The Boxer Webtoon Discussion Thread

I feel like Yu does have a chance at beating Sans since his soul hax isn't insta kill and he could keep up with the danmaku long enough for him to tire out. TK would definitely be a problem, tho. Not sure if he could endure it if Sans just spams it.
The moment an enemy can harm Yu once is the moment he loses. He's a glass cannon much like Sans. His durability is lower than his striking power so yeah. Also Sans is definitely the worst enemy for him

I'd argue heavily against Yu being a glass cannon(as I have in the past), but I've just gotten off from a break from the wiki, and I have schoolwork to do, so, I'll save that for a later date.

Happy debating, in the future.

Curious on your argument but yeah focus on school first. Happy homeworking

I'd like to hear your argument as to what makes him a glass cannon either way.

Well comparing him to sans is an exaggeration. But honestly the non-existence of tanking feats is important alongside the fact that with how Boxer portrays strength and monstrosity, it's clear they portray Yu's deadliness as his capability to oneshot and sheer speed. If they wanted to even portray that Yu can tank even weak attacks they'd have shown it already.

His attack deflection is the closest thing to a durability feat but even that's more like redirecting an attack.

And this proves he's a glass-cannon... how, exactly?

Quick thing, I have to word myself since I just realized the misunderstanding and I didn't clarify it.

I jokingly called Yu as something equal to Sans but that's not the case. I also said it's an exaggeration, but Yu is not as durable as he is strong.

Yu's specialty being entirely on speed and attacking first + Viktor's statement referencing "His attack power is higher than his durability. Also his hand looks like it can break at any moment" + A verse that loves to emphasize someone's specialty by having them do said specialty = Yu's durability does not match his striking power.

After rereading his profile the only feats of him being durable was when he was being abused and bullied which I doubt Ryu was going all out for when he's been always toying around with others. After that he doesn't really have much for durability feats which is weird considering a verse like Boxer should've definitely portrayed him taking a blow.

TLDR = No I'm wrong he's not a glass cannon. But his durability shouldn't match up to his AP.

I'm well aware that his durability isn't equal to his AP, I'm the guy who made the profile, but pushing a narrative that if the situation arose, he'd just be incapable of taking a hit is completely nonsensical. In fact, his durability would have to somewhat scale to his AP, or else he'd harm himself trying to attack.

Fair fair, and for creating the profile I give you kudos. I misunderstood your intent in that case since I thought you were going to argue for those two to be matching. My bad on that!

But that said we really have no definitive idea on how much punches Yu can take close to his level past his early days.

Well, technically, I did not create the profile. I just made it as good as it is today.

And I am aware we have no real endurance feats for Yu, but in most cases it's impossible to hit him, so we've no real need to deduce how many punches he can take.

Oh lol. Well fair's fair, still nice since that means you still worked on it.

True that's the annoying part of Boxer. I wish that Yuto was the one who dealt damage to him on his own Awakening. And then they showed it that he could take a hit too. That would've been the perfect way for that to end. But ah well.

Btw did no one really tried to calc Aaron's feat lately in the last fight of his? I calced supersonic feat for him long ago by using the same way they got speed buffs from Kengan. I'm surprised at that.

Victor punching faster than gun shells falling from a machine gun. It's on the verse page.
Ahh, honestly it doesn't feel like you can get much out of that calc. Not to mention it wouldn't make sense when everyone is faster than Viktor. It's only his luck and immensely op strike that makes him so formidable.

Dude it's just a speed calc you don't need to think so hard about a guy punching super duper fast.

Victor is an idiot why we assuming the punching names he calls out are different techniques or whatever lmfaoooo.

Well he does noticeably punch in a different way here lol. I mean look at how varied his attacks are to the mightiest of them all. Holy Punch.

Also I did a thing, but since I'm swamped with deadlines this is the rough version for now. https://vsbattles.com/threads/aaron-tide-has-become-speed-wip.143079/

I went with a high estimate but there ya go some Mach 1+ Boxer ๐Ÿ‘€ Please bow down to my amazing calc.

Also Yu speedblitzed Viktor whether his reactions scale or not
Everyone and their mom can blitz Viktor lol. Except maybe that wild guy who Yu humiliated. (Just kidding but the god tiers do massively blitz Vik)

We can't view sandboxes on the forum homie. You gotta blog it.

Plus it's prolly an outlier so rejected + ratio.

Oof, was gone for quite awhile and first time using sandbox. Anyway nah it's nice because it's on Aaron and Yu only. Both known as boxers who transcend boxers. Anyway I'll just copypaste bits of it since I gtg rn

I'm gonna assume peak superhuman reaction and an estimate of 3 meter distance (estimated it). Can do some proper pixel scaling later.

An experienced fighter pilot can notice 1 image at such a frequency. And even the second person cannot fathom what just happened. Initially he was able to see but then became too fast.

T = 1/220 = 0.0045 seconds;

One punch.

V = Distance / Time = 3m / 0.0045 = 666.666667

doesn't matter. There's no reason for him to punch at a heavily lower speed. Holy punch was a joke. Heck they even point out that he punches so fast he doesn't feel the heat of the magma below him. He has an explicitly fast and heavy punch. There's also no reason for him not to get serious and punch Yu at max speed considering both are champions.

I mean yeah but that's the one move (gattling punch) he doesn't use against anyone else ๐Ÿ‘€. Actually let me try something that might scale to Aaron, Yu, and J
His moves aren't really anything except for comedic purposes. Gatling punch, holy punch, lightning punch, cum punch, etc... All of them are just normal punches, but he's a dumbass that wants to add names, so it scales.

Literally this.

Please don't make scaling so complicated ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Okay agreed on everything minus the magma thing. That was really all about speed on the lava thing? Due to Leidenfrost or whatever?

Genuine question, I'm thinking of a match up with Adam Jensen and I think it can actually work. (Ignore the Building level stuff shhh shhh) Thoughts? With a version of Yu that's criminally underappreciated. Yu with a gun

You can't restrict Adam's weapons and have the match be added to profiles, since they aren't a higher tier than he is.

His entire thing isn't just all about guns though. His punches can smash down walls even if slightly limited. That said I'm pretty sure even Yu would be fine dealing with weapons. Is it really that unfair?

Yu can deal with weapons, sure, but Adam has guns, which are much faster than Yu, and have piercing damage. It's not him having weapons, it's just that he has weapons that Yu specifically cannot deal with.

I also don't see why Adam would resort to physical combat when he has the ability to just cap Yu.
