Pokemon Discussion Thread - Red & Blue arc

from what I read the magazine as a whole is a bunch of conspiracy theories and include Iron bundle being from the past for example.
The thing is though, to my knowledge, Iron Serpent isn't from that same one, as some Paradox Pokemon's entries seem to come from other things. It's not all from the same one
so why would time fill a hole normally erosion does the opposite.
I never said it was time only. Human efforts could've been a part of it as well (obviously much later, when humans start forming actual civilizations and have the ability to do that sort of thing). Now obviously this is speculation, but I'm mainly throwing this out there to show that a solution does exist. Plus, humans also have Pokemon with them, and we also don't know how wide this split was (hence why I can't calc it)
Maybe but that doesn't mean it is the whole thing that said sure I just find it flimsy do the other paradox Pokemon downscale
To my knowledge, the others wouldn't downscale and may just be comparable to their present-day counterparts. I could be wrong on this though

A lot of the books/magazines can be read in the school library. I think I can get some transcriptions of book contents, if folks want.

Doing a quick Googling, numbers 4 through 10 seem to exist, but 1 through 3 may not.

Enigmas of Paldea, File #04
Iron Valiant: An Experiment Gone Wrong?!
This oddity’s name is borrowed from that of an object
described in the Violet Book. One theory holds that it is in fact a robot – the
product of a mad scientist’s efforts to create the most powerful psychic
Pokemon of all. According to its few eyewitnesses, Iron Valiant appears similar
to both Gardevoir and Gallade. It’s also said to be cruel enough to take its
brilliantly shining blade and cut down anyone confronting it without
hesitation.

Enigmas of Paldea, File #05
Iron Hands: Secretly a Cyborg?!
This being’s name comes from the one given to an iron-handed
entity in the mysterious Violet Book. It is said to have fists that move
independent of its body and to be capable of throwing large, fast=moving
vehicles. A leading theory holds that Iron Hands was once an athlete who became
mortally wounded but was kept alive by being made into a cyborg. Why it so
strongly resembles Hariyama, however, remains unanswered.

Iron Thorns: A Tyranitar of the Distant Future?!
A strage being called Iron Thorns has been sighted in a
certain cave in Paldea. This being bears a strong resemblance to Tyranitar, but
it apparently displas great coolheadedness and prefers to avoid unnecessary
fights. It appears to be highly intelligent and clad in metallic armor, causing
some to speculate that it may be a Tyranitar as it would appear a billion years
from now. Its name comes from a similarly described entity that appears in the
Violet Book.

Iron Jugulis: Pokemon or Machine?
This flying life-form bearing a resemblance to
Hydreigon has been seen in a certain corner of Paldea. It was reported to have
razed an entire building with a high0energy blast, then flown off as if to find
its next objective. Iron Jugulis is theorized to be a sort of machine-Hydreigon
hybrid, as it combines the former’s ruthlessness with the latter’s ferocity. It
takes its name from a similarly described entity in the Violet Book.

Iron Moth: A UFO sent to Spy on Humankind?!
The name Iron Moth was borrowed from that of a flying object
described in the era-defining Violet Book. It was said to resemble Volcarona
and would descend from the skies, following people around and occasionally even
attacking them. Some point to Iron Moth’s aggression as a sign that it is, in
fact, a UFO of sorts being controlled by alien life. Perhaps something out
there is using Iron Moth to observe us, waiting for the moment to mount an
invasion…

Iron Treads: An Alien Weapon?!
In one arid corner of Paldea, there have been reports of a
mysterious life-form. It’s said to resemble a Donphan at first glance, albeit
one that can abruptly assume a spherical shape and launce into a swift rolling
attack. Rumors say this being is some kind of weapon using technology not of
this world, but no one can say for sure. Apparently, it’s called Iron Treads
after the name of a strange being that was written about in the mysterious
Violet Book.

Iron Bundle: An Ancient Civilization’s Robot?!
The mysterious Violet Book makes reference to a being
called Iron Bundle, which was said to look like Delibird and to possess a
spherical apparatus from which it would fire huge blasts of ice to propel
itself through snowy lands. Plenty of theories about it have been floated. A
leading one suggests it is the product of a long-gone civilization – a notion
supported by ancient writings that describe the design and usage of machines
resembling Iron Bundle.

Unfortunately, that source seems to lack the contents of the books in Scarlet. A comment I read claims, regarding Entries #4 & #5:
"In the Lighthouse Lab, on the bookshelf behind the whiteboard that's next to the couch".
The rest, AFAIK, are in the Academy Library, but only your own game's versions.
Once again, I find it fascinating that Entries #1, #2, & #3 are mysteriously absent for both game versions....

Here's what I can find for the Scarlet entries. Where I found them, among other info.

Enigmas of Paldea #7:
Sandy Shocks: A Magneton with a 10 thousand year lifespan!!??

Some scientists claim this mysterious being is as Magneton that has lived for 10 Thousand Years. It has been sighted numerous times in Paldea's more arid regions, but there are no reports of it ever being caught.

It is said that Sandy Shocks is an aggressive sort and that some people who've seen it have been attacked as well. It takes its name from a beast with a matching description in the era-defining Scarlet Book.

