Seems like a fun match-up.

InFAMOUS 2 Evil Cole. Base Captain Marvel w/Binary Form restricted. Speed is equalized, battle takes place in the Savage Land.

Carol is informed there has been a spatiotemporal fluctuation in the Savage Land, and is told that the massive energy surge may be related to the actions of an electricity-based superhero or villain such as Electro. Being in the immediate area, she flies down to meet her combatant, while a confused Cole begins angrily questioning her about where he's been dislocated to. The conversation goes awry and they begin fighting.

Cole is 345 Gigatons, Captain Marvel is 230 Gigatons.

Didn't you explicitly go against that on the Mob Thread?
I mean; that's because Mob absorbs energy from literally everything by just existing; Carol only absorbs what is thrown at her, which would be Cole's electricity.

Buuuut, Resistance is Resistance. Mob'd need feats of absorbing energy to people who resists absorption to make that argument work.

Doesn't really matter whether you absorb it passively or just attacks.

Absorbtion is still absorbtion unless the actual potency is better, though ifob can absorb energy from anything it might be enough

Regardless, if it is enough, she absorbs everything and GG

If not, Cole pummels due to scaling to a higher feat by a very weak Beast and is much more versatile

If your absorbtion is outright better then what they resist, it should bypass

I always knew this match would come, I just hoped I'd never live to see it...

Anyway, about the absorption thing, I'm neutral on it. On one hand, we've seen him resist absorption from the likes of David Warner, who's shtick is to drain the bioelectric energy from everything he touches. Cole resists this multiple times with little issue. Know, about his energy being absorbed... idk. His lightning wasn't absorbed by guys who absorb electricity like David and Kessler, but we're not sure if it was cause Cole's AP overcame their resistance, or cause absorption resistance negation shenanigans (though I'm leaning towards the former).

Regardless of whether or not Marvel absorbs, Carol decades of experience, martial arts and versatility prove a major challenge to Cole who only has ice and lightning to work with, and only a few months of experience (though he's certainly overcame the experience gap before).

He resists her draining him to the point of KO, and he resists heat fairly well, but everything else may be too much for him.

I'd switch to Evil Cole (not Beast), since he certainly had a few tricks up his sleeve that'll keep Captain Marvel on her toes.

I myself am not found of two hero's fighting BTW

At worst these two would have a civil dispute

I'll swap to Evil Cole since this seems to be fairly tipped into Captain Marvel's scales.

This sound quite a nice fight, but i feel like Cole had better chance to win the fight.

He had slightly better AP/Dura, he had more abilties that grant him superior versatility (and more options), he seen to had better combat skills and he had also way more combat experience since he possess all the memories of his future self Kessler, who had lived more than a century.

While Ms. Marvel's absorbing power could prove a major threat, but not only Cole had encounter characters with such ability before and resisted Energy Absorption in more occassions, but he had too such power (even if it isn't as OP), so Cole would most likely be able to overcome.

Some thing Captain Marvel has, just to put out there.

Her Danger Sense works as an unreliable precog; if Cole is going to do something that can kill her, she will likely be made aware of it and can take actions to avoid it.

Carol can recover her strength if she is exhausted with electricity; while I don't think she could directly absorb energy from Cole to KO him, she can abosrb his other attacks without much issue and would gradually increase in strength through the fight.

She can absorb ambient light to make it appear to be pitch black around her, which might help in confusing Cole.

She can pressure-point people into submissio and is surprisingly skilled in H2H.

Doesn't Captian Marvel get Ionic drained if she even somewhat gets close?
Carol resists power-draining.

Shouldn't Carol's regen have been removed? That's what I was getting from this at least.
I'll just remove that myself now that I can.

It's not draining power, its biological manipulation

It removes the neurons in your brain

I explained that it is meant to remove bio electricity from a person.

Neurons travel throughout the brain to send messages to the body, without them the brain literally cannot think.

She absorbs it by being conscious and alive before absorbing it back

If her brain literally cannot operate she can't absorb it.

Well now it's a different ball game.

Carol's resistance to electricity and heat, along with her martial arts and experience, will still prove a challenge to Cole, but he has a couple things going for him.

Evil Cole is ruthless and doesn't care at all about collateral damage or bystanders, and as such, many of his attacks have decent AoE. He loves to release grenades that explode multiple times to deal damage via kinetic energy. While Carol could potentially absorb it, Cole's numerous grenades exploding may be able to overwhelm it.

He also has increased resistance to heat via Nix's powers, and can deflect any oncoming attacks via shockwaves, which have numerous effects. Nightmare Blast traps opponents in a cloud of ash, smoke and lightning, blinding, suffocating and paralyzing opponents (which can help Cole stun her long enough to clinch a win).

On top of that, Cole can also summon numerous Spikers to attack foes from afar. They don't do much damage and can be killed in one hit, but they're small, fast, and can prove to be a distraction with their bursts of acid spray.

He also has numerous ways of boosting his power, which includes absorbing nearby electricity, using Precision Mode to boost his speed and power output (though it burns through energy quickly), and can potentially evolve new abilities in the midst of combat via stressing his body or in reaction to danger. Add this to the fact that he likely has a power advantage (the Beast feat was a result of John transferring his powers to Cole, not a direct attack), and he could potentially overwhelm Carol,

He has a pretty decent healing factor that could help him stay in the game, and he has counters to Carol stealing his light via his passive radar which lets him sense nearby enemies, buildings, energy, etc. He's also dealt with numerous enemies who're are resistant to energy attacks (numerous enemies in inF2 have armor that deflected his lightning), so it's not like he doesn't know how to adapt his fighting style in the middle of a fight.

Worse comes to worse, Cole can always use Ionic Drain, an attack that drains the bio-electric energy from everything nearby, ignoring durability by shutting down the body.

Like I said, Carol absorbing electricity is obviously an action she has to perform

The moment Ionic Drain happens, Carol is incapable of even thinking, thus she's dead and can't make the action to absorb it

Cole FRA as well.

The Cru virus is separate from her brain and can take actions on her behalf, even repairing her from genetic damage.

Carol's ability works even if she isn't conscious to use it.

She's not unconscious, she's dead.

If your brain can't work or generate brain waves, you are dead.

Can she absorb electricity back despite this?

It's more like he steals the energy needed to keep your nervous system and brain functioning, essentially turning you into an instant corpse.

Arrogant Schmuck said:
. Could you add this as well? Or is it no longer relevant with Carol's additions?
I mean, the thread seemed to severely underplay Carol's skill, and the addition of pressure point strikes make a H2H fight more complicated than the thread may pan out the be.

As for hax she did get new resistances.

It's something her body does, not necessarily her brain. And it works even when her heart is stopped. As mentioned previously Cru is a seperate entity in her body, and is a virus, and can repair her from genetic damage.

Is what Cole does even instantaneous, affecting every one of her neurons at once?
