And what does that mean? Game canon is the main one right. Anime and Manga canon are secondary
I mean as in it would only apply to the game timelines but not anime, for example, as he doesn't exist there.
All licensed pokemon media is canon, the games are just taken as the unshakable canon so things that contradict the games won't get applied. In this case, the games contradict themselves and it could be explained away with Red not fighting/not losing to Gold or the protagonist of BW2 in that specific timeline.

Just the fact that you can lose the fight against Blue in the first and second encounters with him already supports that the statements can be contradictory

Ah not really it just means he never lost the fight with blue in the actual games and we don't know how his fight against gold ended as thier is nothing to imply that he lost. And taking blue's this statement in account it's safe to say he won