Enigmas of Paldea, File #08
Slither Wing: A prehistoric Volcarona revived!!?

There have been precious few sightings reported that the ultra-mysterious Slither Wing, a being whose name is taken from that of a similar seaming creature described in the ever puzzling Scarlet Book.

Slither Wing shares traits with Volcarona, so some theorize that it may have been revived from fossils from a prehistoric era that we have discussed in these pages. However no Volcarona fossils from this era have been found.

Enigmas of Paldea File #9
Great Tusk: A Living Relic of the dinosaur era?!!

In one arid corner of Paldea, there have been reports of a mysterious life-form. Its said to resemble a Donphan at first glance, albeit one with gigantic tusks, tough scales, and an aggressive disposition.

Leading theories hold that this being is nothing less than a living relic of the dinosaur era, but no one can say for sure. Apparently its called Great Tusk after the name of a strange being that was written about in the mysterious Scarlet Book.

Occulture Article on Scream Tail:

Enigmas of Paldea File #10
Scream Tail: A Billion year old JIgglypuff!??

Somewhere in a Paldean forest, its said, lurks Scream Tail--- A being with Jigglypuff's own endearing puffball appearance, but also a ferocious aggression that leads it to attack anyone that comes near

Its Primitive Appearance and Savage Nature have prompted rumors that it could be a Jigglypuff from 1 Billion years ago. Its named after a creature in the Scarlet Book that is described as having a distinctive tail and scream.

In good news, my searching lead me to finding someone who posted this link:

It shows the contents of both versions' Scarlet & Violet Books, as well as a small bit of their Magazines.
If we end up using any of the info from these books on our profiles, I strongly encourage taking screenshots or such so they can be linked as sources on said profiles.

But as is, we still need some "scans" &/or transcriptions of the books found in Naranja Academy, the Academy in Scarlet Version, & the Lighthouse Lab.

Yeah, I think the Paradox Pokémon are truly what the leakers said they were.

TL;DR - Scarlet/Violet's Battle Stadium Mode (& Ranked Battles, if that's not the same thing.) are using the same RNG Seed. Meaning if you know the order of moves, you can determine what "random" results will happen. At least, for accuracy.
This means things like Frost Breath always missing if it's the 1st Accuracy check, set-ups to guarantee a OHKO hits, & probably more jank.

If Ranked is delayed, this probably has something to do with it.

oof

Do you remember the Unown movie? The "third legendary" can do similar things.
Oh yeah, the "Third Legendary". A lot of stuff provides evidence that the Paradox Pokemon might not be but products of time travel, but creations. Atlhough, concerningly, that brings up the question of what about the Poke Balls being sent to the "past"/"future", & come back with Pokemon? & the professor sending themself to that time period? What's happening to those things if not time travel?

So assuming we are going to have to add terastallizing as the ability is possessed by some wild Pokémon it is crystal manipulation, transformation, minor empowerment, resistances of the individual typings, and resistance to sealing because they can’t be caught while terastallized

Already High 6-A for the legends damn.

It's a bit feat but could Ting -Lu's fissure be calculated too?
ScarletThe fear poured into an ancient ritual vessel has clad itself in rocks and dirt to become a Pokémon.
VioletIt slowly brings its exceedingly heavy head down upon the ground, splitting the earth open with huge fissures that run over 160 feet deep.

You mean from its Violet Pokedex entry?
Or does it have some feat mentioned in dialogue? I do recall the history teacher recounting a legend of how the 4 Ruinous Pokemon brought a castle to ruins in the space of just 1 night....

But on the topic of the Pokedex entry, I'd be cautious. Even though it doesn't seem like capitalizing "earth" when referring to planet Earth is common in Pokedex entries, we should probably be checking the Japanese version to check what it means, when it talks about "splitting the earth".
Also, the series uses metric anyway, & tends to prefer numbers that are whole & multiples of 5; "Over 160 feet" was probably originally 50 meters.

Someone calc'd Koraidon splitting Paldea, though, right? Feels weird for Ting-Lu to have a higher feat if it's a lesser Legendary, being regional rather than box art.

The final chapter in Ash's story.... I wonder how they'll decide to end it.
Boy will that be a riot. Arguably, it already is.

I wonder what the Shiny Rayquaza's role will be? Like the Ho-Oh Ash saw?

It's also interesting that both for Ash's journey & the new series, they call it a dream.
Ugh, theory-crafters are gonna have a whole "year" of field days with that....

I don't really think the splitting the earth thing should be taken very literally lol

I was just wondering what tier causing a 160 foot deep fissure would be.

Concern: We have depth, but.... Length? Width?

That said, it does seem like there's at least a gap or 2 in the ground formation near where Ting-Lu's stakes are. Look at the map & such.
Might be similar to how, IIRC, Chi-Yu has obsidian near it; Obsidian is formed by lava being cooled, which could happen if something was melting all the rock near waterfalls.

拳で 大地を 引き裂いたと 古い 探検記に 記された ツバサノオウの 正体らしい。

古い 書物に 名が ある テツノオロチらしい。 雷で 大地を 灰に 変えたという。

Japanese statements for Koraidon and Miraidon's dex entries. The saucy ones.

I'll see if the Treasures of Ruin gave good Japanese scans.
