive openings between the stone pillars lol
He’s evidently not very smart in that regard. Plus, at the end of the day it also comes largely down to plot. If it weren’t for the needs of the plot, then most video game characters in general would just bash their way through puzzles and obstacles without a 2nd thought

lol I'm mostly playing around , just replayed the fight and found it hilarious he cannot literally just leave via the gap between those pillars.

Anyone else Would want norse sides stories/prequels where we see things like Thor and baldur interactions or baldur before being cursed?
I feel like we'll definitely get a spin-off game where Atreus goes on random adventures throghout the Norse mythos. I doubt they'll just ditch Kratos and make his boy the main character for the rest of the series.

How does Kratos precognition works in combat? Also how skilled gow 2018-ragnarok kratos is compared to gow 3?

wished he had a proper boss fight
I mean we fight hermes after beating hades and poseidon
Considerating that even in the myths hermes is all speed compared to other gods iirc i think that boss decently fits imo

Okay so until Ragnarok didn't keep up With ps
But noticed that every gow game is on ps plus despite not being in the monthly free games
Does someone know how long they gonna be ps+ free?

I personally still prefer MCU/Marvel Thor. But for the setting he is in, GoW Thor fits
I raise you War Thor
I think thor in general can spawn lightning passively through weather manipulation.
Probably, I think we hear thunder roll when he starts getting agressive with Loki in Nifleheim

So it's not Precog, It's just Kratos can sort of enter Ultra Instinct by not operating of thought in bursts. He doesn't seem to do this all the time though and it seemingly doesn't counter Heimdall.

So what do you guys think about the existence of Greek philosopher in Kratos' homeland ? Does philosopher stuff mentioned in older GoW canon/secondary canon?

the latter question was just a different question

first question for the kratos key with precog
For the first question, he just has visions as the God of War of all future conflicts, he doesn't use it in combat per se because he simply doesn't see the need to, his cosmic awareness for all future battles only needs one peek, not that it'd matter anyway since he was bred from birth to be the killer of Gods.

Prolly within the game manuals and artbooks most likely, not sure about the novels.
Imagine Plato exist in Kratos homeland.
Plato theorized that a transcendent World of Ideas contained the perfect Forms of every object on Earth. When we see a table in our physical world, it is an imperfect copy of the Form of a table. To illustrate this, Plato used the “Allegory of the Cave.”

A group of humans are imprisoned in a cave. Behind them blazes a fire that casts shadowy objects onto the wall in front of them while hiding the true Forms of the objects themselves. These illusions represent our fallible human senses, but Plato believed that our knowledge of Perfect Forms was also innate to us. It was only through reason that we could unlock this true knowledge.

Plato believed that this contrast between the Ideal Forms and our imperfect copies also applied to concepts such as Goodness and Justice. Plato suggested that using reason to reveal the perfect Form of Goodness, instead of our imperfect copy, was the ultimate purpose of philosophy.

It could also be like Athena's own Precognition, in the sense it's there but it's not easily called in combat
