Current Standings (A "-1" indicates a fighter was disqualified for whatever reasons)

Twenty-third round of the 7-A brackets begins! Winner of the last round was Ren Tao.

Since Fate servants are going through some minor revisions relevant to the next round I'll skip it for the time being.

The contenders for this round are Nonon Jakuzure, submitted by JackytheJack, and Rugal Bernstei, submitted by CrimsonStarFallen.

IDK how high into 7-A RUgal is so I'll use Omegal Rugal and Symphony Regalia Finale Nonon. Speed is equal, battle takes place in Shrek's Swamp.

Another good question would be what kind of energy can he absorb? Or is it never really specific? So far I don't see what's stopping Nonon from playing keep away.
 
Gravity Manip is in the form of a projectile. He gathers gravitational energy around himself and fires a powerful energy wave. The electrical looking things here are done through Gravity Manip. Doesn't make stuff heavier or anything. He can spam then as well.

Absorbing Energy comes from absorbing power from Gaia, the Earth for Self Empowerment. I think he had some moves that allowed to absorb energy from others as well but that would recquire physical contact.

His Reflector Shields would be a better option since they reflect basically anything in his home-verse (yes, even physical things like "try to punch it and you take damage instead").

From what I hear about Rugal, he can fight Kyo Kusanagi, who can fight against Orochi who is High 7-A but he only won with the help of three other people, and the there's The link that shows what Orochi can do? Well from what I see it's what one of his servers can do (Goenitz?) and he's greater than that servant It's incredibly confusing.
 
Yeah, his reflective barriers should work on basically anything Nonon has to throw at him.

That put IDK how long Nonon can hold out having her projectiles send back at her; because Rugal's stamina is pretty bad compared to hers.

Rugal can potentially one-shot if he can inject her with Orochi power, which causes her to explode from the inside out (and yes this works through armor), although it's touch based so Rugal is out of luck there.
 
The current scalling is indeed weird AF since O. Rugal would technically speaking scale to being weaker than Leopold Goenitz who is weaker than Orochi but High 7-A as well. OOF

I couldn't even find where 7-A came from, all the calcs are at 7-B or High 7-A.

Poor Rugal, he only beat Pheonix Man because the bird got disqualified, not he's getting the banhammer himself.

Probably. I do believe there were a bunch of fighters who had sound based (or outright musical) moves there out of the cast which still get Reflector Shielded but I'd need to skim through the damn roster of nearly every iteration of KOF to make 100% sure.
 
So, should I disqualify Rugal or message some King of Fighters supporters to try and make sense of this?

High 7-A comes from Goenitz' storm feat who stomped Rugal then gave him some of his Orochi Power which leads to this Omega Rugal key existing. Maybe I guess people scalled him back to 7-A as a result of this? I have no idea myself.

Tanking 105 megatons is not well above it, it's just a casual feat

Fighting people that can harm you means said people scale, not that you're higher end
 
Alright, I'm going to save myself the headache and just say Rugal is backscaled from High 7-A.

No idea where that places his AP though, usually with backscaling the characters are on the higher end of the tier.
 
I'll use Nonon's third key assuming Rugal is on the higher end of 7-A.
 
Okay now that that's covered here's a question.

how does the reflection work? Can you actually see it come back to you and react to it, or do you just get damaged? Because if you can react I can see Nonon just putting up a force field for those attacks and just wear him out until he dies.

I'd say just don't attack and play the defensive but I don't think that's like her.
 
From what Fate said his sheilds seem to instantly transfer damage back to the person who shot the attack; although I'm not aware of how often Rugal uses this tecnique.

That put, Rugal's stamnia is still an issue. If Nonon forces him to go all out for too long he nukes himself.
 
Oh no, the reflected things if they are projectiles do travel back to the sender.

It's just that if you physically punch it you just take the damage straight up hence why I mentioned "physical stuff is reflected too".
 
Rugal doesn't have many good ranged attacks at all.

Nonon honestly nukes him or they fight for a while and he nukes himself
 
Ah, alright: I mean I can actually see Nonon just tiring the dude to death as an option. I don't think it'd be that difficult for her to do so. Especially if she can maneuver around reflected attacks.
 
I see Rugal losing via nuking himself, yes.

That being said Rugal is an excellent CQC fighter, he just got ridiculously unlucky by fighting only ranged people twice.
 
Yeah, Rugal doesn't have enough stamina to take on a ranged fighter like Nonon for too long.
