Downgrade Buu Saga DBZ base form characters to Low 4-C

In episode 5 of DBS, Beerus asks goku if he defeated frieza, and goku says he did. than beerus examines goku states that there's no way goku could have beaten frieza in his base form. he than implies that goku was only able to beat frieza because of his super saiyan transformations. So this means that base goku even in early DBS was weaker than pre training frieza. Obviously early DBS base goku is at least as strong as base buu saga goku, and base buu saga goku is on par with base buu saga vegeta and gohan and maybe some others.

so this downgrades buu saga base goku to low 4-C, along with some others.

Yeah, that was just a lie to give Goku motivation, as by Buu saga, it was clearly stated that even Goku's base form was much stronger than Frieza at this point in time. Plus Goku's ki was suppressed to where not many characters could sense his PL.
 
This is some amazing levels of downplay if I do say so myself.
 
I think I should just go ahead and close this, seems like a straightforward misconception to correct.
 
Context is missing. Goku wasn't ready to fight, thus not at his full power. He was just casually standing there, suppressed.

This hasn't happened for the first time. Tarble also misunderstood Goku at first, saying he doesn't have any battle strength. Need I remind you, many villains possessing a scouter throughout DBZ have done that with many Z warriors.

This is just Goku being Goku. This should have been closed tbh.
