I calculated Galeem's light rays at MFTL+. I propose that the characters scale to this for a number of reasons:

  • Link, Bayo, Zelda, Mewtwo, Lucario, Greninja, Palutena, and Inklings have displayed the ability to react to the rays of light
  • Kirby's Warp Star can barely keep pace with them and escape, and Kirby's Warp Star is stated to be capable of Warp Speed travel
  • Just about anybody can Dodge the Warp Star as well
Some people have remarked that the black hole Galeem creates before releasing the light rays is surprisingly realistic in how it looks, as it distorts the space around it. So perhaps someone could calc that too? I'm not familiar with black hole feats.

Should we also scale the intelligence of the "mainstream" version of the characters to the Smash one? As it seems they may share that...

Outside of that, I agree with this.

Didn't the Warp Star also had some interstellar travel feat in the trailers of the last game? In any case I agree with this.

I don't know if we're allowed to scale the characters at all.
Thats up to debate as far I know, as that hasn´t been discussed when regarding intelligence.

Does this mean every character is gonna get seperate smash versions? Cause at this point they may as well be if they all live in one world and are confirmed to be toys, which is why they dont scale to their original selves. That and they can take on and fight beings like Master Hand, Crazy Hand, and Tabuu, not to mention Master Core and whatever the hell Galeem is supposed to be when the game comes out. Wouldn't that make them all Universe+ and MFTL? Not wanting to wank, just a legitimate question. I mean Olimar is taller than in canon as is Kirby, we have PIKACHU blasting RIDLEY out of the sky with lightning, and this is a world where a freaking PICHU can fight even the mightest of beings like Master Hand.

I think there was a big discussion about that.

They are all outliers. Master Hand and Crazy Hand view the fighters as toys, so the fighters defeating the very guys who control them cannot be viewed as anything but PIS. So naturally the fighters being able to fight against and defeat the guy who godstomped the guys who control them should be treated similarly.

As for the profiles I was on the supporting side of it. But if memory serves right, I was in the minority.

Regardless let's focus on the legitimacy of the MFTL+ feats right now.

Who's to say the AoE blast consuming the galaxy is the same speed as the lasers the cast reacts too?
I was wondering if someone would bring that up. Especially since in the same shot the rays of light go from taking a few seconds to cover part of a planet, to then crossing massive interplanetary distances in the same timeframe.

I think it can just be chalked up to cinematic timing, and the fact that it's likely not a blast but a hyper-condensed danmaku of the same light rays.

Did you see this calc blog that I did with some Ultimate Final Smashes?

https://vsbattles.fandom.com/wiki/U...._Ultimate:_Final_Smashes_and_Assist_Trophies

Although they aren't quite into Tier 6, we've got a Large Mountain level+ feat via scaling the Majora's Mask Moon to Pikachu's lightning, and that feat is just barely not Tier 6. And I also calc'd the Ice Climbers' Final Smash at 7-A low end, 6-B mid, and High 6-B high.

How come? I mean Tabuu is well above that as he beat Master Hand down and a small team of fighters can take him on. They clearly don't scale to their main canon selves.

Yeah, but those never touched the intelligence section, as it can scale as they seem to share the same memories of the "original" characters, hell, we have a bunch of stages in the games that make references to games their original counterparts have been in, and they don´t treat it as a new experience at all (at least for the ones native to the franchise in the original one).

The flash we see at the end is clearly just an extension of the light tentacles themselves, so this seems fine, I guess.

Although we obviously can't apply this until the game itself comes out.

Yeah but again, we've had the characters taking on the likes of friggin TABUU already. I mean Tabuu would have NO reason to hold back against the fighters in terms of SPEED or POWER and they BEAT him. The speed and power shouldn't scale from their main counterparts, and we have clear cases of them bring far faster and stronger than their main selves, like the Tabuu battle.

Tabuu has no MFTL+ feats aside from scaling to MH, and as I explained earlier Tabuu, MH, CH, and MC are all outliers as it involves scaling the characters to the very people who view them as inanimate toys.

Why? Like, why is that PIS? Isn't their defeat— beating MH, CH, and MC— the stated point of these characters' journeys? We don't take them seriously why?

While I'd give the master hand one to you just cause its been stated it loves a good fight and be holding, Tabuu however, could be a legitimate case cause why would he hold back? They arent the same characters as they are in canon anyways so WHY would ot be PIS? This is its own world. The rules and scalings of the other worlds dont fully apply here. I don't wanna sound like a wanker, i just don't see the reason for it being PIS. Batman kicking a higher dimensional being in his world, yes, BUT this is a world filled with toy characters who have one shared world, one shared shared entity who created it and given that, Master Hand, who has been said to he the bridge between our world and theirs, could just as easily have made them that strong.

@Amexim, Gaara

None of what either of you mentioned has anything to do with PIS or consistency.

It is PIS if the character's normal capabilities are contradicted for the sake of the plot. That is exactly the case here; the fighters only exist in the imagination of MH, so them being able to defeat MH, let alone the guy who oneshot him, cannot be seen as anything but PIS.

Regardless you are both derailing the thread.

I am very much against this, as there is no way to know if the beams and the AOE are one in the same
What else could it be? We see that collection of colorful flashy light rays expand to consume the planet, and then we see it expand even further across what is presumably a solar system, still retaining the colorful properties of the light rays.

We also have to ask if the beams began to accelerate, could have some effect. But otherwise, looks aok to me. Shame we would have to remove the ke calc tho

There are just too many unknowns. Are the beams tye AoE blast? Maybe, maybe not. If so, did they accelerate? Maybe, maybe not. I think this is definitely something to talk about, but as of right now I am strongly against this

Nah the beams are the aoe/luminosity. @Char

@Efic we also see a difference in speed from the scenes of it spreading theough earth, spreading through the system, and spreading through the galaxy iirc

Yeah it wasn't particularly moving at the speeds that was desired when it was enveloping Earth/planet. After that, well it became a huge blast of light.

It goes from a yellow beam to a white AoE blast? There is nothing that proves that those are the same minus headcanon

Actually we see as they become they white luminosity through sheer numbers @Char
