Another Pokemon Champoins match: Iris vs Leon

We have two tan skin and purple hair Pokemon Champion. So why not?

Gen 5 champio vs Gen 8 champio

Leon has Aegislash (hold Life Orb), Dragapult (hold Eject Button), Haxorus (hold Focus Sash), Mr. Rime (hold Expert Belt), Inteleon (hold Assault Vest), and Charizard (hold Charti Berry). Iris has her Champion team on challenge mode.

No Mega Evolution and Dynamax in this match.

All right. Then yes challenge mode Iris here. And since Iris's team's hold items. I updated Leon's tema's to hold items too,.
 
Is this a 6 on 6 or three on 3 battle? I give the edge to Leon though, since he's got mons that's **** up Iris' team composition. Water types, Ice Types, Dragapult, + Weakness Polucy Aegislash.
 
I mean, she can switch into Lapris for Intelleon and Mr. Rime, but then you have the possibility of Aegislash using Sacred Sword and blasting it to bits, so.

These matches really need more preamble. Like, do they know about each other's teams ahead of time (prep time), do they get a team preview to choose a lead? What's the SBA for Pokémon battles?
 
Well, SBA state that no prior knowledge of each other. So I guess that it's apply for Trainer too. They chose their first one like they normally do.

Oh, and This is 6vs6 battle of cause.
 
So then that makes Leon's team composition extremely variable. He could have any of the mons necessary to counter Iris or very few of them. I think I want to give the edge to Leon for being able to do that, but it means nothing if he doesn't bring them, which is extremely possible given the permutations of his team. He could bring his Intelleon team, but that's arbitrary given he has no knowledge of iris. Running the Calcs, Aegislash is guaranteed to live a standard fire blast from Hydreigon, procking weakness policy. But, it can do at max 90%, so, it'll hurt really bad. If he gets a burn, that Aegislash is on a timer and it's usefulness is dubious. And Wise Glasses increases the power of special attacking moves, so she has the potential to one shot Aegislash as well.

It's pretty even and is all about how they play it. I feel like it would be cool if we just ran these battles against each other or ourselves using their teams to see who would win more often than not, given this is basically a stats equalized match.
 
But can't Aegislash use King's Shield to protect itsself before use Sacred Sword to defeat Hydreigon?

Anyway, you can't decide whohould win here? Inconclusive?
 
I mean, if we're thinking in game, that would just delay the inevitable, because it's probably a defensive variant of Aegislash. If it's max speed Aegislash then probably, but it doesn't seem like that's what Leon is going for with Weakness policy. If he goes max speed max attack, that can kill Hydreigon easy with one SS, but he runs Weakness Policy, and wants to get hit to get the boost in all attack and speed, whilst likely being bulky and hard to kill in the event something could outspeer, so it's likely a defensive variant initially. And that won't stop Burns from happening or it dying in one shot to take the hit.

I feel like Leon has the advantage, but if he'll use the mons he needs to its unclear. I probably need to battle this out on Showdown with my friends to give a real vote.

Best move would probably be to Run max Sp. Def Max HP, then Dynamax Aegislash, get the weakness policy boost, and sweep using Sacred Sword/Max Knuckle to get even more power. She can't dynamax so... But he won't do that in character. So... oh. No dynamax. And he's got canon items he uses in game. Change the items on the OP. Oh, it assumes Intelleon and Rime too. Then Leon wins.
 
Hmm, my vote is for Lionel (okay, Leon in english), better team in this case, and... more experience? Probably yes, he's a veteran champion and winner

Also, anyone else wish that rumor of Iris and Leon being cousins was true or is that just me?
