Short Summary
The power to have characteristics that (has processes that) can’t be explained (or examined) by science due to it’s transcending nature over the real world’s scientific &/or natural laws with no illusions or hallucinations are involved to explain it. Note that if science can’t explain the (processes of) illusions/hallucinations, it’s supernatural.[1][2][8] Note that uncommon or seemingly magical characteristics like explosions,[5] illusions from real world magicans,[6] rare genetic traits in animals/humans,[4] scientifically explained ghost sightings,[2][3] & other examples aren’t supernatural due to science being able to physically explain these phenomena. Users are able to do The requirements of being supernatural should be listed in the types below. Note that the reason why being unnatural or very uncommon isn’t a type is that the definition of what’s natural is more broad, dependant on perspective, as it borders between what’s “strange or impossible” & possible in real life.
Type 0 (Absolutely Impossible): Entities having characteristics that would be impossible to have in real life even under the most lucky circumstances (if something has even the slightest chance on happening like life happening in the universe or an enormous extinction-causing asteroid strike happening, then it’s near impossible, not absolutely impossible). Examples (unless with context suggesting otherwise, may) include a human character being more superhuman than peak humans, a nuke destroying a universe, etc.
Type 1 (Nonphysical): Entities having characteristics that would be unperceivable by human senses to the point where they can’t be experimented on or shown to exist, like the prisoners thinking that the shadows are our reality in plato’s allegory of the cave.[7] The human brain does use itself & it’s senses to make up reality,[8] & it’s been suggested that reality is an illusion many times due to optical illusions, simulation theory & new age beliefs.[9][2 ref needed]
Type 2 (Incomprehensible): Entities having characteristics that would be incomprehensible by nature to all humans, applying to abstract beings, beings that make people go insane due to their physically incomprehensible nature, etc. This is a higher form of type 1, but abstractly beyond being something like non-physical or invisible.
Weaknesses & Limitations
- Things with equal/superior supernatural powers/abilities can beat another supernatural things & may negate some of their powers
- Notable pieces of knowledge like the things’s weaknesses & limits can be exploited by other less powerful beings.
- Reality Warpers & other equal powers can beat type 0 Supernaturals
