The small floating village of Vellie was startled awake by the arrival of a complete stranger. The strange draconic creature, who claimed to be the Captain of the Imperial Guard for a nearby empire, requested the presence of the young owl who had managed to defeat one of the greatest plagues of the sky, Molstron the Sky Pirate, and wished to escort him to see the Empress herself. She was surprised, then, when the owl brought before her was a young, mute boy who had an older soldier speak for him. Despite her orders coming from the Empress herself, she could still hardly believe this was the one to destroy someone as vast a threat as Molstrom. So, to quell her own concerns, she requested a spar with the young owl to test his might, allowing the use of whatever he uses in a serious fight. Moving into a nearby Owl Ruin, the two of them squared off to prepare for their fight.

In the blue corner, we have Tianhuo from Them's Fightin' Herds, and in the red corner, we have Otus from Owlboy.

-This is a fight to the death or incapacitation. No holds barred.
-Neither charascter are aware of each other beforehand, and there is no prep time.

-Neither character are allowed any outside help, aside from Otus' summoned allies.

-This battle takes place in the Owl Ruins nearby Vellie, giving Otus the home-court advantage.

-Speed is equalized.

With all this being said, let the debaste begin!

Note: I'm aware that the image for Tianhuo is broken, despite the fact that it's just fine on the profile. I'll find a replacement or something.

Also, the OP is basically a fanfic considering how much it breaks from both sources' plots. :p
 
Otus's Home field advantage gives him a pretty good...advantage, though how skilled is the horse thing exactly? Can it outskill otus or...? Sorry I know nothing about either of these two but I'm gonna try and vote.
 
That's fair. I barely know anything of the character myself, but I'll try my best.

Tianhuo is one of the contenders to become the Key Keeper, the one who will be able to stave off the Predators who seem to be attempting to escape from their Hold. She, along with the six other available fighters in the game, are considered the very best fighters in their specific herds. Tianhuo herself is the Captain of the Imperial Guard for the empire of Huoshan, and other characters such as Arizona or Velvet had to partake in tournaments with the rest of their herds and came out on top.

So, I'd say she has a lot of battle experience. And compared to Otus, who just had the single adventure he partook in to his name, I'd say she has the experience edge.
 
Tianhuo seems to have this in the bag. Her experience and tactical prowess seem to be far superior to that of Otus. Along with her mastery of Martial Arts, She will likely be the one getting the most hits in close quarters combat. She also has a slight range advantage which will help her get damage from not just up close but also from afar. Combined with her resistance to heat (which won't negate the fire attacks back will definitely severely lower their effect) and I'd say Tianhuo takes this
 
Thank you. So she and Otus are rather close when it comes to AP.

Is there any reason why Otus' thread manipulation cannot be used to tie her up so he can land some free attacks? It'll be a constant 2 v 1 battle at least, so that will limit her martial arts. And her range is only extended melee range, judging by her profile. Which isn't impressive at all.

I'm fairly certain Otus' versatility gives him a slight edge here. Combat experience doesn't help when you're tied up in thread.
