Bleach: Las Noches's size

I don't think we actually have decided on a size for Las Noches just yet. Seireitei always steals the highlight on that.

Do we use Nel's three day to the opposite side statement, or do we scale its size based off of the artwork?

I'd use Nel's statement, Kubo's artwork in regards to the size of large things is never consistent with itself. We see this with Seireitei as well. We cant use artwork when another scan would contradict the scan we'd use for an initial calc.

This argument is pretty bad and contrary to how we do it with every other series, where visuals > statements every time. Besides, with Las Noches you cannot even make the argument that it is much bigger than it looks.

It is also completely self-defeating.

"We cannot use the visuals because reasons"

"But we can extrapolate a size which does not match any visuals and then apply it to the visuals to artificially make people stronger"

It is fallacious. It is no more "inconsistent" than any sequential art media in the world. It is utilized solely as an excuse.

Other series have the benefit of an author being consistent with art. No two panels of Las Noches are consistent with each other to yield an objective depiction of it.

>Besides, with Las Noches you cannot even make the argument that it is much bigger than it looks.

This was literally a point by Ichigo and Co. That its so big despite them runnung towards it till they drop and it doesnt appear to be getting closer.

No they don't.

There are numerous series which have inconsistent depictions of city, building, character, spaceship, etc sizes.

Do you know what we do? We take each possible size and then calculate them all. And then find an accurate medium.

We don't throw it all off the window. This approach to Bleach is excludent from the rest of the wiki and gives it special treatment.

No art is actually fully consistent, at all. Again, unless you think an author will draw everything perfectly to scale in every panel that has an object.

Las Noches is still visually gigantic though.

Ichigo ran for at least three hours and still felt Las Noches was as far away as when he'd started alongside Chad and Uryu. This implies Las Noches covers a sizeable portion of the field of view even from 100 kilometers away.

This is a pretty ludicrous conclusion to get from a "Ran for 3 hours", and also assumes that the line is completely literal.

From what I know the speed of a human at its peak is 45 km / h, seeing that ichigo walked for 3h that would give us 135km, correct me please. Anyway using the image will be a low ball so I agree to use the art. I do not think we can use Nel's statement, since she's a child.

Edit: Actually I'm neutral here.

Do you honestly think that Ichigo ran for 3 hours straight with no pauses or fluctuations in speed?

Also using average running speed you can generously get something like 72 kilometers, not 135 km.

You can calculate every depiction if you wish, you'll find how inconsistent it is within itself that way.

But you still have an argument of art vs statement/intention always there.

What we can see and conclude based on our first-hand senses >>> What we can infer from the testimony of others, specially without visual backup.

This is a basic concept in Burden of Proof. Visual Evidence is far more valuable than someone's word both in science and in law. It shouldn't be different in VsDebating specially because we employ concepts pulled straight from those kinds of debates.

Calculating every depiction and finding a medium is far superior than just using one statement. This is exactly what was done with One-Punch Man. A character's official size was immediately ignored because no matter how you cut it, it was innacurate to the visuals. So we calculated every possible size for him based on visuals and chose a middle ground.

Do the same thing with Bleach.

@Matthew

Ichigo has shown the ability to run nonstop for hours since his training and fight for several days (which Uryu has also done). Assuming he can run for 3 hours nonstop is in line with what is shown, if a low end.

Given that prior to this, Ichigo had stated he could run for a week nonstop and had fought nonstop for 5 days, he would have good stamina. So running for 3 hours seems more than safe to me. You could try to use Uryu and Chad, but both also have good endurance feats.

We don't use average human speed for characters with superhuman running feats. We've always used Usain's top speed, as far as I'm aware.

Because he will deviate from the path I wonder, since his goal was in front of him, Hollows are weaker than him, so it would be no problem for him, he also said he could run for 5 whole days on the mat, so fatigue would not be problem.3h would be easy for him.

Also, we don't even have a Las Noches size calc yet. The ones we do have have not been accepted.

Pretty sure las noches has been calced plenty of times.

Comicvine, reddit, narutofoums, google+, hell even screwattack caled las noches and iirc all of them got to at least small country.

I don't have links on hand since I'm not faitly active in any of them but I'm sure a quick search would give all sorts of results.

as for method of calculation shoulder shug

I'd have to recheck those calcs

One day has 24 hours and 3 days would take until arriving in Las Noches,

Then:

24 x 3 = 72

Maximum speed of a human, without using Usain's is 45km / h.

Therefore:

45 x 72 = 3,240

Correct me please

Kazui, the 3 days is referring to how long it would take to get to the opposite side of Las Noches from one side of it's wall. Not how long it would take Ichigo and Co to run to Las Noches from the gate they entered Hueco Mundo from.

Hmm, as I thought, I'm terrible at matematica.lol

But the Soldier's calculation was not accepted? Why are we arguing this now?

His teeth on that form are quite a bit larger than his dog, if I recall correctly.
