there's content on the Lucifer page saying the 2018 Lucifer run is non- canon and a reboot. But the writer himself has said everything before that was written by Holy and Carey happened.

Lucifer is "a fractal figure", as said Dan Watters.

Recently : https://twitter.com/DanPGWatters/status/1184929519054020608

Writer said: "The truth is, we wanted to delve into new territory and leave the prior run to stand, as it does with aplomb. All of that stuff happened, but this stuff happened too. Glad you're enjoying the book!"

It should be noted that this idea of "fractal figure" also exists in the DC universe

You should ask Sandman31 to comment here regarding how we should handle this issue.

the thing is the main DC contiuinty would not appect vertigo imprint of the classic morningstar as said by Holly Black she said "Vertigo has its separate canon," its clear in DC they are trying to make a different hiearchy in power. Thats why most ppl say The Presence,Lucifer, and Michael are the most powerful, then been switch arounf to The Writers, Cosmic Armor Super, and Mandrakk to replace Vertigo as they want a hierarchy separate from Vertigo. They have different views so they only inculded Lucifer because of the fact he was so popular and a TV show was coming up about him and nerfed him alot he was there only for the gag and a quick run just for the short preview of how the show should of been set comic style. So DC compeletely ingore Vertigo Lucifer so just ask MIke Carey to write Lucifer again if u want.

Wrong, Wrong, Wrong

you are dead wrong Lucifer is inside the sandman universe, and sandman universe is part of DC cosmology per canon

most recently we have Elaine being mentioned in 31st century

https://imgur.com/a/Teb4Dak

back in the day JLA has shown up in Gaiman's sandman many times, here's one instance

https://imgur.com/a/7K2tfea

here's dream meeting Lex Luthor

https://imgur.com/jRQXIwG

Darkseid has also shown up in Sandman

https://imgur.com/hd8VpPA

Destiny of the Endless has shown up in the Superman before he even made his vertigo appearances

https://imgur.com/a/7mlsK1w

Death and Dream has shown up in DC main continuity too many times to name

Michael and Lucifer has shown up in Spectre

Vertigo and DC share the same Multiverse/Omniverse

vertigo cosmology IS DC cosmology, this is a fact that's been recognized as irrefutable canon by the company and general consensus of internet forum

morrison's map is literally bound by destiny's book, dream and death has appeared in dc books multiple times, dream has his own realm in the sphere of gods, heaven is also resided there, lucifer has flown into overvoid and visited other multiverses, which was confirmed in snyder's JL of endless multiverses in the overvoid

dc cosmo has been referenced in vertigo books multiple times too, as Gailman direct reference to the history of planet OA or RAO/krypton in endless night, Despair's convincing Rao to bring life on the unstable planet is literally the reason Superman exists.

these kind of examples are countless

planet mogo appears in sandman overture

the void is the overvoid is the primal monitor, as it is the literal white blank pages outside the creation/omniverse https://comicvine1.cbsistatic.com/u...T-dpo4ywGRIaXv5N6y2_C4OxCNhApoiMdigBcba=s1600

The Alephs and The Source mentioned in both Lucifer and New Gods stories https://comicvine1.cbsistatic.com/uploads/original/11139/111398540/7082430-7367133148-4yHRw.png

Vertigo cosmology is DC cosmology verified by DC via Morrison and DeMatteis, They have the same Supreme Being

also Constantine has appeared in both Lucifer and DC main continuity

Lucifer and Sandman Universe is under DC Black Label now since Vertigo being shut down, and DC Black Label is DC canon.

shall I continue?

I cannot believe it's 2019 and there are still people saying Lucifer is seperate continuity, when there are endless on panel evidences suggesting otherwise. in fact 90 percent of the people have agreed vertigo is dc cosmology canon. the ones who don't agree are usually marvel fans trying to discredit DC

This Twitter from Morrison if I'm not mistaken is fake, but yes, DC and Vertigo are the same cosmology, that's unquestionable.

Holy Black affirm something that doesn't match reality should not be taken seriously, she says vertigo and DC has different canon, but soon after this speech of it, on dark nights we have Daniel Hall, who even has dozens of interactions with league members, participating in the Dark Nights event and guiding heroes.

And it's not just that factor, it's a common consensus of most DC comics this shared cosmology, in the comics the only one that was officially separated was Preacher.

On the other hand, as the @Owennoctis said, if you read several dc comics before even dc characters go to the vertigo seal (or after; anyway), the story has always been turned on, cosmology has always been one.

@Owennoctis

yeah gues your right i though u were reffering to something else but their cosmology wasnt always tied but yes nowsdays they are tied to that same cosmicology

I also want to bring the fact there is a scen of Lucifer watching sunset in a beach of Australia after abdicating his throne. This scene links to Spectre in the 90's where he finds Lucifer in Sydney watching Sunset. Searching for God. Also, to the fact that the God that created Lucifer was not Yahweh back then.

When the ending of dark knights metal shows the disapearance of dream and that outright connected to sandman the universes storyline.

Not only that but dream makes an important appearance in an earlier issue.

Idk why people are claiming vertigo isnt in the cosmology when its been in it since post crisis.

Er...you made a mistake.

Black Label is explictly out of canon

https://www.dccomics.com/blog/2018/06/15/shedding-new-light-on-dc-black-label

"DC Black Label is a brand-new publishing imprint dedicated to giving premier writers and artists the chance to expand on DC's unrivaled characters with unique, standalone stories set outside DC continuity"

https://www.dccomics.com/blog/2018/03/08/dc-launches-new-publishing-imprint-dc-black-label

"DC Black Label, a new publishing imprint from DC Entertainment, gives premier talent the opportunity to expand upon the canon of DC's iconic Super Hero comic book characters with unique, standalone stories that are outside of the current DC Universe continuity"

https://www.comicsbeat.com/superman-year-one-coming-to-dcs-black-label-in-june/

"When the book was first announced, it was said that this one and the rest of the label would be outside of continuity."

Somebody should ask ClassicNESfan to comment here.

What do you think that we should do here Alonik?

This thread looks like it's kind of been derailed, but yes, I do think we agreed to remove the reboot note a while ago. The Books of Magic is a reboot taking place in another universe, but it shouldn't apply to Lucifer.

Actually, I also think we can remove the line about not scaling to the "New 52 version" as well. There are a lot of DC characters who call themselves "the devil," "Satan," or "Lucifer," but they're demonstrably different characters from Lucifer Morningstar. Singling out the "Lucifer" from New 52's Etrigan run seems either unnecessary or not very thorough. It would probably be better to just have a note acknowledging that there are many different "devil" characters in DC and informing the reader that this profile covers a very specific one.

I have unlocked the page. Tell me here when you are done. My apologies that it took so long. I have been extremely busy.

Well, you can expand the note to say what you suggest if you wish, but it should mention that other characters named "Lucifer" are not the same.

Thank you. Is there anything left to do here, or should I close this thread?
