It doesn't imply attacking the soul though, at best it implies you need a strong spirit to not die to the poison, no idea what spirit means here, but assuming it means souls sounds more like an clear mind and will

Agreed. This seems less like his soul being strong enough as it is his willpower being strong enough. Context definitely kills this one, sorry.

That basically implies it attacks the soul though. You need a strong soul to survive the poison. Why else would you need a strong soul to survive a poison that doesn't attack the soul?

You need a strong spirit for the poison to not kill, it never mentions your spirit being attacked, the poison won't affect you at all.

Well it is the screen when Babidi try to force Vegeta to obey his command but he tell him to **** off kind of thing
We could see that he did struggling and being affected by Babidi mind control, but he "wrestling" against the spell, so it possibly he also use supernatural willpower to resist the spell at first
